Don't be upset with yourself....We PAY, medically trained Vets to make these decisions for us...It's not your fault.....I got to thinking: Because maintaince doses are done every other day; that leads me to believe that it must stay in their system for up to 48hrs. Does that make sense? Hang in there....And keep me posted....I'll be thinking about you...

My GP then prescribed Predsol (Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate) drops - one drop three times daily for five days. The list of side effects looks quite scary and so far I havn't used them. The side effects include: "Glaucoma, blurred vision or problems with sight, enlarged pupils, drooping of the upper eyelid, thinning of the cornea or sclera which can lead to perforation.

I recently had one of my dogs treated for a disc problem in her neck. She was given a decreasing dose of Prednisone to take over 10 days which helped her considerably. Now, my other dog (same size and age) is showing symptoms of the same condition. I want to try the Pred on him but I don't have any left. Instead, I have a large bottle of Prednisolone. If I gave Ruby 40 mg's of PredNISONE, would I now give 40mg of PredNISOLONE? Or would the dose be different?

hi there...I have been treated with prednisolone for pneumonia, was in hospital and have been recovering for 6 weeks. I was on prednisolone for 3 weeks and they did NOT taper the dosage.I have experienced horrific withdrawals and now have been given zanax for treating the extreme anxiety. It is 3 weeks since I took thelast prednisolone tablet, I am angry I was not advised to taper down the dosage and I am wondering how long I will be going through this awful period of withdrawal.

im now down to 30mgs have been on them almost every few months on and off but this time the HIGH is is horrible,not that it was good before.the only thing is that i have no pain and a lot of energy.I am doing doing things that i dont remember and thats not real good either.

I kind of doubt it's the cerenia causing the drooling. It's more likely the stress that's causing it - a normal reaction in dogs to any kind of stress. While the cerenia can help with nausea and vomiting from motion sickness, it can't help with the mental end of it. Frequent breaks - like every 30 or 45 minutes on a long trip - can also help set the mental reset button. The good news is that most dogs who experience motion sickness as pups tend to outgrow it with practice.

My German Shepherd was recently prescribed incurin and it has caused her not to eat and a little bit aggressive and scared... She also was running around with her hackles up and starting fights with my other dogs...She only had 3 or 4 days of it and then I took her off of it this last Sunday was her last dose...She still is not wanting to eat and not 100% back to herself? I had been in a treatment with prednisone and Methotrexate for one year but the abscess goes away and comes back, so I guess that the medicine is not working in my body, at less not for the GM, b/c is killing me with the side effects. I would like to start think on the mastectomy but i am really confused. yesterday I was on the Dr and actually I have a drain until tomorrow when the Dr will change it.

The possible side effects scare me. Can I gradually taper off the frequency of these steroids as long as the eye stays clear and comfortable? I saw some recommendations on-line for lowering frequency in 2nd week to 3x per day and 2x per day in 3rd week.

Why are you on steroid eye drops? They have lots of potential side effects if used chronically.

there are people that use the drug for years for RA (rheumatoid arthritis) and there were trials that looked into the side effects of long term administration of low dose corticoid treatment namely Prednisone and Prednisolone, the side effects were minimal.

For the present episode or for some other problem,how long?sure prednisolone can cause stomach problems.Did not the prescribing doc told you to withdraw in phases?

So i was diagnosed yesterday with crohns disease in the small intestine, they have put me onto prednisolone tablets.The tablets are 5mg each but i have to take 30mg a day. I toke them yesterday and today everytime i've been toilet it has still been diaahrea but i don't expect this to get back to 'normal' for atleast a week anyways. i have also been put on calichew d3 which is calcium and vitamin D. Have you been on prednisolone if so.has it worked did you have side effects.

This is well known for all the ractions you say in your Post, they could have warned you, if you go to the search Engine and put it in,then side effects it will tell you, I was offered it for Hives a week ago and did some reasearch I still have the Hives but I an glad I did not take Prednisone, THey should tell you to come off it slowly but I guess as it has been tapered off you will be okay, can you ask them if you will have withdrawal.Good Luck, in future look these drugs up.

Some of the side effects reported vary due to different breeds & several other factors. We have 1 Rottweiler mix male & 2 rescued dogs (German Rottweiler female & American Rottweiler female). German Rotty was approx 2 y/o when rescued. She had her first seizure approx 2 months ago. Scared me to death. A month later she had another so I knew some of the signs before hand. My mixed male & American Rotty female were going crazy when the seizures occurred.
