Avatar f tn Hello, Prednisolone has been used in treatment of sinus infections. It can be used in combination with methotrexate but only in sinus pain due to wegener’s granulomatosis. It can not be used in allergic sinusitis due to its various adverse reactions. Cyclophosphamide is the drug of choice along with prednisolone in wegener’s granulomatosis but methotrexate is used to maintain remission after a person has initially received cyclophosphamide.

907515 tn?1251727972 i get arthritic symptoms but each time i test for RA there is nothing there, even tho my joints are severely inflamed, swollen to twice their size, and hot to the touch... this arthritis affects all joints in my body wherever there is stress... sometimes if the swelling is not severe, i just take acetaminophen, and lots of rest... but every decade or thereabouts i get a severe crazy out of control flare up and right now i m going thru one of those...
7002065 tn?1443073614 After you posted I did look into Prednisolone so now was interested in reading your dose (down to 5mg per day, correct?) and how long have you been on Prednisolone? That 20 - 15 mg was just a few days and then the 5 mg is current... so how long have you been on this in total? It does seem that Prednisolone does cross the brain-barrier but can you verify this? Yes, it does seem safe at that low dose but I am worried every time I see any cortico(steroids)! Are you still on LDN?
Avatar f tn I have been on prednisolone for 9 years. I am taking methetrexate for rheumatoid arthritis. Luckily i have been able to stop my steroids and have been clear of steroids for just 10 days. I would like to know how long the moon face and weight gain, especially around the abdomen takes to go or at least reduce?
3201003 tn?1345349318 Actually, these names are somewhat misnomers. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and adult onset rheumatoid arthritis differ in some characteristics but the names indicate strict similarity. Juvenile chronic arthritis is a misnomer since juvenile arthritis is not always chronic. Still's disease is a name which should be used for one very specific type of childhood arthritis. There are many links put in JRA into the search engine..and do see a specialist she can be helped ...

Avatar n tn So I was just doing some research for another post on post viral arthritis. It is a kind of arthritis that can set in after you have a virus or the flu. I read that it takes several weeks to months to resolve. I immediately thought of you. Ask your doctor about this type of arthritis and please let us know what you find out.
2043993 tn?1450875078 Hi, I am 23 years old and have been noticing some occasional stiffness in my hands, feet, knees, and back. My mother suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus and I know both are hereditary diseases. Is it possible to have rheumatoid arthritis at such a young age? and should I get tested?
Avatar n tn My father was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis shortly after WWII. He developed it shortly after being shipped back from England in a coma with a very high temperature. He had the usual symptoms of RA but it was not symetrical. It affected different joints on either side of the body. He died in 1965. About a year before he died, he developed unusual symptoms- loss of taste, areas of de-pigmentation etc.
6757907 tn?1385102265 Hey guys - my mom is 55 and has rheumatoid arthritis, and wants to apply for SSI (disability). She has terrible pains and her hands have become crippled. Do you think this will qualify her for it? She can barely lift up her arms; she's worked in care-giving and now it's impossible to do simple chores/duties.
Avatar n tn A positive ANA test result may suggest an autoimmune disease, but further specific testing is required to assist in making a final diagnosis. ANA test results can be positive in people without any known autoimmune disease. While this is not common, the frequency of a false positive ANA result increases as people get older.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis since 2007. First the blood work showed RA factor 83. And last year the number were 95. I went to rheumatologist last year. After examining he said even the numbers are high i don't have any pain or swelling he cant give any medicine. Since i am not taking anything. And i don't have any pain or swelling. But i am worrying about the numbers. If anybody have any suggesstions, would be highly appreciated.
Avatar f tn It is most common in women and frequently occurs in midlife. The cause of rheumatoid arthritis in TCM is the blockage of the meridians. Treatment principle or TCM TCM medicine can expel pathogenic wind and activating the flow of Qi (vital energy) in the merridians, eliminating evil dampness and killing arthritis pains.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Uveitis a couple of months ago in my right eye after my eye became very red and I had some signficant pain in my eye. I have been taking prednisolone 1.0% for the past 2.5 months - they tried weaning me off once and the redness came back so they dialed it back up, and are now working to wean me off again. About two weeks ago, I started noticing that my right pupil was bigger than my left most of the time - something I had not noticed previously.
Avatar m tn //www.assh.org/handcare/condition/rheumatoid-arthritis See your doctor. They will examine your hands. Then take X rays and if they suspect RA, do blood work to confirm. It's treatable. So either way, you should see your doctor. Do Nsaids help at all?
Avatar f tn I have a thirteen year old cat with severe arthritis in his front legs, especially the left one. He had a rear leg removed over seven years ago, and has always walked with a bad limp since then. His legs are stubby and I blame that for the hard time he has walking. His front leg angles out at the middle joint, and is very painful to him. I tried DVM Feline Joint Gel two years ago, but stopped because he would throw up after taking it.
423925 tn?1203460560 d wonder about an inherited autoimmune problem like Rheumatoid arthritis. A rheumatologist is definitely a good person to ask about this.
1550149 tn?1340000730 Can you have Psoriatic arthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis? Doctors official diagnosis~ I have Psoriatic arthritis. Tested positive anti-CCP test as well though...
