Avatar n tn On the few occasions that this happens the Doc prescribes a short 30mg 6 tablets a day course of Prednisolone tablets which usually clears up my Asthma symptoms. My concern is the side effects that are related to Prednisolone tablets i.e. thinning of the bonnes, what I would like to know is would it be a good idea to take calcium tablets on a regular basis or just when I’m on the Prednisolone or are they worth taking at all? Any advice would be most appreciated.
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed me Lansoprazole gastro resistant as there has been blood in my vomit recently. Has anyone taken it or know anything about it?
Avatar f tn I've been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
Avatar n tn My eye doctor sent me to a cornea specialist and after an exam he asked me to keep taking the acyclovir tablets (1 pill - 3x a day) and prescribed Pred Forte eye drops (Prednisolone Acetate 1%) 4x a day. Reading about this stereoid, I saw that it is not to be used on infections caused by virus (eg. Herpes). What should I do????? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Hi i took 30mg of prednisolone for 2 days. how long will the medication be out of my system?
Avatar m tn I am very frustrated because she is not getting better. I am now giving her 2 prednisolone tablets daily and she started to hump on things so I stopped.
Avatar f tn My father is having the honavan tablets because his psa level was diagnosed as having gone up from 22 to 33. But instead of three tablets of 120 mg he is having only one of 120 mg at night as his body weight is only 41 kgs and he cant tolerate more. But he is feeling a kind of suffiocation in chest and breathlessness. He is also feeling low and tierd. He is 86 and till now has been a very active man. Please advise. He did not feel any effect of high psa- it was shown in a regular check up.
Avatar m tn My neuro has given me oral methylprednisolone in tablet form to take in case of a relapse. I have requested for the tablets as I live in a third-world country and to get the IV medrol is not always accessible. Here is my dilemma: Each tablet is 16mg. If I get an acute relapse, I need to take 500mg per day for 5 days. This means that I will have to take approximately 31 tablets per day for 5 days (then taper down).
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 17 and female and my health seems to be deteriorating. I'm having severe headaches which normal paracetamol will not touch and I cannot stomach anything. Any food makes me nauseous and I'm having huge fluctuations in bowel movement. I'm currently on gastro resistant tablets, and I have coeliac disease, but this has never raised an issue before. My doctor continuously puts it to stress & my anxiety but it's getting worse by the day. Any suggestions?

847195 tn?1296171647 started going to the doctor about the pains, she has taken blood test and it showed nothing and also tried me on gastro resistant tablets but they didnt make any difference!any1 got suggestions?
Avatar m tn First, it was unwise to administer this drug without veterinarian supervision, not least because the tablets will be completely out of date and changes may have occurred to the drug itself over this period of time. A gradual reduction in prednisolone dosage gives your dog's adrenal glands time to resume their normal function.
Avatar f tn About 4 weeks ago I got a red itchy rash on my chest. The skin is red with what looks like ives or small bumps. I have used Eurax cream and Bach Rescue cream and Zertec. My doctor prescribed steroids "prednisolone 5MG which I have been on for 6 days now with no improvement. I have attached a photo of the affected area in my profile .
Avatar m tn Hi Guys, I am newly DX with chrons two weeks ago and have been placed onto Prednisolone 50 mg a day. I was wondering how these drugs worked for other people? Other than the fact that they hav brought my D under control, I am still having really bad stomach pains. How quick did you guys get results with these drugs? Was it long term effects bad on you? I was told that they should work straight away, but no such luck! Since starting them, I have had UTI AND A KIDNEY INFECTION.
Avatar n tn what I wanted to know is ...... both of these are resistant to antibiotics......are they both resistant to penecillins and if so is there any point in ever giving her penecillin antibiotics for any infection over the years or should we use a different family of antibiotics? In other words ....could she be inherently/genetically (probably wrong words) resistant to penecillin????? Poor mite also has had chicken pox, hepatitis A, chest infection for at least 5 weeks but now gone thank god.

Avatar f tn wow cause everything I've read so far say's prednisolone is a commen med used. Prednisolone is still from the same group of meds as cortef they are both glucocorticoid but one is called hydrocortisone and the other is called corticosteroid. Not sure what the difference is if the both in the same catorgory of glucocorticoid. Anyway thank for the info I was also wonder is if high intake of potassium and sodium can effect the blood test results or help people with adrenal issue's.
773755 tn?1328119777 i start 20mg/ day prednisolone generic tablets tomorrow - for fibro pain and adrenal support - please let me know how it has been for you, please! thanks...
Avatar n tn Post operative, I have orally taken prednisolone 30mg daily for 3 days, ciprofloxacin tablets 500mg twice a day for 5 days, Acetazolamide 1 tab twice a day for 5 days. After a week I was added Timolol eye drops followed by brimonidine tartrate. A check after 3 weeks showed Iris adherent to wound and for this have just started atropine eye drops after 3 weeks, twice a day. There is no redness the eye now and no pain. My question is around what needs to be done further.
Avatar f tn I had one round of prednisolone, which reduced soft tissue swelling for a few weeks. I have just had a prednisolone injection last week, with he same results. The swelling is coming back though. The first breast surgeons I saw refused to treat me on the grounds that they didn't know what they were dealing with. They sent me on to various internal medicine specialists to rule out an array of systemic illnesses.
Avatar f tn Double my mtx injections to 25 mg weekly. Add budesonide 9 mg daily Start elemental diet of Fortijuice today. Eat low residue diet if I can manage it. Have another MRI scan asap. I am concerned about taking mtx and budesonide concurrently as I had steroid induced psychosis when dx with breast cancer Jan 2003. He said I have some serious decisions to make about resection of strictures but need to put on some weight beforehand. Do you think this treatment plan is correct?
773755 tn?1328119777 i started a two week initial course of 20mg prednisolone - not sure if generic or name-brand. anyway i am usually resistant to pharmaceuticals but the pain was unrelenting and dr and i finally went for the steroid. i have adrenal insufficiency, for last 3+ years. i've so far found it relieving that inflamed feeling so i can now walk a bit better. great. it has disrupted my sleep - DOES THIS SETTLE?
