Avatar n tn Cosopt and Prednisolone AC 1% OPHTC SUSP 10ML (a steroid to remove pain) They help the pain and they were both prescribed by the doctor while we had the insurance. Recently her eye has become such a problem it is affecting the family and we really need some help/answers. So my questions are: 1) Is there anything we can do to ease the pain other than taking asprin? 2) Is there anything we can do to help remove/shrink the blood vessels?
Avatar f tn I am in the middle of having cataract surgery (one eye is done and the other will be done tomorrow). The doctor gave me small samples of Nevanac & Vigamox to use before and after the surgeries. He also gave me a prescription for both. In checking with my health insurance plan, I see that each prescription will cost me $75 to fill. I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac?
1932338 tn?1349223998 Has anyone heard of this aggressive Durezol eye drop regimen post Cataract surgery ? I am having Cat. surgery 10 months after ERM/Vitrectomy. My central macular region has stabilized on OCT to 317 in the fovea, but in the mid 300's as the "average thickness". I have no CME now, but because of the thicker retina my Cat. surgeon thinks I am at higher risk of CME post Cat. Surgery. I read that Durezol is 6 times stronger than the std. PredForte steroid drops, of which most Dr.
284078 tn?1282620298 I personally have been very pleased with this IOL, because it delivers better results for patients with significant levels of astigmatism and with very little downside. Also, the cost for the patient is less that half of the cost for a multifocal IOL. Patients who are good candidates are those with: 1. Amounts of astigmatism in the 1.50 to 4.00 diopter range. 2. Regular astigmatism that measures the same on a consistant basis. 3.
Avatar f tn Rx eye drops I used for the month following cataract surgery were Besivance, Diclofenac, and Prednisolone.
464483 tn?1206779950 Over the past year, a cataract has formed in the center of the natural lens in my right eye due to prolonged use of prednisolone drops. My Rx in that eye is also quite poor with a substantial astigmatism (-6.0 spherical, -5.75 cylinder). To further complicate things, I was diagnosed 6 months ago with hypothyroidism, for which I am being treated in an ongoing manner. In the past few months, I have developed daily visual disturbances in my right eye, which may be symptomatic of ocular migraine.
Avatar m tn Something worth noting is I do believe the incidences of it occuring has dropped significantly since stopping the use of artificial tears and red eye reducers (genteal i believe and clear eye) - I did use another set of drops just prior to this becoming a much less common thing, so it may be worth looking into - systane balance. Unfortunately there are a bunch of things I'm unsure of but the best I can do is tell you what I've done so far..
Avatar m tn Based on my experience, she elected to get crystsl lens implants in both eyes, at an out of pocket cost of $8,000. The left eye is OK, but the lens in the right eye did not unfold properly when implanted. She has severe astigmatism, and still has to wear glasses. The opthamologist has tried repeatedly to get the lens to unfold, by piercing it with a laser in numerous places, which he said was the manufacturer's recommendation.
Avatar m tn I have been to several doctors who always just give me eye drops like visine or similar (yes I have tried the ones with and without redness reduction) I have also been to see an optometrist thinking it may be just bad eyes (although I have 20/20 vision) I was given a pair of glasses as it was found I have a stigma, but this has not helped either. It is really embarrassing, and I cant control it...
233488 tn?1310696703 This is not an exact science and the margin of error is +/- 0.50 but INCREASES with high myopia (long eye) or high hyperopia (short eye), eyes with previous RK, lasik, injury or additional eye diseases. 3. Typically the targeted post op refraction is between 0.00 (not needing glasses for distances of 20 feet (6 meter) or more) and -3.00 which has great vision for tiny detail at reading distance 13-14 inches. Any difference of greater than 1.
Avatar n tn April - Went back to Optometrist because of severe pain again. He gave me more steroid drops. May - Severe pain in LEFT eye again and LEFT ear clogged up, then became painful. Went to my Primary Care doctor. He figured it was allergies. Gave me Nasal Spray, Steroid eye drops, Singulaire and Cipro (just in case there was an infection going on.) Did great until the Cipro treatment was over.
488823 tn?1218374167 I've had this for many years and now it seems like it does not get better even though I been putting drops in my ears for over 2 months. I dont remember when I took this med before it affecting my hearing and now it seems like I keep getting blisters in my mouth. I feel like I'm falling apart. Is this related to peg and riba? because its driving me nuts.Dont know what to do on both but I will mention the mouth problem to my hep doctor as soon as I can. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar n tn two days ago I found this red painful bump on my labia and it grew in size doubled in two days time now it looks like two of them side by side I have also had what I thought to be pink eye for 3 weeks went to doc for eyes and it was weird almost like he wasn't sure to treat me for pink eye but he gave me drops it is not working though my eyes seem to be getting worse they are very blurred and red and I can't stand light right now! any suggestions????
Avatar n tn Yrs. ago, I also went through this terrible problem & ETD is just the worst thing to dx/treat/fix. My case was unilateral w/ ear but bilateral w/ nasal prssr-hdprssr. I also went through several ENT's/Neurotologists scans & tests. Cause can be 1 or multi-problems. It's a rule out game. Hm-journal, like a sm- calendar bk is great since it's dated & can go back to see date of matching events/symptoms. Use abreviations. The ET's are in the back of the throat & connect to middle-ear.
530191 tn?1214166411 I have tried to stop taking the injections due to the cost, but within 2-3 days of not taking it, the hives return in full force. I hate to see anyone suffer like I do, but it is good to know that I'm not alone. This seems like a great support group and I'm so glad I found this site.
Avatar m tn There is a possibility that the infection could go into your ear, which happened to me once, but I found a way to avoid it. You could also accidentally rub infected snot into your eye and get an eye infection, if you are careless. The physiology of your head may be different from my head and you could experience a problem that I would not have, so it’s another risk you must assume. This technique will work for almost any infection of the nose, if you‘re willing to take the risk.
Avatar m tn He isn't on any other medications. Except, Heartguard once a month. He also has had a few meds for ear drops for ear infections. (that was mostly over the summer) What kind of treats are healthy for dogs? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn I was misdiagnosed and it was about 8 days before I started my course of prednisolone. I have 3 days left on my medication but still no hearing in my ear. I currently have no word recognition and only hear buzzing with loud sounds in the affected ear. My hearing test last week wasn't very encouraging, and i have been told there is only a small change of my hearing improving in the bad ear.

Avatar n tn You can find the recipe on line as well, but I highly recommend the book in order to understand the benefits. It only cost a little under 7 dollars. Also research the netti pots. They work really well. I also use silver as an antibiotic in most cases and homeopathic remedies for mold, yeast and pollen. Good luck and God bless!!
Avatar f tn This all started from tanning at the salon Then blisters like sores started forming on my face in my eye brows. (Not blister from sun poison) I stopped tanning. I then was diagnosed with a genetic tissue disease and rheumatoid arthritis and also a late lupus. Iam on about 15 different medicationsbut these sores on my face are the worst. have you found a treatment for anything to get rid of them.
181575 tn?1250202386 Issues for consideration in the selection of therapy include efficacy, safety, incidence of resistance, method of administration, and cost. Peginterferon alfa-2a has the advantages of a 1-year finite duration of therapy, higher rate of HBeAg seroconversion at 1 year, lack of resistance, and higher likelihood of HBsAg loss and seroconversion.
Avatar m tn Regular human formula. Put a few drops of the top of her head 10 minutes apart until she calms. I have a beagle that has cluster seizures, is on phenobarb and potassium bromide and the Rescue Remedy does help her. Good luck!
Avatar f tn It is simple, genital sores, mouth sores, then later eye inflammation, this is what they need to see to make the diagnosis. Waiting for eye inflammation ruined my life because I was seriously sick and no one would believe me. I couldn't work and I couldn't prove why. If it wasn't for my husband, no one would have helped me. My Rheumotologist told me he didn't believe in this disease when I first met him. It took me a year with full blown symptoms to get him to change his mind.
Avatar n tn The ONLY times it has completely cleared was when I would get a cortizone injection in my bad shoulder as well as the one time I was put on a Prednisone treatment for an eye infection. That's it. I live with it. But I would like to know if anyone has an idea as to what brings it on in the first place. Why, out of the blue, does it appear? I have no allergies nor exposures past or present to chemicals or the like. Any ideas? Any treatments that work? Thanks!
Avatar n tn What's happening is your body is under a lot of stress to deal with these changes, thus your immune system drops. The blisters are something like an allergic reaction, a rash, if you will. I suggest: Clean air in your home. Change your air filters. Make sure dust is cleared out of all corners and tight spots of your home. Keep your skin moist. Dry skin makes the blisters worsen in itching. Use hydrocortisone on the blisters (See below for detailed link) http://en.wikipedia.
