In the meantime, my head hurts really bad, I keep feeling dizzy and lightheaded and I am not fond of the way the Prednisolone makes me feel. Oh, yeah, he also had me cut way back on my salt intake for the duration of the steroid. I'm also a diabetic and have been trying to keep that in check as well. Is there anything else that I can do to relieve the pain and discomfort?
The first two weeks I was put on anti-inflammatory drops, which did not help. This past week I was put on Prednisolone and over the counter ibuprofen and it has help tremendously. However, I still have just a little redness. Should I be worried?
I was diagnosed 4 days ago with episcleritis in my left eye but the doctor seemed concerned with scleritis as well. I am taking prednisolone 4x day and and 400mg 2x day. Now my other eye is feeling the same irritation and beginning to get deep pain so I started drops in that eye too. With this treatment when can I expect relief? Preliminary tests suggest the possibility of something autoimmune (1:640 ANA speckled). Waiting for more in depth tests next week and eye specialist next week too.
I have been taking prednisolone on off for years for sinusitis/allergies and have read some people have started taking methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Does anyone know if this would also work for chronic sinusitis conditions?
I took an HIV 1/2 third generation antibody test at a clinic just 12 days after I stopped taking the Prednisolone (corticosteroid) medication, my results for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies came back negative. Taking note that at that time I also still was on my Loratadine medication for another two days.
The negative HIV 1/2 third generation antibody test result was taken 30 weeks after possible exposure which was already past the window period of 6 months.
Prednisolone was for heat rash and my itchy dots. Today I reduce to 10mg a day and tomorrow 10mg and next 5mg and that's it. I've been taking Prednisolone for 3 and half days so far. The main problem at the moment is just the burning face and neck, specially cheeks just under my eyes and under the chin. The burning once goes from one cheek to another or to the neck or everywhere at the same time. Is it normal in such cases? Thank you.
Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain. As you have white coating on the tonsils, you will need to consult your primary care physician for a strep test, which if positive you will be given antibiotics. As the infection resolves, the swelling of the uvula will resolve. In the meantime continue with salt water gargles and anti inflammatory medications.

Morphine can cause physical dependence, decreased libido, constipation and addiction. Long term use of Prednisolone can weaken your immune system making you prone for recurrent infections. It can cause osteoporosis, stomach ulcer, cataracts, weight gain; hirsutism etc.A drug is prescribed if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss your concerns with your attending doctor. HIV COMBO test came negative after 46, 70, 124 and 138 days . I have been taking 5 mg Prednisolone daily for last one year . I have below concern 1. Prednisolone can delay antibodies? 2. These results are conclusive or need to repeat at 6 months?

Around three weeks ago, she had a fever of 100.5 and a mild runny nose. It lasted about two days; I calmed it with ibuprofen. On 5/20 I noticed a few bumps on her legs and arms. Like maybe 8-10 small raised bumps that were a little red. By Monday, the bumps were larger and had started to scab over. She also had more of them on her legs and the ones behind her knee were black. By Monday night, she had what looked like hives on her wrists, palms, and soles, in addition to the other rash.
her cornea got stitch abcess and now she also have exudative retinal detachment. now dr has advised to use steriod prednisolone for treating retinal detachment. my question is that is it safe to use steriods??

I think it's important I add that if your dog is receiving prednisolone as a matter of some urgency - such as certain life-threatening illnesses - then vaccination (annual boosters, etc) would not normally be given. Prednisolone suppresses the bone-marrow from producing white blood cells, which means there could be a severe and potentially fatal reaction to annual booster vaccines.
ve seen a dermatologist here in Thailand and he prescribed Telfast 180mg (antihistamine), Clobet milk 0.05% (clobetasol) and Prednisolone 5mg. When I only took the antihistamine and clobetasol the symptoms did not change much (not worse or better really). Then when I took Prednisolone the first time I felt immediately better but then a few days after finishing it the symptoms slowly started to return.
It can cause some severe and very damaging side-effects. Prednisolone does not cause or treat seizures, but it can create some severe symptoms and primaryt conditions that can lead to a dog having seizures. Hi. The difference between prednisone and prednisolone is that one is the precursor to the other. Prednisone is activated by enzymes in the liver to turn into prednisolone. They do have similar uses but prednisolone is more readily absorbed by the body. Prednisolone is usually used when there is liver toxicity or liver failure involved.

I've been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
I have recurring Episcleritis in my eyes and it is painful. This last time instead of waiting for it to getting bad and do prednisolone drops from which I seem to get rebound effect, I used Ilevro which is like ibuprofen for the eye. This has worked great the past few times I start to feel an achy pressure in and around my eye. Dr. gave me a few fee samples.
Gabapentin helped with my neurological symtoms but it made me feel doped up. I weaned myself off that as soon as I could.
