It has read the same since I have been on this drug. Would it be wiser to change either of the drugs or to add plavix? I have been on pravachol for at least 6 years and diabetic only two.
Another area I have noticed in your forum, is the effect of caffine on blood sugars. My blood sugars do go up when I drink caffenated products. I can not have products with nutrasweet as they do make me ill. I am limited to what I can drink.
does muscle problems from taking the generic pravachol include a burning feeling in the knees which causes pain when walking or bending knees?
Hello, is the drug induced type normalize after someone stops taking the medication? say...Anti psychotics? Does the condition persist even after stopping the drug? Any other way to explain this?
I've been ordered an adrenaline test, which I hope to do next week and just wanted some theories as to my sudden weakness/dizziness when angry or agitated. None in my family (to my knowledge) has/had this condition however.
I was on medication in and out as I develop side effects to the statin drugs. I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs.
Hi...I am on numerous meds...heart(tachycardia arrythmia)-ATENOLOL; High Cholesterol-CRESTOR; Hernia-PRAVACHOL; Fibromyalgia & Osteo-Arthrytis-KETOROLAC; water retention-LASIX; Sinus-FLONASE; Dysrythmia-ATIVAN. I have also been on EFFEXOR for 5 years for severe depression. My dosage has been increased twice in the past month--I now take 187.5 mg...I woke up at about 12 midnight last Sunday and I have no recall of the past 4 days; however, I apparently withdrew $7000.

t find the right medicine...Lipitor caused severe muscle weakness, Zetia caused all kind of digestive problems and Pravachol zapped my energy...my count actually went up 30 points while taking WelChol! My doctor is telling me that I have no other choices of medicine to lower my count (total 285, HDL 106 VLDL 21, LDL 188, Triglycerids 106.) My sister is having the same problem so I guess this problem is a family thing. I am really troubled by my doctor's lack of concern.
My psychiatrist has me on Lamictal, Effexor, Neurontin, Wellbutrin, and Nuvigil. From my PCP I take Pravachol and Lisinopril. Is it safe to take all these together? All answers are appreciated.

I'm a 63 year old male who had no risk factors for heart disease, exercised two hours a day, had no chest pain nor shortness of breath and had passed routine stress test with ease. However, after feeling faint lifting weights, an angiogram revealed major blockages and bypass surgery was done four weeks ago. It went well, except on the third day in the hospital I developed atrial fib which returned to normal rhythm in seven hours with the help of an IV drip of amiodarone.
however, I have high blood pressure (norvasc), osteopena (sp) and high cholesteral (pravachol). I really don't want to take fossamax or any more drugs than necessary, but also do not want a recurrence of breast cancer. Is there a clinical study and shows femara vs placebo rather than femara vs tamoifen (novartis trial)? What is the general recommendation? Can you stop femara if side effects become a quality of life issue? Thank you.
I am currently 30 years old and when i was 28, I had a kidney transplant on April 22, 2008. Since that time I was able to start running again and completed the 2010 Houston Marathon in a time of 2:41:20 - 6:09 per mile! Following the race my Dr. told me that my total cholesterol was 303!!! So they instantly prescribed me 20mg of Simvastatin. With in a matter of 7-10 days I was nearly unable to run my legs became so heavy. Lead Legs!

I don’t mention Leschol and Mevacor since they appear to be rarely used since recently due to the aforementioned being more powerful. Do we have any available solid data on the effects of the various individual statins other than LDL reduction? For example, do we know which ones raise HDL the most? What about effects on particle size or Lp(a), etc.
Findings consistent with Vascular disease etc. Put on asprin and Pravachol for precaution. Had an Ultrasound of heart on 29/5/08, showed enlarged Aorta and Left ventricule. Never had High blood pressure, taken 120/90. No chest or back pain. No shortness of breath or any other symptons.
Of note- Occassionally through childhood, adolescent and adult years when did high cardio exercise found it hard to get a breathe(scary), always ice cold feet.
I am 52, I take Nexium 40mg, Pravachol 40mg, Xanax 0.5mg and Microzide 12.5mg. My blood pressure was always around 128/80, but last month it jumped to 147/102 and has been staying around 138/98 thats when my doctor gave me the Microzide. It is still around 138/98. My doctor always use to tell me that my pressure was beautiful, then I woke up one morning feeling sweaty and clammy. Thats when for some reason I took my blood pressure and it was 147/102.

My doctor insists my cholesterols is dangerously high and prescribed Pravachol. Within two days the symptoms have returned. I now believe my RLS was in fact an early reaction to Lipitor and that my back and neck pain, etc. are an indication of increasing toxicity from statins. Is this an accurate assessment? I need to know what my next steps are. I can't tolerate taking statins any longer.
