456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.
1310633 tn?1430224091 The state, which executes more people than any other in the United States, plans to execute Ray Jasper, 33, at 6 p.m. CDT by lethal injection at its death chamber in Huntsville. Jasper was convicted of the 1998 killing of David Alejandro, 33, who owned and operated a studio where musicians could be professionally recorded for a fee. Jasper and two friends recorded at the studio for about two hours and then took out knives to attack Alejandro.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.

If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it. Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.

Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
Avatar f tn Can you tell me if the indication of change in a womens chloride level during her most fertile time of the month is directly related to the LH surge taking place? Or can you have changes in chloride levels and no LH surge? thanks!

415867 tn?1323365503 It might be an deficiency of any of the following electrolytes sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and phosphate in the blood. Stupid question are you taking a good pregnancy vitamin that might help with this. Hope you can get an answer soon - sounds strange that it's even sore to touch. Hope it gets well soon.
Avatar f tn In physiology, the primary ions of electrolytes are sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), chloride (Cl−), hydrogen phosphate (HPO42−), and hydrogen carbonate (HCO3−). The electric charge symbols of plus (+) and minus (−) indicate that the substance in question is ionic in nature and has an imbalanced distribution of electrons, the result of chemical dissociation".
Avatar f tn You might want to try some supplements like Potassium and Magnesium. Many people suffer from cramps and spasms from a lack of these minerals. They are available at drug stores. You might want to talk to a doctor before using Potassium as it can cause problems if you take the wrong amount. - It is a salt substitute.
6573002 tn?1383657837 Hello everyone! I previously had my cortisol serum levels checked and they were fine 25 at 7 AM and then 10 at 7PM. In August I started having dizzy spells and the doctors had me wear a CGM iPro for a few days and while it did show some glucose levels in the 70s and one at 62 (while sleeping) , my PCP seems convinced that my orthostatic hypotension is endocrine related.
Avatar f tn different kinds of potassium)on amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar m tn I can't find the source of my information but I remember reading that metoprolol is potassium sparing drug - meaning it doesn't cause potassium levels to drop. I don't believe that consuming fruit with a high K diet alone would raise K values to the point of side effects. At the moment I am more interested in the magnesium deficiency/arrhythmia information that I have read about. There seems to be something to that side of the electrolyte balance.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I had a potassium level of 15 but the doctor didn't treat it after trach surgery is there anything I can do RIGHT NOW to treat it? I've been drinking a lot of soda and have some nebulized albuterol but these are only short term I've been having lower back pain and trouble urinating This discussion is related to High potassium level.
Avatar f tn said something about the nervous system being damaged from the epidural injection that caused the spinal fluid leak, and they nervous system is not sending the signal to adrenal gland to control the BP and release chemicals as it normally would. It was prescribed more empirically, than due to the adrenal test being out of range. His BP would bottom out, and he would pass out, so the fludrocortisone, should keep the BP up by retaining fluid more and salt.
