I also eat food that is high in potassium and take a med that helps the potassium from being leached from my body from taking lasix, so I don't know why the "No Salt" is an issue. What I use that really adds a lot of flavor - and I used it for many years is a spice -called "Spike". It goes great on everything. You can get it with or without salt. My husband is eating his food the same way I season mine now and he really likes it.

At the moment I am more interested in the magnesium deficiency/arrhythmia information that I have read about. There seems to be something to that side of the electrolyte balance. I asked my pharmacist and he recommended magnesium chloride supplement. I will try anything to avoid the palpitations.

These also all start within minutes of taking a dose (I'm currently taking 25mg). I get headaches, become extremely thirsty, heart pounding, very dizzy and weak, feel like I'm going to pass out.

Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
