1118724 tn?1357010591 Back to the salt substitute. I also eat food that is high in potassium and take a med that helps the potassium from being leached from my body from taking lasix, so I don't know why the "No Salt" is an issue. What I use that really adds a lot of flavor - and I used it for many years is a spice -called "Spike". It goes great on everything. You can get it with or without salt. My husband is eating his food the same way I season mine now and he really likes it.
1358341 tn?1282209843 t force him to tell me nonsense), and my mother is working on fast food, they throw away all food if they not sell within next hours, and I already got a food infection in a normal restaurant. So if my cat has a liver problem, bad bacteria could harm her, because I'm not sure they invented injections for cat stopping vomiting or removing toxins (they don't even do it for kidney).
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar f tn Why is Potassium entered in % for a new Food Tracker item? When adding a new food item in the Food Tracker, Potassium is shown to be entered as a "%" but it is really displayed as "mg" first on the Nutrition labels. This causes the potassium to turn out to be something like 3150.00mg for a glass of So Delicious Coconut Beverage when it is really 90 mg or 3%. I try and remember to read the % but am ALWAYS forgetting so most of what I enter is way off. Is it just me?

1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.

High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.

Avatar n tn You wanna know what the problem is? The problem is they claim to be low in this and high in that. Should you believe what you're reading on the label? NOP, especially if it is a cheap food. ZQ is right on the money. Commercial foods are the cause of digestive and other problems in cats. You give your cat what it needs...you will not have problems with vet bills. I would feel absolutely horrible listing foods that are low in Phosphorus as I don't know which one's telling the truth.
