Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.
Avatar f tn Meaning to say that just because the watch is reading the chloride activity and indicating so on the watch, could I assume I was ovulating as well. Guess I'm just tired of disappointment. This is the first month I have used the watch and it has indicated Fertile Day one-four and OV Day 1 and so on. We've been going at it! LOLOLOL I'm 44 and was pregnant at age 41 for the first time. She was down syndrome, bad heart and didn't make it.
Avatar n tn she also got blood work done for signs of fatigue (showed up months before this incident) and her chloride and potassium levels were well above healthy. could this contribute to her period being late? please let me know, thanks.
1118724 tn?1357010591 But elevated as well as too low potassium can be bad for the heart and cause arrhythmia. Potassium chloride should not be taken with some blood pressure medications such as losartan, lisinopril, and some others. Are you on any medication? If yes, write them here and I will try to check for you if they are OK to take with potassium chloride.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar n tn Iodized salt is thus table salt mixed with a minute amount of potassium iodide, Dehydration results from the loss of water and important electrolytes from the body, including potassium, sodium, chloride, and many other minerals that are often overlooked. I am unsure y u r trying to avoid potassium as it is one of the items lacking when u dehydrate...many with chiari may have low levels of magnesium and potassium.

Avatar n tn what is the difference between Potassium Chloride, Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Citrate?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your informative response. I was hypothyroid at the time (I have Hashimoto's). My sodium, calcium, phosphorus, chloride and potassium were checked around the same time and they came back normal. Other electrolytes were checked about a year before when I was diagnosed with PVCs and the results came back normal. But I was told that my magnesium was at the low end of normal. It's not that I'm concerned about the PVCs.
Avatar n tn My EKG was fine and my potassium was low. The Doc said I probably had a bout of SVT and sent me home with a few days of potassium pills. That was a week and half ago. The last two night I have had a racing heart (tachy 100 or bpm lying down) and feel very fatigued. I have a cardiologist appointment in six days but am concerned about this tachy at night. I have a history of PVC's but am worried about how I am feeling and what I should do.
Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.

Avatar m tn I asked my pharmacist and he recommended magnesium chloride supplement. I will try anything to avoid the palpitations.
Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
Avatar n tn s that much different than normal levels, it is actually VERY dangerous to have your level at 3.2. Even the slightest change in potassium can cause your heart go out of wack or even to stop it completely. Cantaloupe is actually very high in potassium so I'd recommend anyone with hypokalemia to eat cantaloupe. (also: bananas, OJ, potatoes). Also, for anyone reading this, if you have any kind of kidney disease or kidney insufficiency, talk to your doctor about diet therapy.

Avatar m tn What dose are you taking & what effects are you getting? None of these ingredients are designed for long term use so side effects arising from such use have not really been studied. Excessive use of ephedrine strains the cardiovascular system & increases the risk of stroke & heart attack. As you are already at higher risk due to your smoking habit, this is probably the biggest exposure you are facing. I'm sure you know that you would be much better off without either habit.

Avatar f tn I can eat greasy foods and not get deathly sick! I take a pinch of potassium chloride daily or few times a week. I ordered potassium chloride, (FYI: different kinds of potassium) on Amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar m tn but my heart rate once got as low as 47 beats per minute....very low. I experienced really uncomfortable PVCs, and the ER doc told me my Potassium levels were 2.8. So I took some Potassium chloride, seemed to help, been drinking milk more often (high in potassium) and now the PVCs are back, not as bad as before, but they mainly occur when I try to sleep. I find I sleep on my right side and they arent as prevalent. Seems like most of my discomfort is while laying down.
Avatar n tn I reviewed all of my blood results and all of my bloods work has been bad since 2013. The kidney failure and results have me questioning more and wanting answers.
