Avatar f tn He is treating the symptoms right now, and we can tell more once the blood work is in. Who knows maybe I'm just crazy lol But we know our own bodies & minds & I haven't been right since treatment. Went from a huge high flying on top of the world right after treatment to a gradual decline into anger & depression. Postpartum Treatment Blues could be it, makes sense.
Avatar f tn These compounded hormones do not affect fertility, they are not for birth control purposes, but can certainly help with excessive, irregular bleeding, depression, menopause symptoms and other hormonal imbalances. My heart goes out to all you having problems with the pill. I have a 20 year old, 4 months on the pill, experiencing constant anxiety and depression with anger and bouts of crying over small things. I am helping her find alternatives.
Avatar f tn And I can see it happening again in the future. I feel like a psycho now. When I had postpartum depression and had to be hospitalized for that, the inpatient doctor was awful. He asked me about my mania symptoms, and I just told him that I wrote a lot and did silly things like make five million chocolate colored pretzels, and that I wrote a 100,000 word novel in two months, while on average getting three to four hours of sleep. And he was such a jerk. He told me that didn't mean I was manic.
Avatar n tn My hands and feet are almost always cold (in fact, they are right now), and I fall in and out of relatively mild depression. I have been told that carrying the thalassemia trait has no obvious symptoms, but I've been poking around forums a little bit, and the symtoms I experience seem to be fairly common. I'm still looking for ways to lessen the intensity of these symptoms, but for me I've found that maintaining physical activity helps, as well as not oversleeping, or overeating.
1094771 tn?1330284476 Hi I am jumping in late into this thread. Avatar m tn 3.7 (3.4-5.5) Vitamin B12 is fine My doctor gave me an anti-fungal in the hopes that my symptoms might resolve due to a candida overgrowth. However, I have done some research and have found that there's usually something underlying that causes that. A lot of it all just doesn't make sense. I'm not sure if I have some issue with adrenal insufficiency (Addison's or some deficiency in Aldosterone), Hypothyroid, Iron Deficiency, or something along those lines?! Please help me.
Avatar dr m tn It’s a relatively new description of a condition that’s related to obstructive sleep apnea but as you’ll hear in this podcast, has enormous ramifications in regards to so many health conditions that we see, not only in our field, but in almost every other field in general. I have to say, however, that this is a condition that is not yet accepted by the medical community as it is a relatively new diagnosis and much of what I will talk about is based on my own experiences in my practice.

544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
544292 tn?1268886268 Day 22 Cold Turkey Tramadol ... I woke up HAPPY. I used to wake up happy all the time, before the Tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.
Avatar n tn I too considered weening off but I was scared I wood be worse off mood wise. The anxiety and depression was pretty bad. I had in fact cut my dose in half with the supervision of my Dr. and was struggling at half the dose, so I went back up to 20mg. I have also suffered from little to non-existent libido. I have tried being on other medications, Paxil etc...but I did best on Lexapro mood wise.
Avatar f tn Hi Scarlet Fire, Welcome to Medhelp's Abuse Forum, and thanks for sharing your story. I think that many from your culture can relate to a traditional upbringing (your mother is saying and doing what she was taught), which would include career direction, arranged marriage; and comparison to other children. As of 18 years old, it is your choice as to whether you cut contact, and here you are at 33. still not having cut the ties that bind you. You need to be decisive.
Avatar n tn And mood swings that are worse than when I was dealing with anxiey/depression. I started this therapy for postpartum issues. I just want to feel better. It really upsets me that noone from my doctors office or counselor told me that there would be such a harsh w/d from this drug. I wonder why family practioners are so quick to prescribe antidepressents. I do not think I will ever go back on this kind of medicine again.

2078327 tn?1333457603 On the other hand, being a recovering addict, your mood and how you feel is something you kind of always want to keep an eye on since unwanted feelings can easily sneak up on you. Be sure to keep in constant touch with your therapist since now that the postpartum depression is on the wane, she will be able to assess just how well you will handle treatment. You mentioned you have not returned to work yet so is it possible to return maybe part-time and use the baby as an excuse while you treat?
Avatar m tn I respected her honesty and offered my helping hand. As it worsened depression began to set in for me. I found myself beginning to indulge in these activities with her to alleviate my depression symptoms. But I quickly realized that this was only enabling her to continue on. Then about 3 years into our relationship we learned that she was pregnant. During her pregnancy she winged herself off of the meds over the course of a couple of weeks. She stayed sober until labor.
Avatar n tn What is maybe more important, for me, in escaping depression, is not to be alone and trapped in my head. Nothing makes me more depressed than being alone and thinking about myself. That depresses anyone. I haven't been depressed in a long time, and I am sure that my endorphins aren't firing all cylinders even now: depression for me is relative to how much time I spend in isolation. When I am hanging with freends and getting real, it just doesn't happen.
