Avatar m tn I looked at about 20 online sources trying to find the rating scale. Looks like you have to pay money or get trained to find the scales. I did find a few sample reports. One said that a 81 was "Markedly atypical (indicates significant problem)". This was for a sub set score. So if your overall score was an 83, I would assume that the same analysis as the 81 would be accurate. And of course, this is just a test. Was it the short form or the long form?

Avatar f tn What you have is probably PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder. The assessment and diagnosis is made on basis of Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). It is treated with antedepressants and psychotherapy. A MRI of brain should be done to see whether this is due to traumatic brain injury or not. The cognitive impairment could just be due to concussion which at times persists for years and all of a sudden disappears. This does not have any long term complications.

You definitely should talk to your psychiatrist or the doctor who prescribed this medication - it's usually advisable to go off of anti-anxiety drugs (the ones that are benzodiazepies) but again, if the benefit outweighs the risks, then there's that to consider.

Avatar f tn Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder as I understand so yes it can be one reason your heart failure developed. I strongly believe mine happened because of high stress level for years and very high for a few months. Even with family history, viral infection, and long time not treated high blood pressure that all also factors, and I had them all ,if the stress level wasn’t that high that I had I probably never get down that suddenly and badly.
