Consequently, I have not had a flu shot in 12 years but today my doctor talked me into a pneumonia shot. About 10 hours after the shot I had sever diarrhea & then downright EXPLOSIVE vomiting. I'd just had low blood sugar even though I ate my dinner but the more juice I drank the more nauseated I felt - until I vomited. Now I feel almost 100% fine but I have never experienced vomiting like that in my life.

It sounds like she has a hypersensitivity or maybe allergy to the vaccine. I would call the doctor. You could ask the doctor for a steroid topical prescription or you could use OTC hydrocortisone in the meantime. Just don't get it in your eye or on your face. Wash your hands after using it. Also, benedryl or an antihistamine should help. If it is after hours ask the on call doctor for advice.

It was COVID pneumonia

My doctor gave me the flue shot and pneumonia shots last year and told me to get the flue shot this year as well.

I have asthma and 4 years ago I had pneumonia year after year. Than I started getting the pneumonia vaccine. I had no side effects from it expect no pneumonia.

I am 55 years of age and I have had Pneumonia twice. I asked my doctor if I could get the pneumonia shot this year since I struggled so much last year with my second bout of Pneumonia. He said I should only get the shot if I am 65 years old or diabetic. I do not want to struggle this year like I did last year. Am I too young? Am I not eligible? Is it a health risk for me to get this shot?

I got a Hep B vaccine years and years ago but I did not get my Hep A vaccine until this past year. I also got a pneumonia vaccine, a shingles vaccine, and a renewed tetanus-diptheria vaccine. Plus, the flu vaccine. Sorry you got so sick from it, but in the long run it is wise to get them.

As a middle-aged adult I am thinking of getting pneumonia vaccine as well. My doctor thinks that the current vaccine - which protects against 23 specific strains of pneumonia - is probably not of much use to an adult because adults are typically stricken by strains of pneumonia not defended by the current vaccine.

I have noticed that when I take my kids to the pediatricians office, where they constantly give out the chicken pox vaccine, I begin to experience MS symptoms within 2-3 weeks after that visit. Well, my father-in-law was in the last group getting that vaccine - before they took that dangerous vaccine off the market. That vaccine killed him. He was gone within a month of having received the swine flu vaccine. I later met at least a half dozen people who had been disabled in different ways from that vaccine - but I never ever met anyone who had actually gotten the swine flu!! Go figure!!

sorry i dont know about the pneumonia shots. i just had to jump in and concur about the flu shot idea of making some people ill. my husband says i'm nuts and its "just a coincidence". well he gets the flu shot every year and hasnt had anything wrong with him in 12 years besides a cold! then there's me...i caved into pressure and finally agreed to get the flu shot in November of 2006. Oh my the following year was horrible!
