Avatar n tn If you have a virus that resulted in pneumonia, while allopathic medicine has little in the way of anti-virals, there are plants that have anti-viral properties. Olive leaf and elderberry are two examples. Herb Pharm makes a tincture that helps with virus control. That being said, though, and assuming this is viral in nature, once you have pneumonia you have progressed significantly through the viral process already and the more important thing is clearing the lungs.
938718 tn?1323783514 As is recommended for other persons who are treated, antiviral treatment with zanamivir or oseltamivir should be initiated as soon as possible after the onset of influenza symptoms, with benefits expected to be greatest if started within 48 hours of onset based on date from studies of seasonal influenza. However, some data from studies on seasonal influenza indicate benefit for hospitalized patients even if treatment is started more than 48 hours after onset.
Avatar n tn I have been having health problems for a few years with no explanation. I have never smoked. I have been being treated for pneumonia for 3 months. The treatment is not working. The doctor has told me that event though he sees some changes in the area where the pneumonia is, that there is a white spot on my right lung that has appeared in all my xrays. He asked if I was sick before the pneumonia diagnosis and the answer is yes.

Avatar m tn To learn more, researchers have now gathered the best studies looking at acid-suppressing drugs and pneumonia. They pooled the results of these studies to see what conclusions they could draw from this larger body of research. What does the new study say? Overall, people taking acid-suppressing drugs were between 22 percent and 27 percent more likely to get pneumonia than people not taking these treatments.

Avatar f tn t know yet, will be retested in Feb. I stopped tx after 8 months because I had pneumonia for 6 weeks and after that some kind of infection every month. Just could not take it any longer. Thought I'd bounce back right away and am really down and out that I still feel so bad.
Avatar f tn If you get a different type of cancer or die of pneumonia from the treatment, again, a successful treatment. Until the profit is out of funding of studies and results, it will be difficult to get truly great info which is why so many "settled" therapies are unsettled by further research a few years down the road. So yes, there are "studies," but none that would meet the standards of peer review allopathic studies supposedly (but don't really) meet.
Avatar m tn KukkaMany Patients with ALTs in the High-Normal Range Have Liver DamageHistorically, researchers have assumed that HBV-infected people who have normal ALT levels have little or no liver damage and do not require treatment. However, recently the “healthy range” of ALT levels has been markedly reduced, and now Australian and Chinese researchers have found that many HBV-infected people with reportedly “normal” ALT levels have significant liver damage.

Avatar n tn The various causes of patch on a chest xray when you had chest pain as the chief complaint could be emphysema, pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung abscess, rib fracture, lobar atelectasis, malignant lesions etc. wait for the meeting, carry any old xrays or other imaging studies of chest for comparison. Make note of any constitutional symptoms like fever, cough, and weight loss. Consult a pulmonologist after your physician. Management would be according to the cause. Hope this helps. Take care.
