pneumonia

Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms that you have mentioned, the first possibility that comes to my mind is gall bladder colic or biliary colic. It can be due to cholecystitis(inflammation of gall bladder) or gall bladder stones. I would suggest an ultrasound abdomen to confirm the diagnosis. Other possibilities are irritable bowel syndrome, hepatitis(inflammation of the liver), kidney stones, pneumonia, musculoskeletal pain, lower rib fracture and malignancy.
Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar f tn So my dumba$$ coworker has been sick for more than a week, and today he came saying he might have had pneumonia. Now he's just coughing a lot, but when it started, two wednesdays ago, he was feeling horrible and didn't come to work on thurs or fri. He hasnt even been to the doctor, he just looked online at the symptoms and that's what he thinks he had.
Avatar f tn t have many girlfriends who are at my age and going through similar situation or even had gone through similar situation in the past. Avatar f tn I know herbal remedies and most over the counter drugs are out but does anyone have any tips for pregnant women who get sick a lot? So far I have had two colds, an ear infection and walking pneumonia and I'm only 16 weeks along in only the beginning of winter. The only advice my doctor gives me is to wash my hands a lot but this clearly isn't working. I got my flu shot so I'm not too worried about that but I know constantly being sick is not good either.
Avatar n tn That's not how you get pregnant. They're is no chance, as in zero, of you getting pregnant through multiple layers of clothing. Sometimes women skip their period due to illness or stress, both of which you have said that you are dealing with.

Avatar f tn But it is usually a result of some other kinda bug thats not treated resulting in that it causes fluid on the lungs, which takes a while to turn into pneumonia. If you arnt having symptoms of the original chest cold, or flu your fine.
Avatar f tn t have any symptoms in May. I never even had a cold so I had no idea about the pneumonia... I am a healthy female with no other health problems. Please help. This discussion is related to Pneumonia that won't go away.
Avatar f tn I feel your pain. My husband had pneumonia in July. As he was recovering i started to become sick. I had double pneumonia and broke two ribs coughing in August and after many meditations and Doctor's visits I am finally better. My baby is fine but it was definitely a stressor i didnt need while pregnant. Get to your doctor ASAP and have them monitor and medicate you. Believe me dont make the mistake i did.
Avatar m tn When your cd4 falls below 200. You wouldn't have PCP within 45 days of infection.
Avatar f tn How are you now? There are symptoms of aspiration pneumonia but they normally last longer than a short bit. https://www.healthline.com/health/aspiration-pneumonia#treatment. Please let us know how you are doing now.
Avatar f tn Are there other co-morbid medical conditions present? Pneumonia usually responds well to antibiotics. If the symptoms persist despite the prescribed medications, a repeat chest x-ray or imaging studies may help determine if the infection is still present. Other considerations to be ruled out include allergic issues as well. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My 16 month old male Siberian Husky has had what our vet is saying is pneumonia for a week and a half now. His symptoms before we brought him in were extreme fatigue, coughing and hacking up mucus multiple times an hour, runny nose then very stuffed nose, difficulty breathing and a slight fever (103). We had an xray done and they saw cloudy-ness all throughout his lungs, which led them to believe it was a bacterial pneumonia and not aspiration pneumonia.
Avatar f tn Yes I did tell them. The pneumonia symptoms are starting to clear up I don't have a fever, never had a cough, starting to breathe better, and I have a lot more energy but still a bit light headed and throat is kind of sore and my voice hasn't return fully. I have been tested will get the results tomorrow.
5915818 tn?1377748240 and runny nose for over three weeks and im seven months pregnant. I went to the doctor on Thursday and he basically didn't say anything about it. Its just getting worse and worse every day and it is even starting to keep me up at night. Ill go to bed at 10 then wake up between three and five then ill be up for the rest of the day( even tho i feel like i could fall asleep at any minute i cant actually fall asleep) and at three thirty i woke up barely able to breathe.
Avatar f tn The past few days I thought I had a minor cold since I was coughing a bit, have a headache, and feel a bit of pressure while breathing. I figured I would just wait it out because a cold isn't anything to worry about. Well, my husband had the same symptoms as well, but when he woke up today, it was harder for him to breathe so he went to the hospital and found out he had walking pneumonia but was given nothing to treat it because they said he has to get over it himself.
Avatar f tn Yes “walking pneumonia” is contagious. The development of more symptoms, in the face of antibiotic therapy, is worrisome as is the “side pain” which I assume to be pleurisy and suggests that this infection may fall into the category of complicated pneumonia. In this circumstance you should definitely request careful reevaluation by your doctor or his designate to include at a minimum a repeat chest X-ray, a complete blood count and culture of your sputum.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with pneumonia in early Jan. Several courses of antibiotics later and X rays, the pneumonia has gone but left some marks on the lung; scarring according to the doctors. Despite being able to cycle and run ok, I am still not feeling right and still have catargh on my lungs which is fighting to stay put. The worst is just not feeling that my head is connected, almost like I continually have had a glass of wine! Anyone else felt like this after pneumonia?
Avatar f tn I probably should have put this on the autism forum, but since I know most every one here, and we all have more in common I felt more comfortable just venting here. I am sorry for not keeping in touch the past few weeks. first week pneumonia, second approved for chemo, third no chemo, forth no chem. I dont even want to know what the ca125 is since my numbers are always running pretty high, anyway I am sorry.
Avatar n tn You have pneumonia while pregnant!?
Avatar f tn About a month ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Never been sick like this ever in my life. At the time I was pregnant and chalked it up to having a compromised immune system. Unfortunately, due to complications, I miscarried. I did begin to get well, but immediately following I experienced pain in my left lung and in the breast tissue. I am afraid as I'm starting think that I came down with the pneumonia the way I did because something else is going on.
Avatar f tn Hello, These symptoms can be due to bronchitis or pneumonia. Symptoms of bronchitis include Cough that produces mucus, Soreness in the chest, Fatigue, Mild headache, Mild body aches, Low-grade fever, Watery eyes and Sore throat. Diagnosis is done by physical examination. Sometimes chest X-ray may be needed. I feel that you should get yourself examined by a physician so as to reach a confirmatory diagnosis as treatment is diagnosis specific.
