Common Questions and Answers about Pneumonia symptoms in calves

pneumonia

Avatar f tn However over the past few days I have been feeling extreme weakness and mild pain in my legs, particularly my calves. They feel dull, achey and sometimes cramped. I also have this feeling in my arms, but only slightly. This is accompanied by headaches which are more to the back of my head which feels tight and has a full feeling. It's no better when I sleep and paracetemol doesn't really have any effect. Is this related or have you any ideas what this could be down to? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I have weakness in my legs, and had read that Actiflex (Manuka honey with bee venom) can reduce weekness in legs due to inflamation of the immune system After being on Actiflex for 1 week the weakness in my legs worsend, had stiffness in the calves, and mild pain in the calves. Since then I have discontinued taking Actiflex. However, it has been 3 days, and my symptoms still exist. Is there a treatment for the symptoms that the bee veno caused?
Avatar f tn But it is usually a result of some other kinda bug thats not treated resulting in that it causes fluid on the lungs, which takes a while to turn into pneumonia. If you arnt having symptoms of the original chest cold, or flu your fine.
Avatar m tn Since returning from holiday I have had numerous symptoms such as a cold, sore throat, dull groin pain both sides, muscle aches in my calves and hamstrings in both legs, shooting pains in my arms and armpits and soreness in the neck. I went to the GP and he could not locate anything wrong with my groin area or swollen nodes and put it down to a 'virus' or possible fatigue from the long haul flight.
Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar m tn When your cd4 falls below 200. You wouldn't have PCP within 45 days of infection.
Avatar f tn How are you now? There are symptoms of aspiration pneumonia but they normally last longer than a short bit. https://www.healthline.com/health/aspiration-pneumonia#treatment. Please let us know how you are doing now.
Avatar m tn (im just really worried) These past 2 weeks i have been having reddish bumps in my forearms and calves, some in my left thigh. They kinda resemble bed bug bites, but they did not disappear, it has been almost 2 weeks now. It is accompanied by pain in the calves and forearms, when i press the bumps they hurt. 1) Is this a symptom of any STD? 2) Can HIV cause this? 3) Is this just anxiety?
Avatar n tn My 16 month old male Siberian Husky has had what our vet is saying is pneumonia for a week and a half now. His symptoms before we brought him in were extreme fatigue, coughing and hacking up mucus multiple times an hour, runny nose then very stuffed nose, difficulty breathing and a slight fever (103). We had an xray done and they saw cloudy-ness all throughout his lungs, which led them to believe it was a bacterial pneumonia and not aspiration pneumonia.
Avatar n tn Lately, I have had trigeminal neuralgia as well as this weird stinging pain in both calves and my chest. As far as my chest, it feels like my nerve endings are on fire. This scares me alot since I recently had a PE in August. Has anyone else experience pain like this? It is not constant - has been coming and going for weeks now. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Recently I have noticed aching in my calves on both legs, almost like the muscle is contracting. Could this be a complication of my diabetes. I take 1000 mgs of Metformin twice a day.
Avatar n tn hello, i have hypothyroidism and wake up in the early morning with aches in my calves.. the pain literally wakes me up.. is this a common thing with this? thank you..
Avatar m tn I agree but the most common cause for cramps in leg muscles is a depletion of electrolytes in the area causing nerve misfiring, cramping the muscles. You may be short of salt, potassium, calcium or magnesium. Usually a pinch of extra salt on your food is sufficient and eating a banana.
Avatar m tn The following comes and goes not more than a few seconds muscle spasms in my feet, calves tingle all the way up to my knee, twitching over my entire body when at rest including eye twitching, real ache in both arms(this has improved since being on Lyrica), both hands tingle and numb some, thumb hurts sometimes when using it and NOT at all other times and the other thumb is beginning to hurt (the thumb issue really is worrying me), slight numbness in my cheek, ear and part of my head will tingle,
Avatar f tn Yes I did tell them. The pneumonia symptoms are starting to clear up I don't have a fever, never had a cough, starting to breathe better, and I have a lot more energy but still a bit light headed and throat is kind of sore and my voice hasn't return fully. I have been tested will get the results tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Yes “walking pneumonia” is contagious. The development of more symptoms, in the face of antibiotic therapy, is worrisome as is the “side pain” which I assume to be pleurisy and suggests that this infection may fall into the category of complicated pneumonia. In this circumstance you should definitely request careful reevaluation by your doctor or his designate to include at a minimum a repeat chest X-ray, a complete blood count and culture of your sputum.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with pneumonia in early Jan. Several courses of antibiotics later and X rays, the pneumonia has gone but left some marks on the lung; scarring according to the doctors. Despite being able to cycle and run ok, I am still not feeling right and still have catargh on my lungs which is fighting to stay put. The worst is just not feeling that my head is connected, almost like I continually have had a glass of wine! Anyone else felt like this after pneumonia?
Panda Try doing some of the same dances you used to do, more times/week. Or look into some yoga. Yoga is excellent for toning/firming the entire body.
Avatar f tn I have been having numbness in my feet and calves. Started out with my toes and feet years ago. Worked in the catering/photography business (still do photography) for the past 15 years. Never wore the correct shoes and had terrible foot pain, especially in the balls of my feet. Then the numbness came on. My mom passed away six months ago and I have been battling anxiety as well. Anyway, within the last six months the numbness has gotten worse. Has moved up into my calves.
Avatar f tn I have gotten Pneumonia 3 years in a row. I got the flu and Pneumonia shot this year and still got iPneumonia. What is going on with me. My doctor keeps giving me steroids that are blowing me up and not stopping me from catching this illness. Please help. Thank you.
5601163 tn?1370701672 Could be residual changes from the pneumonia -- many times the xray takes longer to completely resolve than the symptoms, even after a course of antibiotics. Sometimes, pneumonia develops in response to mild airway blockage from a mass or tumor, so if they saw something (even small or subtle), they probably just want a CT to make sure it's not something like that.
Avatar f tn Twitches (fasciculations) are rarely a part of MS unless associated with some other problem in the same muscles. MS symptoms do not occur symmetrically on each side (i.e., both calves, both eyes) unless there are lesions exactly the same on each side, and this rarely happens. And so on. The EMG/NCS testing was to find evidence of a peripheral nervous system problem, which cannot be MS.
