Avatar f tn • Under 3 months: Any fever of 100.4°F or higher, even if he shows no other symptoms of illness. If the fever develops after office hours or on a weekend, go to the emergency room. Young babies have a limited ability to fight illness because their immune system isn't fully developed. Young babies can’t tell you if they are really sick and there are some serious bacterial infections that they are more prone to, like kidney infections, blood stream, and pneumonia.
850054 tn?1238860616 Also, the doctor said he is not allowed to run or jump or play baseball until he sees the cardiologist. This is the hardest part because my son is VERY active. He had pneumonia in Janurary and was hospitalized for 4 days. Does this have anything to do with his heart issues. Also, he has only gained 4 lbs in the past 3 years but he eats tremendous amounts of food, even more than my 11 yr old. Is that in any way connected?

Avatar n tn Both atelectasis and emphysema are included under COPD because of collection of air in alveoli and collection of air in tissues simultaneously, but they have their own physiological pathology hidden behind. Pathophysiology of both the diseases are different and they have different evaluation for concluding diagnosis. If this definition does not clear your doubt, there is more clear way how to differentiate emphysema from atelectasis clinically.
Avatar n tn I did read up on it, online, at the library, everywhere. I know all about the pathophysiology and lack of treatment... but they never really talked about the clinical course and what to expect. If you have any experience seeing this problem and have some sense of the course, I would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks.
Avatar f tn lol Just a few weeks ago when I took my son to the doctor, his doc.( Dana Ankney, Forest Park Pediatrics) told me that it was okay to feed him eggs and he was barely six months. As long as the eggs are cooked and you're feeding him so he doesn't choke, he's fine.

Avatar n tn and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia. I was prescribed Robitussin with codeine to help me sleep, although all it really did was tire me slightly. After another week of feeling completely miserable I started to breath better, my nose dried out, and my cough produced less and less green mucus. Sleeping then was hard, but I was able to take my meds, settle down, sleep for about two hours, wake up again from coughing and repeat.
5601163 tn?1370701672 I recently underwent a two week course of Levaquin for pneumonia. On the follow-up visit with my doctor, a chest x-ray showed "right basilar opacity," which caused my doctor to order a CT scan. What does this mean?

Avatar f tn My baby has been diagnosed with pneumonia, a week ago. She still acts as if she is in pain, and has short rapid breaths. She is on Zeniquin, and a pain med. She was originally in an oxygen kennel for 2 days, and was pretty good when we brought her home. Now it seems like she gets these bouts of gasping for air, her gums are still pink. I am startin to think her vets arent sure what is wrong with her.

Avatar n tn I was feeling pretty bad coughing wheezing, bad chest pain. My friend and I diagnosed it as brochitis or pneumonia so I took 7 Levaquin, one a day for 7 days (had it in the house). Still felt bad after a week or so and went to my doctor who prescribed same Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days. My doctor ordered chest xrays and blood work. Blood work was just a little off she said not sure what was high or low as this was told to me over the phone.
