pneumonia on babies

my daughter is now 16 month old and they told be not to start them on any solid foods till five months i started her at 4 months and she is fine.. just do not put it in there bottles.

I had a ct. scan 3 weeks ago for severe pains in the lung area on my back..It showed pneumonia in the bottom of both lungs.. I took cipiro for 2 weeks...Felt better now Im coughing bad and coughing up yellow phelghm. New xrays showed nothing.Whats going on? And what kind of pneumiona lives in the bottom of the lungs? Called my primary care doctor and he wants to see me tomorrow to see if I have pneumonia. I have asthma, and am prone to pneumonia. I had pneumonia in my first trimester with my first pregnancy, and lost the baby at the end of my 12th week. I'm kind of freaking out. Now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, I'm worried about preterm labor now (a lot of websites say it can happen with pneumonia). Any words of encouragement?

I had my first at 34+5, he was in special care for 3wks with feeding issues but it was only because he was so small, we think he had IUGR due to a true knot in the cord! Like comments above, most babies at this gestation are healthy and don't require a lengthy stay in hospital. Don't worry I'm sure everything will be fine.

I never heard of a yeast infection on your neck, but she had it. Pneumonia scares me! She did start coughing on Sat. but we thought it was because my husband gave her his cold. I'll watch her. Thanks for the info!

You could have develeped bronchitis or pneumonia at this point since your immune system is weak during pregnancy, I got walking pneumonia my second trimester just by going for a short walk on a nice day when I was getting over a cold : (. But definately drink lots of orange juice and an extra dose of vitaman c to help beat whatever you have.

I also need advice, has anyone else supposed to be having chemo and contracted pneumonia? What was done and when could you get on with what you really are supposed to be doing?

Around 9/27 I had the start of bronchitis & was taking some mucinex with a leftover antibiotic. Each day I thought I'd wake up feeling better. Unfortunately each day seemed a lil worse. After a week of suffering I went to urgent care. Apparently just by listening to my lungs, I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was put on Albuterol in the nebulizer & Biaxin (antibiotic) & they said continue the mucinex.

I heard that babies don't poop until their out of the womb....anymore info on this one would be very interesting....

I have a bag of mixed blessings, I return to the dr on friday with my husband, but right now I have severe mycoplasma pneumonia with a titer of 790, the doctor who has practiced medicine for years has told me that he has never seen a blood titer over two hundred. I was prescribed erythromyacin, and hopefully this will work to fix the problem. If not, I dont know what to do.

Prayers but don't stress all babies handle it diff my daughter has respiratory problems when she gets fever it never fails to hit 105 scares the crap out of me but her body handles it my neice had 103 and was a very I'll child anyway praying make sure they test for rsv and ear infections

m making an educated guess based on the fact that they give pregnant women flu shots because they can pass on some of that to their babies before their born to help them fight off any germs they may encounter when they're first born. I was given the flu shot in November of last year b/c my son was going to be born smack dab in the middle of flu season (January). So, he may have had enough of my immunities passed on that he didn't get sick.

and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia. I was prescribed Robitussin with codeine to help me sleep, although all it really did was tire me slightly. After another week of feeling completely miserable I started to breath better, my nose dried out, and my cough produced less and less green mucus. Sleeping then was hard, but I was able to take my meds, settle down, sleep for about two hours, wake up again from coughing and repeat.

You son was just diagnosed with pneumonia but consistently complains that his feet hurt. He's on antibiotics and all and drinking well. I'm just worried about him saying his feet always hurt. He's a 3 year old boy. Any suggestions or help?

I just got done with 2 rounds of antibiotics for a stubborn uti (not unusual for me) and now I'm getting pneumonia. I know the burning in the back of my throat and bottom of my lungs. I get it every year and I just got off the antib's we would normally use for it.

Hi everyone i have smoked for the past14 years and just had a call from my doc to say, i have a shadow on my left side of my chest can anyone give me an answer as to how bad this could be ........ Past Problems Had ct scan for pains in my kidneys about 2 years ago, it only showed up that i had 1 kidney so went back to my doctor and then he arranged another scan that showed up {right enough} 1 kidney and i had to stay in hospital for 3 days with neumonia..

I have swallowing disorders that put me at risk for aspiration pneumonia. Are there any tests that can be done to differentiate the type of pneumonia? I have had several xrays done on my chest and was put on antibiotics.

Several courses of antibiotics later and X rays, the pneumonia has gone but left some marks on the lung; scarring according to the doctors. Despite being able to cycle and run ok, I am still not feeling right and still have catargh on my lungs which is fighting to stay put. The worst is just not feeling that my head is connected, almost like I continually have had a glass of wine! Anyone else felt like this after pneumonia?
