My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!
Two of the times we were sent home and told to rest and keep up on fluids. The third visit he was finally given a chest XRay which confirmed severe pneumonia. He has been in the ICU for 3 days now and has rapidly deteriorated. The prognosis is lesions/ nodules surrounding the heart that need to be removed which they are unable to do until his pneumonia clears up. There is an apparent Staph infection of one of the nodules inside a ventricle of the heart.

m very upset that hepatitis b vaccination was not recommendation when he was a baby. (1978) He remembered being hospitalized at the age of 7 with pneumonia. Could this have been a misdiagnosis of pneumonia instead of hepatitis b? One shot of I think the globulin injection (i think that is what it is called) would have cured him from this illness if it was diagnosed and his shot record evaluated in 1990 would have told them that he does not have teh hepatitis b vaccine.

How old is your son? Are these baby teeth or adult teeth? I wouldn't pull any adult teeth unless absolutely necessary. Yes, the wisdom teeth could potentially fill in that space but there are complications with that. It is possible...especially in older adults as well as in those who are on medications such as steroids (they are immunosuppressed) for example. Normally, people do have temps...I don't get really sky high temps when I get pneumonia (I get it frequently), actually I am low grade to 101'ish.
