Avatar f tn Also I'd like to know if there is anything special that I should have for a premature baby, one of those motion sensitive monitors? I'd like to breast feed, should I invest in buying a pump? Any thing at all that will help me take care of a premie when I am able to take him home?
Avatar f tn Is premature birth genetic or does it just depends on how your body deals with the pregnancy and everything? I was 4 days premature, my little brother was 6 weeks premature and my babies father was 5 weeks.
7702223 tn?1394319054 Premature babies honestly amaze me. Eepecially the ones who born at less than 30 weeks. It's amazing how something so tiny and fragile can survive. Ladies that have premature babies I honestly salute you that is such an amazing yet scary expiercence. I thank god every day that my daughter stays in there another day. My friend recently just had her baby at 34 weeks and I just find it so crazy because I'm 34 weeks and I can't imagine my baby being born yet!
4981292 tn?1381256805 My son was born premature. The way they explained it to me is: for example when he was technically 3months old they said he was 1.5months. So if he didn't meet the normal 3month milestones it was because he was early. They counted the months based on when his due date actually was. They only did that till he caught up which didn't take too terribly long but they wanted to assure me that he was on track.
Avatar n tn My pediatrician said at 6 months. NOT in the bottle, they can aspirate it and get pneumonia. From a spoon.
8769357 tn?1402719875 Hey moms, I was wondering how many of you had premature babies and at what week and how did you babies do. I'm 32 and half weeks and was told yesterday that I'm in premature labore. I'm quite worried for the baby as to survival.

Avatar m tn In 2nd baby it is 4mm PDA even after 5 days ibrufen medicine there is no reduction in size. Forunately both the babies are active taking almost 15ml milk feed. My concern is do we require any surgery to close this PDA. Also both the babies has diagnoised with muscular VSD, for which dr. mentioned it will close by itself.

Avatar n tn Allow your daughter to lie on her tummy and engage her in playing by dangling something in front of her or making funny faces. Take care to do this just above her head level. This will encourage her to look up, pull up her chest and strengthen her shoulder. Gradually encourage her to move towards you or the toy by gently stepping back just out of her reach. Hope this helps. Take care!
3100848 tn?1354609913 It can be dangerous as it can cause your baby to have a premature bowl movement with can lead to pneumonia and ear infections. Also you'd probably puke it up instantly lol i hear of that happening often. And i think it only makes contractions more frequent...it doesn't start them. And you may get some yucky BM.
Avatar m tn Jaundice is common in newborns, especially premature babies. Does your son have hepatitis or are you asking if hepatitis could be causing the jaundice? Your baby's bilirubin level is not high enough for you to be worried, 25 is considered dangerous and he's well below that. He's being treated by the drs with ultra violet therapy and that's the best thing to do for him. Try not to worry. Be happy that the other tests are clear.

And moms who actually gave birth to premature babies, did u have the feeling or that maternal instinct where ur feeling strongly tells you your baby is coming earlier than expected? Im almost 30wks,due 4th April but i have this irritating feeling where i feel like my baby is going to come out early.my mom gave birth to me prematured where her water just broke and went to labour.
