Avatar f tn I was pregnant with twins. Lost my son at 23 weeks. Delivered my daughter at 27weeks. She'll be 2 in aug. We were in the NICU for 3 months. You can expect baby to get a couple blood transfusions and be on a ventilator for at least a month. Feeding tube for almost your whole stay. Any other questions just ask. :) everything will be fine. The alarms will scare the crap out of you every time. Dont worry. Nurse comes in every time it goes off.
5752933 tn?1383533437 I had my daughter at 34 weeks due to low fluid. She weighed 5lbs 9.9oz and was completely fine and healthy.
Avatar f tn I was born a month early, I only weighted 4 LBS 9 Oz, and I was discharged after 24 hours, but my mom had some complications during the birth so she had to stay for 2 weeks in the hospital, which meant so did I.
Avatar f tn Those babies are usually fine and are in the hospital for at longest a week so they can make sure they know how to eat. My son was a preemie. As far as weight every baby is different if I were to guess I would say around 4 and a half pounds.

Avatar f tn I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. And I'm dilated to a 3 we are expecting her to be here in a week. I haven't leaked yet or anything. So does your milk come in after birth or will it nother cone at all since she's gonna be early?
11715504 tn?1422286415 Second time in a row I'm at the hospital for blood gushing out. I'm 26 weeks and I Will be entering my third trimester tomorrow. My cervix is still closed but he said it's bleeding which is not a very good thing I'm so worried because this has been a problem since March and I need some closure. Any of you ladies gone through the same thing and didn't have a preemie? Last week I had to get steroid shots to mature his lungs just in case he wants to come early.

Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar f tn Dr in ER thought she had Pulmonary Embolism. Her Dr saw her in hospital today and said she has pneumonia and caused her to have blood coming up when she coughed.
8769357 tn?1402719875 Hey moms, I was wondering how many of you had premature babies and at what week and how did you babies do. I'm 32 and half weeks and was told yesterday that I'm in premature labore. I'm quite worried for the baby as to survival.
Avatar f tn Wow. I e had contractions in my back since last night. My midwife told me my cervix was tilted backwards yesterday and when I looked it up it means your uterus is more towards your back. So I think that's why I've been in so much back and side pain. I'm scared to go back in b/c if I'm at a three ill be admitted but if I went now at least my hubby is off work. Right now its calmed down but still hurting. It's just making the right decisions before its too late.
Avatar m tn First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. I want to know if there is anyway to help prevent reccurence of pneumonia? Will there be any damage to his lungs because of reccurence of pneumonia?
Avatar f tn I had my son last year at 36+1 weeks. I think is genetics, my mom had me about the same time but also was going through a lot of stress. Now I'm 32+2 weeks and been really stressed. Early in pregnancy, doctor told me I have a 30% chance to go earlier. We didn't even do a a baby shower yet but hopefully soon. Also she's dropped since 27 weeks and feel pressure, constant Braxton hicks, went to ER at 30 weeks with contractions 2 to 5 min apart. Anyone went through this?
Avatar n tn My sister gave birth a baby yesterday at 27th weeks 3 days of her pregnancy, natural birth. Her water got broken and she is in the hospital for one week. Baby's weight is 840 grams. He is in NICU. Everything seems fine with him except the risk of jaundice and infection. Please give me some advice about how we should work with him for his secured tomorrows. How much is his chances of survival? We just don't want to Lose him in any cost.

Avatar f tn i had a 27 weeker about 21 months ago and she also had trouble tolerating food. so i think it is normal for that to happen with most preemies. hang in there you will have lots of ups and downs. but the residuals will slow down. breast milk is best for all preemies. is your daughter breast feeding?
