I was born in 1989 at 25.5 weeks gestation. I worry about having a AVM (arterio venous malformation) because i waa a severe preemie. Does anyone know if us preemies are checked out for AVM's? If I had one would I be one of the ones to know since I was a preemie?

Second time in a row I'm at the hospital for blood gushing out. I'm 26 weeks and I Will be entering my third trimester tomorrow. Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....

Wow. I e had contractions in my back since last night. My midwife told me my cervix was tilted backwards yesterday and when I looked it up it means your uterus is more towards your back. So I think that's why I've been in so much back and side pain. I'm scared to go back in b/c if I'm at a three ill be admitted but if I went now at least my hubby is off work. First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. i had a 27 weeker about 21 months ago and she also had trouble tolerating food. so i think it is normal for that to happen with most preemies. hang in there you will have lots of ups and downs. but the residuals will slow down. breast milk is best for all preemies. is your daughter breast feeding?
