[Abstract]
Objective To investigate the infection and prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the neonates whose fathers were positive with hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg).

The authors randomised neonates immediately after delivery to receive either hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) or placebo in addition to HBV vaccination (at 0, 6, 10 and 14 weeks). 259 neonates were included in the trial with 222 completing 18 weeks of follow-up. Only 62 (28%) reached the primary endpoint of freedom from infection and the development of an adequate immune response to the vaccine.

Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. I want to know if there is anyway to help prevent reccurence of pneumonia? Will there be any damage to his lungs because of reccurence of pneumonia?
It is now one of the most important agents of nosocomial infections especially in immuno-compromised individuals, neonates and patients with internal prosthetic devices. In these patients, the infection result from a compromise in both general and local defense mechanism, and inability to clear staphylococci from infected device because of a biofilm on the foreign body surface.

My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!
In most cases, Kennel Cough is more annoying to the owner than it is to the dog, because the dog hacks and coughs at all hours making it difficult for the owner to sleep or concentrate on anything but the hacking sound. RBCs should be "anucleated" as in "without a nucleus." Nucleated RBCs are abnormal in a peripheral blood smear beyond neonates. If Red Blood Cells in a peripheral blood smear show up nucleated you need to have this investigated by a hematologist/oncologist. Nucleated RBCs are very immature RBCs that should not be seen outside to bone marrow and may be a marker of significant disease.
Based on limited data, structural defects have been reported in neonates exposed to montelukast in utero; however, a specific pattern and relationship to montelukast has not been established. I probably should have put this on the autism forum, but since I know most every one here, and we all have more in common I felt more comfortable just venting here. I am sorry for not keeping in touch the past few weeks. first week pneumonia, second approved for chemo, third no chemo, forth no chem. I dont even want to know what the ca125 is since my numbers are always running pretty high, anyway I am sorry.

I was in the hospital from Jan. 17-23 Pneumonia in my Left "lobular pneumonia" here we are now on Feb 20, 2022 and my left rib cage feels like someone hit me hard there.. but my 02 is in the mid 90%.. but it really hurts to cough sneeze as you say burp.. which sucks because I am supposed to be trying to cough up remnants of the phlegm, But coughing is painful so tend to try to suppress it.. I have a Lung cancer screen CT this Tues the 22..
