Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be eczema or ringworm groin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. It does not look like any STD. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist as treatment for both is entirely different. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms and pictures it sounds like contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar m tn I mentioned that I noticed you cant put pictures up of body parts on this forum and that this is a PG 13 forum. I would never ask if I can put pornography pictures up. I took picture of this sick rash I have on my upper thigh or groin area. I wanted to post it up so there might be another person here who might have it and can tell me what it might be.

Avatar n tn You probably have eczema in the groin area. Their are dozens of posts on this site and others concerning the same symptoms. My whole scrotum turns red and sometime the leg creases. None of the medication the doctors gave me do anything. I do not itch unless it turns really red. But when you read about eczema it usually itches and turns red after you scratch it. I never scratch, but it turns red sometimes within minuets. The area gets so dark in color it looks brown.
Avatar m tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.

Avatar m tn I went to the dermatologist a while ago, and they diagnosed my issue as spongy (I guess spongiotic?) dermatitis. I have it on my underarms, although they look slightly different for both underarms. The left side looks like typical eczema. Red, scaly, patchy, and very itchy. My right side is a little harder to describe. When I first started getting it I thought it was ringworm. But the doctor's biopsy found no fungus. It never responded to any fungal medications anyway.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a really itchy red type of bumpy rash around my lower stomach, and groin area. It actually started in the groin area. I work in a refinery and have to use porta cans a lot. I don't know what it is, but it is very itchy, and very painful now. I have tried the clolotromin, and benedryl clear anti itch, but nothing is helping.
Avatar f tn hello just wondering if anyone could help me identify what skin conditions i have, i will post pics, one is on my hands, one on my penis, and the other in my groin, i know i should go see my gp just wondering whether you could tell me what it could be first?
1573600 tn?1301974932 I developed intense itchiness on the left side of my groin. The first time it appeared was four months ago. It went away for a while then came back early this month. The intense itchiness in the groin continued and now it's on both sides of my groin. Initially it started as a raised wrinkled bump. It is the same color as the skin around it. There are no blisters or open sores. The area becomes inflamed and thick when scratched.
Avatar m tn Check out "lichen schlerosos" online in a medical dictionary that shows pictures, and see if you can find some pictures on dark skin, and read the description. Maybe that's what's going on. The other thing that it might be is vitiligo, but I've never heard that it hits the pubic area more (or sooner) than other places on the body.
Avatar n tn It has never spread, and has always remained in the same place, right above and at the creases of my thighs and groin, along the edge of my pubic bush. The skin is kind of brown, and it exhibits reduced sensation, kind of like it's too dry. It doesn't noticeably itch. I am just puzzled, because it has never gone away for years, and I have no idea what to do about it.
Avatar n tn Jock itch, known scientifically as tinea cruris is a fungal infection that affects the skin folds in the groin or pubic region. It is uncomfortable, can be itchy, and usually presents as a red rash. It is more likely to occur in men , and is usually the result of exposure to and growth of the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. It may occur with more frequency if a person has excessive sweating in the groin region and does not wear moisture wicking clothing.

Avatar n tn My groin is always damp due to whatever this is. If i sit down for a period of time or if i am in bed with the covers on it become much worse. I asked my doctor and she had told me it is jock itch or just a sweating problem but i can garantee it is not either of those thing. I know ppl who have jock itch and it isn't that and it isnt causing me to sweat but to become damp and clammy. It might have moved to my feet too. They look normal but they constantly get wet.
Avatar n tn Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema Let us know if you need any further information. Avatar m tn You can start with eczema at any time in your life. I looked up pictures on the internet and they did resemble your rash. But that's not a definite diagnosis. I hope you will give the gluten free diet a try and see if it helps....but you have to be 100% gluten free...one little teeny weeny cheat can ruin your progress. But first try the omega 3's and evening primrose oil to see if that helps.
Avatar m tn Hi, Tinea cruris is a fungal skin infection of the groin. Some types of fungus germs (fungi) are commonly found on human skin. They usually do no harm. However, if conditions are right they can 'invade' the skin, multiply and cause infection. The conditions fungi like best are warm, moist and airless areas of skin such as the groin. A red rash then develops in the groin, usually with a definite edge or border. Both groins are commonly affected.
Avatar n tn My 18 month old developed a rash about two weeks ago that began as separate bumps that turned into a more sandpapery raised rash that started on the outside middle of his leg and now seems to be spreading as far down as his heel, as far up as his hip. I brought him to the doctor who quickly diagnosed it a s atopic dermatitis, gave me hydracortisone valerate and sent me on my way. He was busy. Driving away I realized that he didn't answer some of questions.
Avatar n tn Hi, Tinea cruris or fungal skin infection of the groin, presents with any of the following symptoms: groin becomes itchy and irritable, red rash with a definite edge or border. The conditions fungi like best are warm, moist and airless. Sometimes the infection spreads to the skin on other parts of the body. Over-the-counter anti fungal medications may help. Another differential is folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicles.
Avatar m tn no it is not first thing in the morning but during masturbation when there is an erection is when i noticed it. and not every time but this past time there was also a lot of itching in the groin area. so is it possible that it is just dry skin?
Avatar m tn t got solution, because doctor never find any kind of rashes, redness or bump in that area. My groin looks normal until I start itching; and then it gets dry like dry skin in any other part of body. While itching I see lot of black powder like shredding. After washing and applying coconut oil, it goes away almost (not completely) and comes back again in few hours. I try to keep my groin as clean as possible, washing and changing loose cotton undergarments twice a day.
Avatar n tn Hi, about a week ago, I started getting itchiness in the groin, two red rashes developed on both sides. these red rashes have red bumps on them which appear to be cracking slightly. surrounding my groin are tiny red bumps, these do not hurt but are not going away. I have tried using lamisil for the last few days as presumed it might be a fungal infection of some sort. Furthermore, I'v just noticed a kind of pimple about 2 inches above my penis in the pubic region, unsure if thats related?
