I kept this up until 6 weeks, then he just began refusing to eat from the breast...I think it's because he got so tired of me continually trying to latch him on properly that he got too frustrated and would just scream & cry. I then strictly pumped and supplemented with formula until 10 weeks, when I couldn't keep it up anymore do to my schedule.

Avatar f tn Breast feeding is better both for you and the baby. Also formula is expensive and babies from my personal experiences tend to be crankier and cry more. Everyone has their own perferences. Try it out and if it dont work for you then it didnt work.
408496 tn?1269603350 Okay - Who is breast feeding and who is bottle feeding? I think I am going to breast feed for a few months (have to go back to work after 8 weeks) and then I might pump for 1 month at work, then gradually make the switch to formula. My sister breast-fed her little one until she was one. She did not pump - she just sumplemented with formula while she was working, which is an option too.
Avatar f tn I breast fed, and really had no choice but to do it in public. It was either that or never leave the house. If there was a nursing room or a mothers room available, that's what I did, but otherwise..you can't ignore a screaming hungry baby. I was discreet about it though. I used a smock (there are literally hundreds of brands of breastfeeding smocks/aprons out there)..I'm a bit too conservative for anything else. I only had someone chastise me about it once or twice...
Avatar f tn Ya know, lots of women become nervous about breast feeding. In truth, babies come out instinctively knowing what to do. They are ready to go. It's a pretty natural process. Some women do have trouble and some babies do latch on incorrectly, but a lactation specialist works with you IN the hospital to kind of get things going smoothly before you go home from the hospital. And if it doesn't work out, lots and lots of women do bottle feed with healthy and happy babies. Just think .
Avatar m tn In a small study, phenytoin-induced seizures occurred most often in patients with serum phenytoin concentrations of 50 mcg/ml or higher.[393] Peripheral neuropathy, usually occurring weeks to months after drug initiation, has also been reported in patients receiving phenytoin. A single case report describes the onset of neuropathy within a few hours of drug administration.[9780] Adverse GI effects of phenytoin therapy include nausea/vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, and anorexia.

I responded that if my feeding my child offended her, she was welcome to take her meal and sit on the toilet to eat it but that my daughter and I were perfectly comfortable eating where we were.

Avatar n tn Using lanolin products helps so much with this, keep applying it constantly at first will help with the success, apply after probably each feeding. Your supply comes in after 2-5 days, mine started to come in the 2nd day and was fully in by the 4th day. You just have to make sure to feed them each time they want to eat, don't try to really give formula either because that will dwindled your supply since your body doesn't recognize you needing that supply to come in.
