It however says that initiation of Folic acid and phenytoin together is beneficial.
Since you can't go back and start all over again, you can take a small dose. It has been observed that as los as 1mg dose can perturb phenytoin’s levels, You may take doses lower than 1mg/day.

Thank you for your question, you are relatively fine with Phenytoin and the seizure episodes in a form of lack of speech are the residue of a generalized type seizure. I don’t have a full description of your consciousness during the lack of speech episodes to decide whether this start is a partial epilepsy which can continue in a generalized or it is a generalized one from the first moment..
Hello AB, welcome to the medhelp forum. Phenytoin can cause certain side effects like dizziness and mental confusion. Some people may also manifest incoordinate movements. Weight gain is not a documented side effect. It could be related to your alcohol consumption or wrong dietary habits and lack of exercise. An occasional one or two drink may be fine but moderate or large amount can cause significant increases in blood levels of phenytoin due to induction of hepatic enzymes.
It sounds to me more like a genetic thing going on. There is a dilution gene that might be coming into play here that I would suspect is more likely to be responsible for this. There are only a handful of breeds that are affected by the dilution gene, and the Newfoundland is one such breed. The dilution gene affects eumelanin, a pigment responsible for the black color, and phaeomelanin, a pigment responsible for brown colors.
During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.
it is not 250iu/ml, the test was made without dilution and it says superior to >250iu/ml.
Does a trace amount of hiv blood, maybe a drop at most, survive in water if it is in about 2 cups of cold water? Does the dilution factor make it non infectious? Seconldy, does soap and water kill hiv virus ?
I totally forgot to tell you that he is on Phenytoin 100mg once daily. Can this be continued and taken for a long period of time?

Ok assuming it's true then the challenge now is to find a place that does dilutions, and agrees to withdraw your blood, dilute it and send it to this lab. Does anyone have idea what lab this can done at preferably at California?

You are talking about immunotherapy?
If you are specifically found allergic to or having a hypersensitivity to the allergen or antigen of 'cockroach' - a solution with the antigen in many times dilution would be prepared and is given on a monthly basis or at fixed periodic intervals and the dilution decreased gradually - so that you are desensitized or are not allergic to it any longer.

t know anything about abott architect again but said they do quant by dilution method. May be the same. I think hardly anyone knows about abott architect in india perticularly North India.
Addition of other antiepileptic drugs like phenytoin,lamotrigene and sedatives will be helpful for controll of his night symptoms.
so since there are no diluitions the values very high are extremely precise, abbott architect needs dilution and if the tech makes a mistake during diluition there maybe an error of 500-1000iu/ml
A few weeks ago I woke up with yellow crust on the corner of my lips and it went away in 2 days, and today I woke up and it's in the exact same spot again except a little more then before. It doesn't hurt or itch, it feels like my lips are very very dry. I don't smoke, I have grandmal seizures and my medication is phenytoin and kepra but I didn't read anywhere that would be a side effect so I'm worried this could be a STD or something.

1:80 is "considered" as negative or as there's little diagnostic value
even if it is on the positive.
Negative would technically be the last dilution where there's no flurescense observed under the mircoscope and in your case it would be 1:160 (the amount of dilution doubles each time), but the one reported is the last one where there's observable presence of flurescence.
It can be confusing!
Are you gluten free and /or grain free and very low carb?
Got a call from local health dept.. they said I needed to come in and retest because the results came back 1:1 dilution.. she won't tell me what that mean exactly.. maybe she didn't know either.. just insisted I come in for retest... what does it mean?
