I believe it is caused by Biotin because I had a similar fit about three years when I stopped taking Biotin, but I did not see a link then; I got prescription Ativan for anxiety took it for only three nights and the problem went away almost instantly.
Avatar f tn During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.

Avatar m tn 5 kgs and was issued 15mg tablets, to be divided in half and taken twice a day. SInce taking the medication, my dog has been acting very different. He wanders relessly around the house, low energy and lethargic, staring as if in a trance, flying through air as if he's superdog. IT's all so unusual. Can you please share with me if you have experienced this with your pet? It's very sad to watch him go through this, and more so because I don't know what more I could be doing.

The vet immediately put him on phenobarbital and he has been taking 1 pill every 12 hours and so far he has not had another seizure since. Yesterday morning and this morning he woke up groggy and it looked as if his back legs are getting weak. When I let him outside this morning back legs gave out.

Avatar f tn I am an alcoholic and had been clean for over 15 years. I had been on phenobarbital for 28 years. My Dr took me off of phenobarbital and prescribed keppra. He said it would make feel better than phenobarbital did(fewer side effects like fatigue) within a couple of weeks, I started drinking again and haven't been able to stop. Is there any way that keppra could somehow be responsible?

So continuous blood and urine testing is essential to ensure a therapeutic level is maintained (at least every six months and more frequently if there are seizures or a changing pattern of behavior, causing dosages to be re-evaluated).

Basset/Beagle mix was officially pegged with epilepsy about 2 months ago after she started having multiple seizures in a day. She was initially put on Zonisamide but after 2 weeks, she had a couple more seizures. At that point the docs added Phenobarbital. We've had her blood tested and the PB is at the proper levels in her system. The good news is she's not had any seizures since then...
Avatar n tn Thank you for your question, you are relatively fine with Phenytoin and the seizure episodes in a form of lack of speech are the residue of a generalized type seizure. I don’t have a full description of your consciousness during the lack of speech episodes to decide whether this start is a partial epilepsy which can continue in a generalized or it is a generalized one from the first moment..

Avatar f tn my nan has been suffering with dizzy spells for many years now but seems to be getting worse and more frequent she has lost alot of weight and has cholestrol and blood pressure problems but its the passing out that really is affecting her quality of life and im scared she will just refuse to go out as she is begginning to do so as she is scared to fall and hurt herself .
