Can a perispinal etanercept injection help heal severe pain linked to the piriformous muscle?

this mode of drug delivery with etanercept is still in late experimental stage. Hence it is difficult to comment on long term side effects. Please discuss this in detail with your doctor. If there is no apparent spinal cord or spinal nerve compression then maybe you could opt for physiotherapy, traction and other manual therapy along with known pain relief medications for this. After this diagnosis I was told to continue with my Gabapentin {3x a day @300mg} but I was also told that a possible Botox shot in the surface area of my left calf might also end this pain. Can anyone tell me what possible effects the Botox shot might have on me such as adverse reactions etc. What does it do to the nerve that is probably exposed in my left calf that is causing this electrical shock symptoms and can the shot of Botox solve this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.

Cancer removed May 22, 2007, chemo July 2nd through October 8, 2007, and radiation on left breast November 2nd through December 26, 2008. I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?

I am also a breast cancer survivor, however as I am triple negative, the hormonal drugs are not effective for me so unfortunately I cant speak from experience. He had a third seizure there and the vet diagnosed epilepsy. He is on phenobarbitol and had no side effects until last night when he vomited and started head twitching. He is drooling a lot and a bit wobbly. Is this typical? Will it stop ?

Has anybody gotten a stuffy head and "funny feeling" eyes as a side effect from SSRI's. I have had these side effects before but they went away after a month or so. I'm on Celexa and this stuffy feeling(like you are coming down with a cold) seems to be sticking with me. The med is working well except for this uncomfortable feeling in and around my eyes.

As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
