Common Questions and Answers about Period cycle irregular

Avatar n tn I didn't fall pregnant and on my 28th day I didn't get a period so started the clomid on the 2nd day of what should have been my period. Now I am in the week I should be ovulating but instead I have started a period. I was wondering i it can be normal for the body to take awhile to calm down into a cycle or what. I am on 2 tablets a day for 5 days and taking metformin 3 times a day.
Avatar n tn Hello, Menstrual cycles are considered normal from 21 to 35 days. However stress can also make periods irregular. Other causes of irregular periods could be due to hormonal imbalance, stress, chronic illness, polycystic ovarian disease, thyroid gland disorders or diseases, pituitary gland tumors or cyst, galactorrhea, prolactinomas etc. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I thought this might be implantation bleeding, however it lasted for 6 days and the bleeding got heavier, not like a normal period though. Also it wasn't really red blood like a normal period, and it wasn't heavy enough to even need a tampon, it was just one wipe when I went to the bathroom. I've taken a pregnancy test and it's negative, and I don't feel pregnant or anything. I don't know if this bleeding was my period but it had just come early, or if it was something else.
Avatar n tn and you have a regular cycle of approximately 28 days, this may indeed be normal. The average menstrual period for women is 3-5 days with a cycle occurring every 28 days. The fact that your period is only 2-3 days in duration may be entirely normal. Most birth control pills will tend to shorten the duration of women's periods as well as make the periods, themselves less "heavy".
Avatar n tn Since miscarriage in July I have had irregular spotting 3-5 days before period, and then I only have bleeding for one or two days. Is this hormobal imbalance I had progest level in November and it was 17 my doc said normal. What is causing this?
Avatar n tn So many things can make your cycle irregular. Stress, meds, increase or decrease of physical activities, along with a number of other things. Have you made any changes in your regular every day activities lately?
Avatar n tn My cycle had returned while nursing still in december but is very irregular, having one about every 55 days. I got my period April 17th, which meant I wasn't due for the next until June 10th. Today I just took a pregnancy test knowing it was preobably still to early but it came up positive right away. I was just wondering if anyone knows if maybe my cycle was different this month because I quit nursing or if i just found out super early.
Avatar f tn When someone is irregular with her cycle, when is the right time for her to have intercourse with her partner to have a baby.the cycle length is 4 and 39.
Avatar n tn If you are trying to just regulate your cycle those are options, but ttc is a different story. If it is PCOS that is causing your irregular cycles diet and exercise can help to regulate your cycle too. I know it is annoying hearing that all the time, but a lower carb diet (more like a diabetic diet), and exercise helps regulate your cycle - my favorite diet is the Glycemic Index.

Avatar f tn It has been a little over an year that I stopped using contraceptive pills, I had irregular periods before the marriage( say my cycle was about 40-45 days) too It has been a little more that 60 days that I had my period now and my gync suggested to take Prometrium 200mg to help jump start the period. My question is how safe is it to take these pills and if its alright to wait with a missing period- how long would it be?
Avatar m tn I am 33 years old. I have never had an irregular period until now. I missed a period in August. I have had my period for the last 14 days and it is heavy. I have had bloodwork and an ultrasound it is all normal. I am trying to conceive so my gynecologist wants me to just sit back and wait. He doesn't want me to take any hormones. I am fine with waiting but am getting nervous. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn It's hard to have an irregular period, I agree. You may just have a very long cycle for whatever reason. What you should do is start tracking it so you can keep count of the days and see if it is actually irregular in that it comes at different times or if it is actually a long cycle. Or maybe you already are. But looking to see how many days over the course of a few cycles is very helpful. I use My Cycles which is the MedHelp app and can be found in the above tool bar under health tools.
763297 tn?1281383025 Hi everyone. I am extremely irregular with my period. I just got it after going 7 months w/o getting it. I took fertilaid for 2 months and then it came but I stopped because it seemed pointless. The doctors always tell me I need birth control to regulate myself but i want something that will still allow me to become pregnant. I want clomid but they wont give it to me, they say i need to see the fertility specialist which will cost me $350 just for the consultation.
