It sounds like you were on either a form of vicoden or norco (norco is a pretty bright yellow oval/oblong shaped pill). it's what I take currently for back pain when my dr's aren't being lazy w/calling in the prescription (i'm monitored... of course) Norco is strong, 10mg hydrocodone and 350 tylenol.. I have been trying to get off percocet. It started out bu just taking it here and there. But now I am up to 8-10 a day and Its all I think about. I buy off the strret. My doctor doesn't even know. I started taking percocet in june of 09 for a hernia sx i had, I have been taking them ever since basically for fun, the energy and the happiness. I want to quit cold turkey i want NOTHING more to do with percocet. Today is my first day not takin anything. On any given day i was taking 3 or 4 of them... Is the pill. Oxaydo 5mg tabs, just like taking a percocet 5/325 ? They are suppose to be a deterrant. So do they act just as the actual percocet pill?

i have been takeing percocet for 2 years for back pain when it started it was 1 10 mg pill every 6 hrs. i now take 360 or more per mo.my doctor gives me 160 per mo.

plu takes mind off laying there just thinking about pill. Want have worse w/d nose may hurt a bit depending how long been snorting. May miss snorting if your nose starts bother you bad message and let you know what to do. I had snorted for yrs and my nose was mess but i healed it now fine.

My dr prescribed norco 10/325 2x aday and percocet 10/325 2xday for herniated disc and pinched sciatic nerve but didn say how to take it...have called him but havn't had a return call...Please help!!!

I had major back surgery, a four level fusion, in october 2006. I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". I stopped going to therapy in july, last year, put I continued to need the pain meds.

I can relate to all of you on the symptoms your having from not taking percocet I have been taking percocet for about two years now. I work alot and finding time to curb this addiction is becoming very difficult. I have tried many times to kick this thing every time i have failed. I just wanted to Thank everyone for all their support and help with my Taper . I am on 1.5 pills now so thats 7.5 mg.'s a day. I started at 10 pills 50 mg.'s a day, and its been hard mostly mental and a littel anxiety, I had a acouple of days were I cheated but then I got right back on the wagon. Without finding this forum I probably would of been taking more than 10 pills a day by now.

If anything they will just make them reduce the amount of Tylenol in Vicodin and Percocet or take it out completely and prescribe the pain pill and add a second pill like tylenol in a smaller strength.......I don't see either one of those meds going off the market completely especially since Vicodin is the most prescribed painkiller in this country.....

I have only been taking percocet for less than 3 wks now, (had an Acl repair on my knee) and by wk 2 I was on 3 percs a day, then when I dropped down to 2 thats when the horrible withdrawals came. I would get horrible stomach cramping, diarreah, and sweats for about 5hrs or untill my next dose. Then I realized i was in fact having withdrawls and started breaking up the pills through out the day, and I have enough pills left to drop 1/4 pill every 2 days.

So over the course of 2 days, I took 4 halves of Percocet. I cut them and half and took one in the morning and one at night for two days. Since then my chest and stomach have had a pulsing feeling of a sharp kind of hot pain. This pulse happens about once every minute or so.

I would go with the oxycodone (percocet) over the hydrocodone (vicodin), because it's possible to get the oxycodone in it's pure form in a pill without the tylenol in it. The -cet suffix on the percocet is what denotes the acetominophen or Tylenol. In the generic form, it would give the mg strength of the pill (ie, 5/500) and then say APAP on the label.

Hello!! I also abused Percocet. You are early in your withdraw...it is going to take some time. The first week is pure hell I'm not going to sugar coat it. You will get through this!!!!!i am on day 19 today and still dealing with issues. After the first 7 days the physical withdraws will subside quite a bit. Stock up on items in the Thomas recipe...they will help!!!! How much and how long were you taking the percs? Stay strong and good luck to you!!

5 mg and 10mg. Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Oxycontin is oxycodone in a time released pill. They used to make a capsule of 15mg of fast release oxycodone that people called percocet 15's but that was a misnomer. I'm not sure that they still make them here in the US.

I take Opana 20 mg bid. I take 1-2 Percocet 10/325 for breakthrough. I've ran out of Percocet. I have some Opana 15 mg that I cut into 1/4ths. I took 1/4 and felt better. I know it says not to cut or crush it, I'm just trying to replace the Percocet till I can get another prescription. Tanks.

Percocet is Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. Percocet is a brand name and there is no liquid Percocet. There is a liquid version of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen called Roxicet, however. It's not necessarily measured in mg's though. It's measured in ml's in which 5ml contaings 5mg of Oxycodone and 325mg of Acetaminophen. Now that I've written all of that...I have to ask..why do you ask?

Congrats on 4 days! Taking another pill will just prolong the withdrawals. Try to stay the course without taking opiates. I realize the lack of sleep is hard. Try OTCs if you can for sleep. Do you have any support?
