Any over the counter cough meds do not work. Seems like the only thing that helps this cough is codeine medicine or like percocet pain medicine...in which both is hard to get doctor to give prescription for. Can you help with any suggestions on home remedies that i could try? Please help!

Thank you, Mike! I actually went in today to have him check it. Sure enough, I had a dry socket. Sunday is when I really, really started having pain. He used some clove oil packing today that brought some much needed relief. That clove oil is now my new best friend. It brings better relief than advil or percocet. I haven't taken a Percocet today but used Advil and seem to be doing 100% better. Thank you for your response! Much appreciated!

I'm on day 10 of withdrawling off percocet and I can't stop filling up with this uncomfortable stomach acid... Green and yellow. I've tried Prilosec,tums, and drinking tons of water. What should I do? Also what food do you suggest I try eating?

I recently was taking prescribed pennicillin and percocet after a biopsy that i had on my thigh. Shortly after i stopped ( a week ago) taking the medicine my left outer lip on my vulva became very swollen, however the swelling went down day by day and is now gone. m percocet addict so I sure do understand the hold these devils have on a person. Its like heroin in pill if you ask me. I can't believe it but I've been off them a year and you can do it too! I think you should be completely honest with your doctor. He will understand, not be shocked and will help you through this. He cannot write your condition on a sick note because it violates doctor patient confidentiality laws . Its strickly between you and him. Don't be scared.

I don`t know if percocet is like darvecet by the physical part took a good week to get past cold turkey. The mental part is alittle harder. but you can definatley do this!! Today is day 48 for me and this site will help you ALOT!

I had major back surgery, a four level fusion, in october 2006. I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". I have been trying to get off percocet. It started out bu just taking it here and there. But now I am up to 8-10 a day and Its all I think about. I buy off the strret. My doctor doesn't even know. I am trying the taper method you spoke about..In the last 12 hours I have only taken two percocet at 3am when I couldnt sleep anymore..had had nothing since 4pm yesterday...I have not taken any Oxy IR's since one yesterday morning so almost up to 24 hrs on that one and no T3's since as well...figure only two percocet when I got up instead of 4 with a 20mg IR and some T3 has to be a step in the right direction isnt it??? Hello!! I also abused Percocet. You are early in your withdraw...it is going to take some time. The first week is pure hell I'm not going to sugar coat it. You will get through this!!!!!i am on day 19 today and still dealing with issues. After the first 7 days the physical withdraws will subside quite a bit. Stock up on items in the Thomas recipe...they will help!!!! How much and how long were you taking the percs? Stay strong and good luck to you!!

Yes I have back problems and a l/knee problems, My Dr gives me 4 ea a Day Percocet 10/325 how many in a 24 hour period can i take without it bothering me as far as too Much, Sometimes I go to bed Hurting so bad that I cant sleep very good at all. I only take them when I hurt but would it be safe to take another one at night to go to bed that would be 5 a Day spaced out over 24 hours, Thanks for yalls advise.

Hi Has anyone successfully tapered off percocet? or is it too strong of a drug to taper down with?

i have been taking percocet 15mg for about 3 years and there are many times when i wished i didnt have to take this. Its not neccesarily effecting my way of living but im worried about how long i need to be on this. I have terrible back issues and these are the only meds that allow me to go about my day. when someone is on pain meds for that long is it possible to just detox or am i possibly looking at suboxin because i do look forward to the day that im 100% clean free and clear all the way.
