Percocet xanax interaction

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet xanax interaction

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 34 year old single mother and I'm addicted to Percocet. It started like everyone else I'm sure with a dr script , then before I knew It my grandmother was selling them to me.. She has since passed away I was promoted to my job and moved to a new state and I have been taking them steadily now for 3 years! I can't believe it has been three years! I am done! I don't want to take them anymore!
702513 tn?1228516297 Your Husbands sleepiness sounds excessive so I wonder if he is taking his meds as prescribed? What other meds is he taking. It could be an interaction of meds too. There are many meds out there that people are using which are not opiate related. I would google "non-opiate pain meds" and see what you come up with. It wouldn't hurt to have a list that you could take into the Doctors office so that you could discuss the different options out there. I wish I had better advise for you.
Avatar m tn I was left with anxiety and insomnia from my prior treatment. I take 5mg Ambien and .05mg Xanax in the evenings to help me relax and sleep. I also suffer from chronic back pain and use .25mg of Oxycodone when needed. I also use a drug called Acyclovir 200mg daily to control herpes virus. My concern is that these drugs may effect the treatment with Sovaldi/Olysio. I want to beat this virus this time! My Dr. knows of the drugs I take but doesn't seem concerned about their use while on treatment.
Avatar m tn As im naturally an introvert and pessimist, ive never been interested in social functions or social interaction. Ive been that way my whole life, that's why i appreciate the way they make me feel so much. This is a problem to me obviously because im taking a narcotic that is not prescribed to me, on a regular basis. I dont lie and steal to get more pills, anybody that ask me knows exactly what i take and how many, im just an honest person, always have been.
Avatar f tn I am on day 2 of trying to get off of 6 years of Lortabs, Oxy, Percocet, and Methadone. It all started 6 years ago when I went to a mental health clinic because I had been feeling extremely depressed and crying for several weeks. They put me on some anti-depressants, xanex, klonopin, and Lortabs, I have been going every month for 6 years and have graduated to Percocet - 125 per month, Oxy - 60 per month, Xanex 90 per month, klonopin 60 per month.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed percocet for cronic back pain, and as I moved to a different state, started going to a Pain Mgt Center, well long story short, I went from 40 percocet 5/325 to over 240 percocet 7.5/325 and then on top of that I was given the "patch" at first it was like 50mcg then 75mcg then 100 mcgs.
388261 tn?1215403444 (I take 4 Xanax or if I want to go natural Sam-E with Hops per 24 hours) But no more than 8-10 days, you don't want to get hooked on that demon Xanax. (Believe me, Xanax wd's SUCK) More hot baths. Lots of water to flush the system. FOOD - Fresh veggies, greens, blueberries, protein, good stuff for your body. Suggestions for rich detox foods are: broccoli, red and green vegetables, cauliflower, beets, onions and garlic.
Avatar m tn I am on Morphine and Percocet but I have heard good things about it as the patch lasts 7 days versus hours. The best of luck to you. I hope you feel better soon. I am sorry to hear about the lack of energy you have now being without the hydrocodone. But you must understand that this side effect of opioids is short lived unless the dose is continually escalated in short periods of time. Even if you would have stayed on hydrocodone, the energy effect would have began to diminsh.
Avatar n tn One gives me 90 vic a month and the other gives me 60. The same is w/ Xanax. One gives me 60 (.5) monthly and the other is sporadic in fills and numbers. Now, I have pending surgery Friday and I am afraid that this will be some "third" doctor thrown into a mix that i never meant to be illegal... And, w/ this "new show your driver's license" I am paranoid that I will have no pain meds for what everyone agrees is a very painful surgery.
Avatar n tn I have become addicted to Pain Medication from Lortab to Vicodin to Percocet. I WANT OFF ! I have no more pain medication, it's all gone. How do I become the person I want to be - PAIN MEDICATION DRUGE FREE. I am dead serious, I need help and don't know what way to turn. If you've been through this give me your insite.
Avatar n tn If you do not feel sick, try lowering it the next day by 5mg per dose (as I said, this would be easier with percocet, as cutting up an oxy 40 into small bits could prove a real pain in the hind end). So, yeah, lower each dose by 5, so 15mg every six hours. What I am getting at here, is that you want to find the absolute lowest dose that will keep you from WD. For example, if, at 15mg, you feel WD symptoms, go back to 20mg per dose. Now, stabilize at this dose for a few days.
Avatar n tn He came into treatment having been prescribed Xanax (for anxiety). For pain he had been prescribed Ultram and was taking these, but was also illegally obtaining ("Dr. Hopping") Darvocet and Vicodin and was taking large quantities of these also. He was quite addicted to these pain-killers and had a rough time during withdrawal. He also was diagnosed with Major Depression and had anxiety symptoms (had suffered from mood problems for years, even during periods of abstinence).
82861 tn?1333457511 Most of the emergency visits involved hydrocodone or oxycodone — opiates better known to consumers by such brand names as Vicodin, Oxycontin and Percocet — and often the pills were improperly mixed with other medications or alcohol. "It's a problem in the city, it's a problem in the suburbs and it's a problem in our rural areas because prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs are easier to get and there's less of a stigma," said Dr.
Avatar n tn Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others. 2. Imodium (over the counter, any drug or grocery store). 3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps) from the health food store. 4.
Avatar n tn took a valium and part of a xanax(SP) and slept thru the night...have a valium hang over this morning which I have always hated...never did like those drugs for the nerves...but always loved those "downs"! Don't know what yall are talking about with Dr. Steve since I'm new but please keep me informed as to where I can keep in touch FIVE WEEKS to feel normal?????? God, I just don't know!!!
Avatar n tn On my next visit to my Dr. I was given a script for xanax,he said I was still to stressed, and even the xanax did nothing for me. So I quit my job because of this and other reasons. then symptoms slowed but never stopped and when I started working again they were even more apparent,NOW i've started getting very severe pains in the front right side of my head when I exert myself like durring workouts and even sex,it calms after about 10 mins. and totally subsides in about 3hrs.
Avatar n tn Please help me understand what the withdraw symptoms are for percocet (hydrocodone? or oxy codone?) I'm not sure. I began taking the percocets approx. 4-5 months ago and now I am up to 15 to 20 a day. I do not feel high from this medication but it does lessen the severe back pain that I suffer with. Ive tried almost ever non narc. medication on the market for the past ten years but nothing seems to work, If it does it is for a short time and only lessens pain. I'm feel lost.
Avatar n tn My doc will switch me back to the norco if I want too he told me he would already. I take the 7.5 mg percocet he gives me 180 for the month that is 6 a day. When I had the norco's he gave me the same thing but the norco 10's. The norco's have less tylenol in them so he prefers them over vicodin. Have any of you taken are heard of combunox? That is the oxycondtin (spelling ) with ibuprofen in it .
Avatar n tn I too am on Xanax and was on Paxil 30 mg, but switched to Lexapro. As far as the Xanax goes my Psychiatrist told me that if I for some reason "cold turkey" stopped that I would be very uncomfortable, but I would not be in grave danger of having a seizure and I am taking 4 mg a day. I also am a recovering opiate addict and I know that Binzodiazapine withdrawl is nothing compared to opiate withdrawal.
Avatar n tn To avoid getting addicted to all my various meds, tramadol, robaxin, percocet, etc... I alternate meds and try to go at least one day without meds altogether. So far it has worked but pain relief is minimal.. I am so sorry for everyone's pain and problems. Someday, hopefully, there will be cures for us all.

Avatar n tn Clonidine helped me LOADS from coming down from Percocet and Vicodin. I honestly cannot begin to believe what my experience would have been like if I had not have sucked it up, swallowed my pride, and walk into that ER. The clonidine is a med used to lower blood pressure. So instead of feeling incredibaly crappy from the withdrawels, you feel just a little yucky because your blood pressure is lower than usual.
Avatar n tn At one point, my doctor had me on ambien, xanax, percocet and oxycotin. I have a chronic backaches. I nearly killed myself on that combination and since January have been on nothing but Ultram. I can fuction again. I think again. With ambien, I was in a haze that lasted well into the day. And when I would run out, I was left with days of insomnia. I do use over the counter sleeping meds, occasionally, but for the most part, I sleep.
Avatar n tn Yes. I do. They were not positive experiences, and I too had good insurance. Perhaps I wasn't "ready." In fact I know I wasnt. I felt they ran junkies thru rehab like cattle w/ a prod. It was dehumanhizing: IE : no Pert shampoo (as in--> I might drink it) (instead I was "sold" their shampoos) turned out to be verrrry expensive. Additionally, all perfumes were "confiscated," and I had to "ask" for a spray of mine.
Avatar n tn , my therepist gave me Xanax. Soon, they pushed the dosage of Xanax to 120 per month. I soon was hooked on those. While drinking too. Finally, my family interviened and I was sent to a Treatment Center. This center was wonderful and treated the whole person, not the addiction. The Big Book, and my higher power were my saviours. I have not had the burning bush experience, but the desire to use has been removed.
Avatar n tn i am nervous all the time and depression set in but has subsided somewhat. i got stupid and started taking Xanax and am now up to 5-10 2mg bars a day. i got them through a doctor. i have enough to wean myself off. is this possible? can i work my dosage down by 1 pill per day? i've tried to use kava kava to help stress and to take less xanax. i need some suggestions because i have heard that you can die from xanax withdrawal. someone please help me. i want all this **** out of my life.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone- I have a question that I hope I can get some help with. I am stepping down from a 20-25 percocet a day addiction. I have cut my intake to roughly half about ten/12 a day. I was wondering how folks I am reading about who have had past addictions or maybe struggling thru one now have done it. Did you go to detox or rehab or did you quit drugs on your own by weaning yourself off of them.
Avatar n tn I am 31 years old now, take toprol xl, and xanax. I gave up on wasting my short life on trying to get rid of something that isnt going to go away, and isnt going to kill me. So I live life to the fullest, before its over, and before I realize all Ive done was waste the whole thing worrying about pvcs. If youve had all the tests (ekg, echo, ect.......
