Percocet withdrawal oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet withdrawal oxycodone

percocet

Avatar n tn Because saying Percocet is the only safe drug for your fetus makes no sense to me at all Percocet is still an opiate and is infact the exact same as the 30mg oxycodone you have been taking. The only difference is that the Percocet is a lower dose of oxycodone and it contains Tylenol but its the same narcotic in both meds and is no different except I would think Percocet would be worse because of the Tylenol which can be DEVESTATING to the liver.
Avatar f tn You are now likely either in withdrawal from coming off oxycodone, or in precipitated withdrawal from the buprenorphine's opioid blocking effects. I wish I had an easy answer for you, but the right way forward at this point depends on many different factors-- factors that I do not know. I would recommend getting back on the meds you were taking, and making sure that your doc understands the complex effects of buprenorphine-- including the opioid blocking effects of the medication.
Avatar f tn I dont know about percocet but i know i was given lortab during my pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I think you want to know more about the drug you are abusing. Percocet is one of the brand names of the drug oxycodone when it is combined with acetaminophen. Oxycodone is semi-synthetic and was created in the mid 20th century to improve upon other opioids such as morphine or codeine. Although the chemical composition of oxycodone is almost identical to heroin, oxycodone abuse often lacks the strong taboos and negative reputation of heroin.
Avatar n tn I am 25. My doctor put me on percocet and oxycodone a year ago for a back disease I have. He currently gives me 100 percocets 10mgs a month as well as 60 oxycodone's 40 mgs. I get the percocet for two weeks (which I finish within 14 days) then the oxyocodone for two weeks and replay every month. I take anywhere from 12-15 percocet a day or 120 mgs of the oxycodone. I want to stop completely asap!
4204073 tn?1361831476 Then, there is Oxycontin, which is a long acting, sustained release form of Oxycodone (again, no Tylenol). Then there is Percocet, which is Oxycodone with Tylenol (which is available in different strengths).
Avatar m tn dont know what kind of pain you have but the methadone has more severe and much longer detox than the percocet withdrawal. many, many times the pain gets much worse the longer you are on pain pills. it is rebound pain. it is usually advisable to be off all pain meds for about a month to re-evaluate the pain. once you are on the methadone it is very hard to get off of it.
Avatar m tn Was just curious. Do withdrawal symptoms differ depending on what type of opiates ones using? I meen I'm taking perc. 30's will my withdrawals be different from let's say if I was gonna withdrawal from morphine? Or is a withdrawal a withdrawal? I hope that makes sense! I'm just trying to figure out what I'm in for. I've went through withdrawals from large amounts of vicodin E/S, and ofcourse that was miserable.. Recently I've been doing alot of the perc.
Avatar f tn I'm 13 weeks pregnant I'm been on 10/325mg percocet and oxycodone 15 mg and I lost count how many I take all I know is a month supply can only last 2 weeks I have asked doctors for help to taper or to stop but I can't do it I keep reading about suboxone what is that and can I ask my doctor for it the withdrawal is very bad I pooped on myself in my sleep today and it hard I have three kids to tend to and at night my arm and legs are so restless they hurt I'm scared really scared I
Avatar f tn Jean, I am glad you are trying to get off the Percocet. I believe the highest dose available in US is 10mg of oxycodone/ 650mg acetaminophen. Thus, not only are you taking a lot of narcotics, you are also overdosing on Tylenol that can actually damage your liver. The best way for you to proceed is to slowly taper the dose, never taking above the recommended amount. Wright out a table for yourself, i.e.
Avatar m tn m sure its the percocet but am alittle confused about the difference between Percocet and the oxycontin as they both have said....OXYCODONE... on the label is the oxy just a time release percocet?
558096 tn?1255887002 Oxycontin is a 12 hour sustained release form of Oxycodone, and then there is an Oxycodone immediate release, taken every six hours, which I think is Percocet. Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen.
Avatar f tn Percocet is one step ABOVE Vicodin on the painkiller strength scale. Ever hear people talk about oxy? Percocet is Oxycodone. If you had a problem with vicodin, percocet will just be a bigger problem. Id stay away. Good luck and congrats on all that clean time.. Keep going in the right direction. God bless.
Avatar f tn I've been in your situation before - when I moved from Florida to Utah, I couldn't get into a doctor soon enough and even with 8 months of pain management records, the local ER gave me 1 days worth of 30% of my dose - for care over the next month while I waited to get into a local pain management doctor, I was referred to a methadone maintaince clinic for PAIN MANAGEMENT... All thanks to the failed war on drugs.
Avatar n tn Percocet IS oxycodone. Oxycodone is the opiate ingredient in percocet. The -cet part denotes that there is acetominophen (tylenol) in the pill as well, so percocet is actually oxycodone with tylenol.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had arthroscopic ACL reconstruction 5 days ago and was initially prescribed Percocet (5 mg oxycodone 325 mg acetaminophen) for pain. Now that my pain has lessened, I only take it at night because it makes me fall asleep almost instantly. Physical therapy is painful and ibuprofen doesn't help much, but I dont want to take percocets during the day so my dr gave me a prescription for 50mg tramadol, which I have never used before.
Avatar m tn Dilaudid is a much stronger narcotic than oxycodone ( oxycodone is the narcotic ingredient in percocet). Percocet is tylenol and oxycodone combined. I think you will have much better pain control with the dilaudid for sure.
Avatar m tn d get withdrawals going from Vicodin to Percocet. However, Percocet also has Tylenol in it. Oxycodone does not. I switched from Percocet to Oxycodone and then Oxycontin because I didn't want the Tylenol. What kind of doctor do you see for your conditions? I was seeing an orthopedic for arthritis along with some other conditions and they had me on Vicodin initially. Then I went to a hand specialist.
Avatar n tn In the past couple of years I have tried to wean off the percocet and stop because of either the pain or withdrawal. I feel that the percocet is running my life and I hate taking this drug. Last year I tried a pain clinic and every medicine they gave me made me sick. I'm also worried about how the Darvon will interact with Adivan I take at night. I forgot to ask that question when the doctor gave me the perscription.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago my doctor of 8 years told me there is nothing more he can do for me. Handed me a script for Percocet since I had not been on those for over 6 years and a referral to a pain clinic. Well I tried to wean myself from the morphine, and its not going so well. I filled the Percocet script but didn't take any while I was weaning. I am on hour 33 without morphine. I took a Percocet to see if it would help the withdrawal symptoms, but it didn't.
Avatar f tn I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
Avatar f tn vicodin, lortab, lorcet - all contain the narcotic HYDROCODONE while percocet contains the narcotic OXYCODONE. They have different chemical make-ups. All of the hydrocodone meds I listed also contain acetaminophen (tylenol). As far as I'm aware, they do not make a hydrocodone pill that does NOT contain acetaminophen. Percocet also contains acetaminophen, however, you can get oxycodone alone wthout the acetaminophen in it.
203003 tn?1210855907 5 mg and 10mg. Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Oxycontin is oxycodone in a time released pill. They used to make a capsule of 15mg of fast release oxycodone that people called percocet 15's but that was a misnomer. I'm not sure that they still make them here in the US.
