I have been prescribed tramadol and percocet for back pain for about 7 months. I took 2-4 tramadol 50mg a day and 1-2 5/325 percocet at night. Less back pain caused me to dial back on the pills til I am at 1 of each a day. Last week I did not take tramadol at all and began to feel achy all over and tired. I took the pill. Yesterday, I took no tramadol again and had all the symptoms I see described here--restless all over, unable to sleep, achy, etc.
Hey there.....I don't know about percocet but I took tramadol with vicodin before. I take tramadol and my script was running out before I could get it refilled so I took the vicodin to help make what tramadol I had left, last. So, medically I think it wouldn't hurt anything to take them. You just have to be very careful with tramadol! I am in the process of trying to ween off of it and my dr.
It is safe to take the tramadol along with the percocet but BE WARNED they are VERY addictive and it takes only weeks of daily use for ur body to become dependent on the drug! Withdrawal from tramadol is like nothing else in the world so PLEASE BE CAREFUL but if u only use it a couple times a week during your healing time u should not have any issues with physical dependency.
I'm worried! My fiancee' has been prescribed Tramadol, which worked very well for him but he has gone through 40 pills in 10 days and the way his dr. wrote his script it says "use 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed" so he cannot get a refill for another 2 weeks. He saw a local dr. who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen.

i go to my family doctor and he gives me tramadol for pain i go back and tell him that it gives me nightmars and makes me depressed and ask if he can give me anything else and he sais no because if tramadol does that then vicoden and percocet will do it also but iv taken vicoden and percocet before. so i go to emergence rooms some give me percocet and some say we can't help you you have to talk to your family doctor. what should i do?

I called the pharmacy to see if there was anything they could recommend asking my doctor for that's NON narcotic or addicting and she asked if I'd tried Tramacet or Tramadol? I've never heard of these but the cet in tramacet leads me to think of percocet? she said it's not a controlled substance and is non narcotic...
I was involved in a car accident april 2013, and had some injuries, but was told my back showed no break. I was put on Percocet 5 ....every 6 hours, but wasn't getting enough pain relief. I constantly get a burning or ache in my spine area that is very painful! Trying to offset the pain medication (as doctors don't want to increase due to addiction).... I seem to regurally take a bottle of Tylenol 500 mg of 100 tabs per week.
I've been in your situation before - when I moved from Florida to Utah, I couldn't get into a doctor soon enough and even with 8 months of pain management records, the local ER gave me 1 days worth of 30% of my dose - for care over the next month while I waited to get into a local pain management doctor, I was referred to a methadone maintaince clinic for PAIN MANAGEMENT... All thanks to the failed war on drugs.
Ohhhh boy how long have you been on the trams and how much have you been taking?.You are not supposed to ct of tramadol it needs to be tapered off of .I would discuss with your doctor a taper program .If you have to bring him the tramadol insert info with youdo that its states right on it what happens it you ct it.
I have a very addictive personality and have been using different drugs over the past 4 yrs (percocet, lortab, tylenol with codeine, fioricet with codeine, etc), just to give you guys an idea of how long this has been going on. I have only been taking the Tramadol for about 6 months (no other drugs). Any advice will be greatly appreciated, as well as any prayers!
For instance last week I took some plastic totes down from my sons nursery closet that were filled with the next size clothing. That set it off. It went away after a day or two...or so I thought. Then I changed his mattress pad and sheets 3 nights ago in the middle of the night, doing it in Supermom speed. Lol! That set off my mid back which has never been a problem. I have been through PT. Then massage therapy at the chiropractor. And I have seen PM specialists.
Currently I have been taking one tablet of tramadol mid morning and one tablet of percocet at night. My question is are any of you prescribed 3 different pain medications? I have an old bottle of vicodin and it is helpful for my pain for me to occasionally alternate not taking the one tramadol but instead taking the one vicodin. I'm afraid to ask my doctor if they would be willing to additionally now prescribe me vicodin. What are your thoughts?
NO TRAMADOL!!! I had ankle surgery in the beginning of my pregnancy and was prescribed pain killers (vicodin and percocet) I was always more comfortable with the tramadol since it's non narcotic. I looked it up and it said it's absolutely not ok during pregnancy, however the narcotics were (also recommended by my dr) hope you feel better!
I STAYED ON VICODIN UNTIL A SHOULDER INJURY REQUIRED SURGERY ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO AND AT THAT TIME I WAS PLACED ON A HIGH DOSE OF PERCOCET BY MY DOCTOR. I STRUGGLED WITH THIS ADDICTION.....ORDERING IT OFF THE INTERNET, DR. HOPPING, ECT. UNTIL I FOUND IT HARDER AND HARDER TO GET OFF THIS MEDICTION. SO I MENTIONED MY PROBLEM TO MY ORTHOPEDIC DR. HE HELPED GET ME IN CONTACT WITH A PAIN MANAGEMENT DR. WHO ALSO HELPED PEOPLE "GET OFF PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDS".
Rick have you he any experience with Tramadol? Tramadol is a man made synthetic narcotic that sits on your opiate receptors just like oxy. I can say for sure that tramadol withdrawal is very serious as it is also an SSRI. There really is no other drug like it. In fact the highest number of medical persons that enter an actual detox facility with a need for help do enter for tramadol withdrawal.
frannie, I know your looking for answers about your pain. I just wanted to let you know about my experience with coming off of tramadol. I have been a chronic pain patient for just over a year now and I am eighteen. I have too many problems with my back to list. I am now on Dialudid and soma. Very strong pain meds. My best advice, TAPER OFF OF TRAMADOL. I withdrawled from percocet once because of my doctor going on vacation.
If I knew more about your current pain and injuries I could be more specific. If you are not on antidepressants, ask them for Tramadol with Acetaminophen, which would be much more appropriate. Nucynta is an synthetic (Seratonin Pathway) drug that works very well. Aquatic Physical Therapy should also be considered to help the deconditioning from the accidents.
