According to industry reports, Gilead produces Sovaldi for approximately $1.00 per gram (with only 10 to 30 grams needed to successfully treat patients with Hepatitis C).
Avatar f tn , max 3 per day (disc. issue that has improved recently) , decided to quit and took my last pill on Sunday night...its been pretty rough yesterday and today. I never thought that I would be physically addicted with what I thought was low dosage. My question is do you think I should taper (down to 1 per day for a week, then down to 1/2 per day for a week) or should I ride it out. I'm definitely out of the game one way or another, any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
1326416 tn?1370927001 I am currently taking percocet as a break through med with morphine sustained release. I didn't have a choice on what I could take for breakthrough medicine. I don't take more than 1950 mg of tylenol per day via the percocet. I think the percocet and the vicodin puts a "cap" on how much a person can take before destroying their liver. My doctor has been very trustworthy of me but always wants me to stay on these combo meds.
Avatar n tn switching from percocet 30 mg a day to morphine sulphate er 15mg every 12.
Avatar f tn s boceprevir marked as Victrelis has a wholesale price of $1,100 per week, or between $26,400 and $48,400 for a course of treatment, depending on needed duration. http://clinicianonnet.blogspot.com/2011/05/boceprevir-and-telaprevir-for-hepatitis.html I am taking Incivek and I know it costs $17,700 per 4 weeks (so $4425 per week) just for the Incivek. $17,000 is the amount my insurance company is paying per 4 weeks. (That is even higher than the May 2011 quoted price noted above.
Avatar m tn i have been takeing percocet for 2 years for back pain when it started it was 1 10 mg pill every 6 hrs. i now take 360 or more per mo.my doctor gives me 160 per mo.
Avatar m tn Recently, my doctor started prescribing Percocet 10/325 at 2 pills in the evening. I never took the 2 pills of Percocet, I would take 1 1/2 per dose. So, total I was taking 60mg of Norcos and 15mg of Percocet per day. I know I have a dependency due to the fact that I would painfully watch the clock for the 4 hour mark. I have been sober from meth and alcohol for 5 years now and know how to diagnose an addiction. No question on wether or not I have a dependency.
Avatar m tn I have been on the smallest dosage pill (oxecodone) for over 3 years now for arthritis in my feet. Currently I get 100 every other month or so. The Dr says he has patients that take as many as 6 per day. I have taken 8 in a day but I can go days without any if I stay off my feet and have no withdrawal. Am I addicted? I am afraid of them but my feet hurt so bad.
961894 tn?1247076478 Lots of useful info there to help ease it a bit... You could also try tapering down to 1 pill per day for a few weeks, then take half per day... the lower dosage you quit from, the milder the w/drawal will be. I wish you lots of luck!
356518 tn?1322263642 There are a couple that can get the Zofran and then make the tablets at a cut price but it wasn't honestly enough to go thru the trouble. Also they have to alter the medicine because of patents and trademarks so they add things like vitamins to the medicine. She could check in her area and different drugs have different cost. I was surprised that it was not much cheaper! I will fill my next prescription with compazine and see if it helps as it is cheaper.
1080427 tn?1256072953 I started taking percocet in june of 09 for a hernia sx i had, I have been taking them ever since basically for fun, the energy and the happiness. I want to quit cold turkey i want NOTHING more to do with percocet. Today is my first day not takin anything. On any given day i was taking 3 or 4 of them... Today i have the chills, I feel like I have a fever, jittery, and lots of anxiety.... How long does this usually last and is there ANYTHING at all to help even feel a little better???
Avatar f tn Thats a good price from Walgreens. Is that (3) x 1 grain per day. If so thats 90 NT pills a month for $15, very good price. You must have good ins! $5 for Armour, wow! My ins price of Armour last summer was $25 per month, cash was $17, yep. I think this is regulated per state law, how they can cover it, so it can vary. Just like some states you can have out of state health insurance, and some you cant, it drives up the cost, as monopolizing always does.
Avatar m tn m fortunate that supply is not an issue (not at 4 per day anyway) Supply of percocet would quickly become an issue though! (even at only one per day) Hmmmm thx again.
645390 tn?1338555377 the price of copaxone is about $3700 per month - my copay for prescription drugs is 50% so the cost to me is $1850 - I know the price will go up January 1st - it always has - when I started the drug in 2006 the monthly cost was about $1470. I cant afford the drug - the maximum shared solutions will give for copay assistance is $500 per month (which is alot of money but it still leaves me with a monthly cost of over $1300 - and that's just for copaxone!
1887358 tn?1320931131 Ok well a little about me, I'm brand new to this site and I'm hoping this site is different from some I have found that seem to be full of addicts and pushers and not legitimate people with documented chronic pain that really need pain meds. I have severe loer back pain and neck pain and have several xrays and am currently waiting for my ins. to approve a mri.
Avatar m tn I quickly realized that I went from being a weekend warrior to a daily user, taking an average of 60mg per day for almost a straight month. 4 days ago I decided that I got myself in this mess and had to get out so I stopped using cold turkey. I can not begin to describe what the withdraws feel like. I have been clean for the last 4 days and thanks to smoking a little herb here and there have been able to get over some of the side effects.
Avatar n tn I think the combination short-acting opioids are not good for chronic pain patients as daily ingestion of tylenol on a long term basis is not recommended. The current maximum dose of tylenol per day is 4,000 mg (1,000 mg maximum per single dose); however, there are new lower limits being provided by the pharmaceutical companies that suggest a 2,600 mg maximum per day.
148588 tn?1465778809 http://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/competitor-offer-1-pill-after-turing-price-hike-outrage-n449661 "A specialty drug company says it can offer a cheap alternative to compete with Turing CEO Martin Shkreli's controversial $750 pill that sparked outrage after the price was dramatically increased. San Diego-based Imprimis Pharmaceuticals says it can make a close, customized version of the drug for $1 a pill.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Percocet for 9 months now. At most 4 5/325s per day. For the past month I have been cutting down. At noon today makes 24 hours with none. Right now my legs feel like they want to jump all over the house. I also feel like my skin is crawling. I do have legitimate pain issues from surgical adhesions, fibromyalgia and nerve damage. I am trying to manage that pain with over the counter meds, vitamins, and SNRIs now. I don't have anyone I can turn to for help.
Avatar m tn Percocet does not cost that much. Retail value of 120 pills(months supply) is $38.99 with Target pharmacy. She is not telling you the truth. All pharmacies charge the same no matter what medical insurance you have.
Avatar f tn t think much about because i know i only take the medication he gives me which are hydrocodone10 and gabapentin and tizanidine well when he came back in the room he ask me when I took my last pain pill and if I had been taking percocet and trading my pills for them. I told him no he said well your drug test came back positive for percocet and no hydrocodone in your urine. He said he was sending off and results would be back in a week.
478811 tn?1208474960 You sound a lot like me. Doing it for the pain and able to cut the dosage down w/o too much problem. For me, I still need it for the pain and RLS. I'm currently taking 1 pill per day in 1/2 dosages. To answer your question about keeping it around the house. I think if you seriously are using it for pain management and none of the over the counter stuff seems to work for you then keeping some around the house is ok.
Avatar f tn ve seen in a patient addicted to oxycodone is about 700 mg per day. Most people addicted to oxycodone in my practice were taking around 200-300 mg per day. The cost of oxycodone 'on the street', at least in my part of the country, is around a buck per mg-- so a 'habit' of 350 mg would cost a 'street user' about $300 bucks per day-- although most people taking illicit prescription opioids are either selling them as well, or getting them paid for by their health insurer.
Avatar f tn I, of all people, cannot believe I let this happen to myself. How long are withdrawals using 1/2 - 2 per day for 3 years. ANYONE??
