percocet in drug test

I am addicted to hydrocodone, i will be given a drug test to check for opiates and i was wondering how long will it take to get this painkiller out of my system, and what can i do to make it happen faster. also i want to know what the easier way to get off them is?

It all depends on the test they use. If they use a basic urine test that only test for opiates then they will test the same. However, if they use a lab for testing it will be able to tell what meds you took. I can totally understand family issues, etc. But when going to a pain clinic those rules have to be followed. Pain docs are the most watched docs out there. So there license is on the line which means many times they will fire the patient to protect their license...

I have seen on here where a lot of you have to take drug test at doctors visits, I have been going to pm doctor since December of 2008, and never have had a drug test. Just wondering what the deal is?

The PA then proceeds to tell me that they can no longer see me as my drug test came back negative. I take my prescription on a regular basis. I have been on an antibiotic now for 2 months and mentioned that and they did not care. I have been hospitalized twice in the last 3 months with an infection in my finger. t think much about because i know i only take the medication he gives me which are hydrocodone10 and gabapentin and tizanidine well when he came back in the room he ask me when I took my last pain pill and if I had been taking percocet and trading my pills for them. I told him no he said well your drug test came back positive for percocet and no hydrocodone in your urine. He said he was sending off and results would be back in a week.

Last minute my nurse practitioner at my dosage for Percocet 7 to Percocet tens I had an obstruction in my small intestines when I go back into this morning to my doctor they cut me loose and said that they had to let me go because they did a mouth swab drug test on me last month for cocaine in my system it's a lie I don't do cocaine I would never touch cocaine what can I do about this

the dr. that said i failed his drug test threw papers at me and cursed me ,he started me on opanaer40mgs.in sept08, he did not start me out on a lower dose first.i am worried about withdrawls i have copd and hep.c in remission, should i have ever taken this drug?should he have given me something more than hydrocodone10/500 to come off of this med. i know that i am not susposed to have that much acedimine, what do u suggest i do about this? this hydro.

If I took one. 5 mg. percocet on 9/8 and did a drug screening at work on 9/21 and it came back positive is this possible? I also did another instant urine on 9/23 and that came back negative. Can the drug company be wrong? Which results are right. Also took Ibeprophen 500 & amoxacillan on 9/11. Someone please give me some good news my job of 18 yrs. depends on it.

I have been going to pain management for almost 3 years now I get drug tested monthly and have never had any issues with a failed test until this past month. I am prescribed 2 5mg Norco a day for chronic bilateral knee pain and back pain. I was a couple days from my appointment date and was out of meds. my girl friend had some left over meds from an oral surgery. She gave me a couple of her pain meds and mistakenly though they where the same as I was taking but they where Percocet instead.

his urine test for NOT having Percocet in his system when in fact he did have some just not that often. So, due to this the discharged him from their pain clinic with nothing. Now, back to primary MD and he won't give him even something lower (that he himself USED to prescribe) because he had a "dirty urine". I just don't get it fully. I KNOW my finace did not sell them or anything like that, I dunno how much he took for sure when but I am boggled.

If I go to the pharmacy and buy a drug test kit, would that be equivalent to an employers test?!

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much you can do about this false negative test result. Casino's can refuse to admit anyone they choose from their establishment, and I'm certain that doctors can refuse to treat a patient if they simply choose not to, and if they have a test to "back them up". The same thing happened to me a few months ago and I was put on "probation". All it entailed was going bi-weekly for follow-ups, and urine screens, instead of monthly.

t prescribed anything for pain but took 3 Percocet because I was in excruciating pain, does anyone know if the test for the Subutex & Percocet could be considered a "false positive" (for the percocet) since they are both opiates? His doctor will be looking at things related to thyroid function in the blood test...not doing a drug test. The doctor can't drug test your friend's blood without his consent. Did your friend agree to a drug test? Probably not, so he shouldn't worry. He isn't going to have one done on his blood. Also, there is something called HIPPA. Your friend's doctor can't just call someone else up and give out personal medical information about your friend. It's against the law.

Here is the dilemna - according to my daughter who works at a local drug in house rehab center - the drug test will only prove use if the pills were taken within the last 48 to 72 hours - I found this out on Saturday and have had them with me until I purchased the lock box yesterday. Also limit your water intake until an hour or two before the test so that the concentration of percocet in your urine remains strong as I believe these test are most of the time not sensitive enough as increased sensitivity costs more money that the insurance may not pick up the tab for as it is a doctor desired test above what is available at a lower cost that is supposed to "technically" achieve the same results.

oxycodone is the drug in percocet and oxycontin. Oxycontin is just a brand name.

It may be difficult or even impossible to find a new doctor under these circumstances. He may put more restrictions in place, like more drug screening, only giving you a week's worth of meds at a time, etc. Your relationship with your doctor also may play into it. How long have you been his patient? Have you ever had any other issues, like calling for early refills, losing scripts, etc? Keep us posted as to what's happeng.

My husband takes dilanitin for seizures. He had to take a drug test for a job and tested positive for barbituates. Does any one know if this is common?

Both have the drug oxydodone in them. The oxycontin is designed to be time released (-contin = continuous). It delivers a certain amt of drug at a constant rate. the percocet is oxycodone w/acetominophen (tylenol). It is designed to deliver a certain amt of drug all at once. So while they are both the same drug, they are delivered a bit different. If you take them for a headache, chances are once it wears off the h/a will return and be worse.
