203003 tn?1210855907 IS A PERCOCET 30MG THE SAME THING AS OXYCONTIN?? I HAVE A HORRIBLE MIGRAINE AND GOT 2 FROM MY UNCLE WAS WONDERING ABOUT THEM???
Avatar f tn I have been having headaches for several weeks straight now. Some tmes severe, sometimes with some sharp stabbig pain in the left side of head. I have had two MRI tests that show possible ischenic episodes with "white foci in the frontal lobe". My family dr thinks possible mini strokes, but I can't get in with a neurologist for three more weeks. I have tried Neurontin, Percocet, Tramadol, Ibuprophen with no releif. I just got a new script for Fiorinol and not tried it yet.
Avatar m tn Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache can cause similar symptoms. Please consult a headache and migraine specialist to rule out these causes one by one. Take care!
Avatar f tn My advice is no. I too suffer from migraine headaches. Addicts perfer narcotic pain meds but the truth is there are migraine pain meds that work much better. I know you don't have those now. But maybe it's time to address that problem before you get back on the merrygo round.
1930941 tn?1400107522 Aleve works really well for me for my OA - might be worth a shot? And the excedrin is good for headaches and I take it sometimes for overall pain - it's supposed to be one of the stronger OTC pain meds. Just don't overdo it with the excedrin though - the acetimonophen can be bad for your stomach. Also hot baths/showers can help alleviate pain - but even better would be a bath w/epsom salts.
Avatar f tn t to say you take Percocet for every migraine (depending on frequency). I only take it once or twice a month, despite having migraines more frequently. He said once or twice a month is still considered safe for the baby.
Avatar f tn medications as simple as tylenol or advil if used too much can cause rebound headaches that are even worse then the headaches for which the medications were started for. This is very common and is most likely to occur with use of any medication for your headache more than a few times a week. It can occur with all the commonly used headache medications such as ibuprofen, triptans (such as imitrex), fioricet, and commonly with any type of narcotic such as tylenol #3, dilaudid, percocet, etc.
Avatar m tn The only thing I can suggest is trying Fioricet or Fiorinal which are prescribed generally for tension headaches. I suffered with those and still do and for me Fioricet is the only thing that works...I was giving a ton of different migraines medications which never worked.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any healthy remedies for headaches? Since I've been told not to have any Tylenol or Advil.
2117144 tn?1334888709 You may or may not get a aura. Imitrex works some for me and there are some new meds for migraine. I know depakote works for some but not others. I would go to a neurologist that specializes in migrianes (as a second opinion). I had an electroencephalogram (EEG) done and that is how they diagnosed me for my migraine variant. It later evolved into a migraine with aura. Anyway, was the CT scan of the brain that they did?
Avatar f tn I also had bad headaches for sometime after wd's. Still do, but not near as often. About day 33 is when they started letting up. So the last week not so many as before.
Avatar f tn How fo u get rid of a migraine thats safe for pregnancy???
Avatar f tn I have had constant headaches for now on 4 months . I have been to my gp doctor several times. She has prescribed me topamax, percocet amd several drugs. I am a diabetic with high blood pressure and several other things that go with that . I orginally went to the doctor 5 years ago with boils .That is whne she decided I was a diabetic. I didn't start having the headaches until 4 months ago. They started in the end of October begininning of November.
Avatar f tn The last time I was there, they gave me percocet for my migraine. My doctor was actually the one who gave it to me. So yes, I have had to take them during pregnancy. BUT only under strict observation from my doctor. Normally, I just take tylenol if I have pain.
650963 tn?1445999063 I have been suffering with headaches/migraines a lot in my lifetime, however, for the past six years, I have had a migraine that is constantly there. I do not have times where I am not in pain. I have seizures, this can vary from having hardly any, to having more than one a day. It is worse the more severe the pain is.
Avatar f tn t start taking them for the high-and you are truly taking them for relief of the migraine you will be okay. If you begin to take them daily, and begin to take more, and more you'd better talk to your doctor. Or come back here. Hopefully you only need to have them once in a great while. Try everything possible before taking one. Otherwise, you'll start telling yourself,,,"hmm i think i'm going to have a migraine today.....think i'll take a perc just in case'.
620048 tn?1358018235 I have suffered from forehead and behind the eye headaches for years now. Was told they may be some form of atypical migraine but I AM NOT light or sound sensitive!!!! I also suffer from other Neurological sx that increase with the pain. The sx seem to be increasing lately which brought me to this forum after my dr mention MS and having my MRI done again to look for changes. They dont go away in hours. They stay and just increase or decrease in pain level.
17339814 tn?1489798076 s a list of some of the terms used for Migraines. Stress Migraine, Abdominal Migraine, Silent, or Acephalgic, Migraine, Sinus Migraine, Ocular Migraine, Seasonal (Allergy) Migraines, Cyclic Migraine Syndrome, Gastric Stasis Migraine and Tension Migraine. And there are more! Migraines are DX (diagnosed) based on one's specific SXs (symptom)s. It comes with more SX that just head pain. As an example I always have nausea and vomiting when I have a migraine and I cannot tolerate light.
Avatar f tn I have my own unscientific theory concerning post drug abuse and the liver/digestive system. You were on a TON of morphine for quite awhile (I was on a TON of percocet for 5 yrs) which has tremendous impact on the liver, kidneys, stomach and colon. Once we get clean, scar tissue forms. The organs are hypersensitive to the chemicals , almost like an allergy. This seems to cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea because the body cannot process the drug properly.
Avatar f tn It is important also that you identify possible triggers that could be responsible for your migraines. There is a migraine tracker here in Medhelp that you can use for this. If you can identify the triggers, you can also avoid recurrences of your headache. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 5 years old and was seen by a Neurologist that told us she suffered from migraine headaches. we have not been able to come up with anything that causes her headaches. We have tried keeping a diary and everything seems so random. Some of the headaches she gets will put her to bed for the night. Is there anything besides just letting her sleep it off i can do for her?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome (varicose veins in my pelvic region) about 2 1/2 years ago. I've been experiencing daily debiliating headaches for about the past year. I've been to two different neurologists, two pain clinics and seen my primary doctor about 15 times. On my last visit with the pain specialist, he asked why no one had pursued the issue of my varicose veins.
