Avatar f tn hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing. 1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg. 2.
874521 tn?1424116797 someone posted to me that they purchased an at home ultrasound machine for their bursitis pain, I asked the poster a few questions and didn't get a reply. has anyone else used this? and if so was it worth the money? how well did it work and where did you buy it from?
874521 tn?1424116797 and prescribed oxycontin 10mg x 2 per day also percocet for breakthrough. I also have used neurontin for a few years..he increased the dose to 1800mgs. Same day, same clinic I later saw a physiatrist (rehabilitation specialist)...he did a BONE SCAN (MRI was also done before) and told me I do have DDD but also bursitis in both hips and in his opinion the pain was radiating to my legs and thats what was causing the hip and leg pain...
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bursitis a few months ago ,its so painful can't sleep on my right side got a cortisone shot and that helped a Lil bit.now I turned 42 in may this year ,I swear the next I felt this horrible slight burning pain in both my arms that I feel in my shoulders and goes all the way to my hands.I'm so worried that this has something to do with bursitis, or thar my bursitis was misdiagnosed and it's arthritis.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I left there crying and more hopeless. I have been on celebrex by PCP for the last month due to bursitis in hips and heels and it is not helping. Today after laying in bed for 2 days decided what do I have to lose I will call rheum and make an appointment. I thought maybe he did not want to treat me preop as I was on so many meds and getting ready for brain surgery and after all he was right the surgery did help but did not fix my overall pain. Today I saw my rhem and he was very nice.
Avatar f tn . Over use injury or otherwise. I am almost certain my bursitis is septic caused by my throat ailment. I have started a regiment of amoxicillin per the doctor.
Avatar m tn I am an athlete and have been taking it easy for months due to my hip bursitis. I am eager to get back to working out as this injury has taken a toll on my sports performance, however my hip just refuses to heal. I have taken tons of advil, stayed off my feet as much as possible, and avoided exercises that aggravate my hip, but nothing is really making a difference. How do I find an effective way to heal my hip for good?
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for 15 years and hip bursitis for 5 years. the more research I do the more I see how related they are. I am to the point after various therapies to consider using a walker at 55 years old. It is difficult for me to walk and to climb stairs. I use to be very active. Is there any research indicating why these two are so synonymous?
Avatar m tn I am wondering, if bursitis is inflammation, does applying cold to the area work better than applying heat to the area
Avatar f tn Hi Doctor thanks for the excellent explanation of hip bursitis, I have had one set of injections the pain was greatly reduced for abt 6 weeks than returned even worse than originally is this common? Also I am on oxycontin for DDD and this doesn't help at all with the hip bursitis can I ask why that would be? I am only on 20mg would an increase help at all or not?
Avatar m tn But either way, stretching is important for all with bursitis no matter its location. That is gentle, slow stretching before starting. Sometimes I think it is trial and error to determine the best exercises for health benefit that don't cause your bursitis to flare. If it causes pain or flare up, then avoid that exercise. Knee extensions may be tricky but if you try it, I'd use very light weight obviously. Have you ever done swimming?
Avatar f tn I believe that when if ever the port is removed, the bursitis will go away. Does anyone else have bursitis in shoulder after port installed/chemo? How did yours work out?
Avatar f tn My name is Brenda and I have been on Suboxone for about 8 months now for an addiction to percocet. I just went to my ortho doc and he prescribed me tramadol for bursitis. I dont know if I can mix the 2 sub and tram and I not sure if I should even start taking them to begin with. Can anyone give me some advice about what I should do?
Avatar n tn I have had pain over the years and for the first two I was on Vicodin for it, I quit taking it due to the possibility of a habit forming. Recently I had a cyst in my knee but the ER just sent me home prescribing an opiate for me which I did not take. I did take the Percocet which helped with the back pain I was having but did nothing for the knee pain from the cyst or otherwise. I have told various doctors over the years about the pain I'm in daily, some of it is debilitating.
Avatar f tn t say.
Avatar n tn I had hip bursitis in my right hip after in a car accident. The greater trochanter bursitis was caused from injury. After severe swelling the tingling in my foot was also very apparent. I believe it was a result or impeachment on blood flow. After a year of misdiagnosis and relying heavily on my left leg. I have now developed greater trochanteric bursitis on my left leg and yes I can concur that I have tingling in my left foot now but related to the swelling.
Avatar m tn Is there swelling? It could be a number of things. You should really see a doctor. If there is swelling it could be bursitis. If it's bursitis and infected that could be bad. I'm not a doctor and don't want to say what I think it is because I have no idea. But my boyfriend has bursitis in his elbow and when it flares up it can really hurt. Try taking something like Advil and see if that helps. And if I were you I would not do chin ups, I would go see a doctor.
Avatar n tn Sally, I didn't say NSAIDS are a good treatment for fibro. They aren't. I take NSAIDS basicly for other pain conditions, such as the bursitis in my shoulders plus to relieve pain from a herniated disc in my back. BTW - where did you get the information that NSAIDS weaken bones? I've taken them a long time and my bone density scan shows I have excellent bone density. I have Ultracet for fibro but it doesn't help much either.
Avatar f tn First, are you getting the shot injected straight into your shoulder? That works the best, of course if you have found a doctor that knows how to inject there. Sounds like you need to see a Rheumatologist for arthritis. I have had RA and bursitis for over 20 years and it's time for you get a complete check up with the Rheumatologist. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Yeah thats quite a bit of Percocet...sorry I misunderstood. Well hopefully you can figure out a good tapering schedule that fits your needs. And like I wrote above...if you have someone to help and distribute your meds according to the schedule...it does help a lot.
