percocet

Avatar f tn My boyfriend just admitted to me that he is addicted to percocet. I don't know how long he's been on it but I'm assuming it's begining to take a toll on his body so that's why he felt he had to tell me before I figured out. Now he's so sick and I don't know what to do. He's been vomiting nonstop since yesterday and is miserable. I feel so helpless. I dont' know what to do to make him feel better.

Avatar n tn I feel sick to my stomach, very dizzy, and I usually end up vomiting or having dry heaves (not fun when you have abdominal stitches for a gallbladder extraction.) They didn't help much with the pain either and I decided the pain was preferable to the side effects of the drugs.
Avatar n tn what happens to a person that was taking 20 to 30 10mg percocet and 10 10mg methadone every day for 7 years and just stop
Avatar n tn Hello susienic and welcome to the MedHelp Pain Forum. I think lilkim is on the right track but I would tend to think it would be from the combination of the drugs. The Morphine is more apt to cause stomach upset, especially if your not use to taking that amount. I would definitly call the Doctor and tell him that you've been vomiting with the meds and see if he can't lower the dose for you.
1527950 tn?1291828884 I have been on oxy 40mg and percocet 10-325 for about a year now, well my stomach was not having it and I couldnt stop throwing up, so Dr.put me on 50 mcg little relief but have only had it on for 13 hrs. is this thing gonna help me soon?
Avatar f tn Vomiting is not extremely common during withdrawals, but not unheard of. Seizures are usually not a withdrawal symptom of oxycodone withdrawal (more common with benzo withdrawal) but it sounds like there is a family history of seizures. Are you absolutely sure that Percocet is his only drug of choice? Many of us (myself included) considered Percocet our drug of choice, but used benzos as well. He really needs to seek medical attention if the vomiting continues.

To: anyone on line I am strugling with the addition to Percocet. It all started the same way. I had the neck, back and leg pains. Dr's gave Percocet and rest goes with out saying. Last night @ 11pm was my last one. I am doing ok today -- I feel very much at edge and couldn't sleep last night.
Avatar m tn Hi!! Bears is right on, she gives really good advice here. Your son will probably experience some flu-like symptoms, nausea, diarrhea, lots of sweating, hot/cold flashes, and muscle aches. It is so important to stay hydrated and eat, even if it's just some broth and crackers. Your son is so young, he has his whole life ahead of him, I'm sending prayers to you both!! Wish him luck for me, and tell him to stay strong!!
Avatar n tn if your dose was a high dose, withdrawal symptoms include, nauaea, stomach cramps, frequent bathroom trips, body aches and pains, RLS (restless leg syndrome), insomnia, irritability, anxiety, cravings, vomiting, loss of appetite, and fatigue. and can last about 5-10 days...
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, My mother, Joy, 74 years old had suboptimal debulking surgery and then had a pulmonary embolism. She was able to leave the hospital after 7 days. She is now 3 weeks post op and is still having pain in the abdomen and when she doesn't take the percocet she is noticably drained. She doesn't like taking drugs of any kind and doesn't want to take it. The catch 22...she is now afraid to take it because of the constipation. We talked to the Dr.
Avatar n tn I never threw up, but i have heard of some that do...If i were you i would get something for nausea before u start....you are on a low dose so i hope it won't be to bad.. we are here for you...
1734102 tn?1310442098 also i recently was on life/support for an infection and namonia a month ago, the doctor asked me how long i bin taken Percocet for, he said i should ask my doc to increase the dosage because after 8 years takeing 3 a day is like takeing 1 to 2 because i'm kinda immune to them, and yes i do feel they still help but not as good, question if i approach my doc on this will he think i'm hooked now, i don't want to get cut off, just manage my pain.

Avatar m tn in the mean time they have been putting me on hydromorphone and given me percocet to off set the pain. It has been so bad that I can not eat half the time and my chest hurts so bad it feels like a heart attack and I start to panic and freak out. Needless to say, its been 3 weeks and I've been given over 75 percocet and have taken the last half of 1 I had early this morning. now I am worried that something will affect my unborn child and make him sick.. what do you recommend I do?
Avatar m tn HI I HAVE BEEN TAKING 4 TEN MG VICODIN EVERDAY FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS. I HAVE BULGING DISCS, ARTHRITIC SHOULDER CUFFS, AND SCIATICA. ALL HEREDITARY. I WANT OFF OF THESE VICODIN. Avatar f tn My husband has been taking 5mg Percocet (3-4 daily) for about a year and a half for chronic back pain. He has never abused them. He is tired of taking them and decided to wean himself. He bought an inversion table and wanted to try a more holistic approach to helping his back pain. He started taking 2 percocets on Sunday, then dropped down to 1 on Monday morning. About 4 hours after taking his pill on Monday, he started vomiting. He also had hot flashes, body aches and intense nausea.
Avatar f tn I only started taking percocet yesterday, after suffering for 4 days with severe pain. I had tried everything, NSAIDS, hot wet compresses, I went for massages 4 days in a row! I'm going to have to go back and get an MRI, but in the meantime, I need to take the percocets. I just don't know if I should continue taking the subs while I am on the percocet. I want off the subs really bad, but I only got 15 percs and I don't know how long it will take me to get another Dr appt.
Avatar f tn I'm on day 10 of withdrawling off percocet and I can't stop filling up with this uncomfortable stomach acid... Green and yellow. I've tried Prilosec, tums, and drinking tons of water. What should I do? Also what food do you suggest I try eating?
Avatar m tn I agree it would have to an amount substantial enough to be considered "abusing" the drug. I took percocet and vicodin during a couple of my pregnancies but it truly was on an as-need basis and my babies never had any issues!
Avatar n tn I am 6 weeks pregnant and have kidney problems. The ER Doctor gave me Percocet and Promethazine and I can't remember if I can take them together.
Avatar m tn If you are talking about insomnia, shaking, shivering, and vomiting in the alley behind your apartment in a cold sweat followed by months of insomnia and hallucinations, probably not! But if you are talking about an increased craving, a little diarrhea, some flu like symptoms? Well, maybe, but maybe not enough that you would even notice. The answer is so individualized! There are people that take handfuls of narcotics, and they can quit and not even feel any symptoms, like it never happened.
Avatar f tn I went away for a long weekend and forgot my RX at home and needless to say, the vacation was AWFUL! I was shaking uncontrollably, nauseous and vomiting, horrible headache, and severe anxiety. I so badly want off of this medication if THIS is what my body does by not having it! Does this mean I am addicted now to this medicine?
Avatar n tn I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions. I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday. I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?
Avatar f tn Hi there. You should rest in a dark, quiet room during an attack. The timing of treatment is most important and is very effective if given at the start of attack. Simple painkillers taken in soluble or liquid form so that they are absorbed faster. Suppositories are preferred since nausea or vomiting is a problem. Co-codamol contains paracetamol and codeine with antisickness medicine buclizine. Other combinations of pain killers with anti sickness medicines like domperidone and metoclopramide.
