ve made a terrible mistake in taking Ambien, Valium or Xanax to help me sleep. I was prescribed Valium 30 years ago for jumpy legs at night and they helped. I stopped taking the Valium and relied on 1 or half of 1 Perc to help me sleep. Ambien does nothing for me. Xanax seemed to help a little but nothing like the small dose of Perc. I started having nausea, no ambition, extremely tired for no reason, constipation and the general feeling of not wanting to do anything.

I have taken Lunesta and that still didnt help. I tried melatonin, benadryl and Lunesta and nothing helped. Looking for the answer as well. Hand in there and good luck.

Hi, I have been on Percocet 10/325 along with Neurontin, Flexeril, Valium for about a decade. I was switched to 75 MCG Fentanyl patch 2 weeks ago. Valium was stopped 3 weeks ago. The 1st week I could not sleep at all. Drowsy, though. Shaky, cold. My doctor said it was withdrawal. Now at week 2, I sleep about 2 hours, very shaky, freezing cold, (I never get cold) Absolutely miserable BUT have great pain relief. Must stay in bed.

Truvada (HIV meds), Marinol (appetite), Valium (stress from the pain), and Percocet (started for peripheral neuropathy). My percocet use over the past few years has dramatically increased due to the non specific body pain I feel in most of my major joint areas, including in order of pain are: back, neck, knees, shoulders, hips, hands, feet over the past few years. Pain is soothed with heating pad, but at time it feels like I am being stabbed especially in behind my knees.

For all those on scheduled daily regimens of pretty powerful drugs- Percocet, Valium and NSAIDs, I would STRONGLY recommend talking to your doc about BUTRANS patches. It is much safer, very effective and they don't take away your other meds. The patch can be a hassle but if I run out of my ever percocet early (7.5s- but sometimes with the valium I lose track and/or sometimes just need more than they prescribe) the Butrans will alleviate the w/d from the percs and also manage the pain.

Hi mpace6983, all I can say is I had the same problem with Tramadol and I also got insomnia from Tramadol and hydrocodone. So, I think you could try Valium but that is stronger I think. Maybe you have a cross reaction with another drug too? I know you will get a better answer on this site. Good luck and hope your pain gets better.

I had a Microdiskectomy and after the surgery was prescribed 180 5/350 Percocet/month and 30 5mg Valium/month. At first I was not taking them because like I said I don’t like taking meds. But shortly after the pain was getting bad and I started taking them. I never took more than the prescribed amount but quickly was taking 6 Percocet and 1 Valium per day. After my second surgery my prescription went up to 10/350 and was still prescribed 180/month.

I live alone and as I said earlier I have really bad anxiety and take xanax and valium.. Please Help!!!

I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant, and I ended up in the ER 2 nights ago, with back pain so bad that I could not move. The Md put my on Valium 10mg, and Percocet 5/325mg 1-2 q 4-6hrs, as needed. Is this OK for the baby? I do not see my OB/GYN until tomorrow.

I am taking the valium I have, and fever medication thats not over the counter to help with the hot/old sweats. Today is going to be a long day but amazingly the combination that I am taking is helping. Thank you for all the support.

I read the Thomas recipe and dont have access to Valium, but am currently on an ant-depressant now. Can I substitute that for the Valium???

There are no problems with narcotics and pregnancy. Especially as early as you are. Percocet is also a very mild narcotic. You can take it safely and in fact pain will cause stress and many other related problems which are harmful for the baby. I have a disease and was on much stronger narcotics for my whole pregnancy - I have a healthy happy 4 year old and 2 month old. Don't worry!

One more time , If I was to Stop Percocet and start Hydrocone would it make me less Sleepy it the Meds is whats causing it.

After 3 months and 360 percocet,, some pure oxy and morphine for a week in the hospital I told him I was ready to get on Tylenol 3's. He was shocked. He said Tylenol 3 is a bad drug, I want you to take Vicodin, "it's easier to get off." Now I don't even know if that's true. A lot of people, many here need pain control and that's how we got in this boat. I wonder if Tylenol 3 is harder to get off than hydro? Did he lie to me?

My experience with urine screens is that the doc thinks they are foolproof and only science can trump itself. I took a valium once and it came back as temazepam (restoril) instead of diazepam (valium). My doc was POSITIVE I took the restoril (A BIG NO_NO) instead of valium (ok'd for 1 dose). Since they produce a lot of the same metabolites, a second test was done to further determine which benzo it was. Bingo! It was valium!

I have an anxiety disorder as well along with depression that is currently in remission. I take valium and remeron for both these conditions along with percocet and morphine. You can always call your pharmacist and they can also address your concerns but based on experience from taking these types of medications long term, you are most likely okay and the headache may be unrelated to the percocet.

Well, dear, I'm, assuming you are due to have some kind of drug test, and are concern about passing it? Why not instead, share what you have taken that you are fearful of showing up? A drug test looks for more than narcotics, too. They tyopically look for benzos (Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Valium), cocaine, opiates (Vicodin, Percocet), and others. There are different kinds of drug tests. There's really no way to know until you take it.

I have been on 4-10mg. percocet for 5 months and about 5 days ago I decided I was sick of taking the meds and spending the money so I drastically cut them to where I am only on 1 1/2 pill a day. Yes, I have had withdrawal symptons but I am determined to quit this vicious cycle. Has anyone had a similar experience. I also take a 10 mg. valium a day.

I am prescribed Fentanyl Patch 100mcg every 36 hrs, Diladid 8mg 2-3 daily, Percocet 7.5 4 daily, Norco 7.5 4 daily, klonopin 1mg 4x daily, Valium 10mg 2-3 daily, Flexeril 10mg 3x daily, Phenergan 25mg 2x daily. I now am down to taking 50mcg Fentanyl every 72 hrs, 1/2 so 4 mg of Diladid if needed 0-2 a day, 1/2 of Percocet so about 3.5 mg 1-2 daily, Norco 1/2 so 3mg 0-2x a day, Klonopin 1/2 or less so .5ish 2x a day, Valium 1/2 so 5.

I know of people who are on suboxone and benzo's at the same time, most sub doctors dont tend to prescribe both, but some will. Buprenorphine the active opiate in sub is a powerful drug, so taking valium or other benzos can be very dangerous. Whatever you do be completely honest about when your last dose of any opiate was, you have to be in a moderate-severe withdrawal in order to start sub treatment so be honest.

I can't possibly go to my doctor of 22 years and tell him I need Valium as an ingredient for the Thomas Recipe so I can get off OXY (approx 4 times a year I have a reoccuring injuring that I get 30 percs for - I've never gotten hooked on these - and don't want him to think I will cause they really help when I need them - in fact, once the pain is gone, I'm able to leave them in my medicine cabinet for ages). Also - where else can one get methadone? only dr prescribed?

Sub is very expensive. benzos like traycee said they CAN NOT BE CTED.I really should like toy have to sit down with your doctor have a very long discussion like how long will you be on the sub how expensive it is if you remain on it (from what I hear it costs alot.) what recovery care is you doctor planing i setting you up on. What were you on all these med for ?

I have been clean for over 4 yrs now but due to herniated discs and spinal stenosis, my doctor has put me on MSContin 30mg 2x daily, Percocet/Acetominophen 325 10 mg 3x daily and Valium 10 mg 3x daily for pain. I go to a county doctor who is not knowledgeable about any of these things. I must see him due to lack of insurance and low income. I wonder if anyone out there would know of the effects this drug combo could have on my liver.

its sunday now and its not any better. but in order to sleep i would take just one percocet at night and a valium in the morning just to get going, is this prolonging my withdrawals? i figured since suboxone is an opiode i could get away with taking one percocet since my body isnt addicted to that.
