Tylenol #3 with the codeine is a little easier withdrawal than the percs...

My father gave me this Canadian tylenol with caffeine and codeine in it. I have been taking it for months at about 12 to 16 a day as that's what he said to do. I took my last four this morning. I am really frightened that I'm going have bad withdrawals from it. What can I do? Please help!

she told me she may have given me a tylenol with codeine, because she has cancer so she has them, and she keeps them in the same bottle as her regular tylenol in her purse. im sure that she did know she was giving me that, and didnt think she would be doing me any harm, since she didn't know im withdrawaling from an opiate.

My husband whom I left to a percocet addiction recently received a Tylenol with Codeine prescription for his "BACK PAIN". Shouldn't he not have this narcotic due to his severe addiction to oxycodone?

i was wondering why tylenol 3 would make me constipated? because percocet doesn't. would it be the codeine causing the constipation? is this a 'normal' question? and is it 'normal' to be constipated from one but not the other? thanks for all your help.

Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol #3 is codeine, a weaker narctoic but is also habit forming,,,,always look at your tylenol content as you could inadvertantly take more as it is not quite as strong....

Tylenol 3 is a combination of acetaminophen, codeine and caffeine. Usually codeine like other opioids and derivative is associated with dizziness, unlike in your case where sleep is missing. Possibly effect of caffeine or due to excessive stress prior to surgery. This may increase the anesthetic requirements during surgery. You could visit the hospital tomorrow and anti anxiety, medicines could be prescribed which can allay anxiety preoperatively. Try to take it easy and all the best.

5/325 so that I can break them in half and take an additional tylenol with it if I need to. My Dr. was only comfortable giving me two pain pills to take a day so I asked for 7.5's so I could do this...that way I could break them in half and take pain meds three to four times a day and cover myself all day. It inly takes the edge off, but it's all I can do right now.

Codeine (in the Tylenol 3) could be the culprit. It metabolizes in a complex way into morphine and many other substances. You might ask your PM about that? Could you stop the Tylenol 3 for a month and see if this affects your urinalysis?

Hi. My wife just got back from Canada and bought some pills that are like Vivodene. They are Tyonol with codeine. Acetaminophen 300mg, caffine 15mg and codeine 8mg. Isn't that dose of codeine higher thatn what is a Vicodene ES of 7.5? Thank you..

Maybe that has something to do with it. I know I had issues and they gave me Percocet. I would assume its ok, but since it sounds like a dentist wrote out the script, might want to call in to you Dr office and run it by them really quick.

am! Get on with it!!! There is only one way through this, and that is to just JUMP, and be done with it. I have to say thank you for something. What you said about counting, worrying, hiding.....that really made me grateful for my sobriety again! See.....that is what I hated most. Making sure I had enough pills for this or that or can I go on vacation or will I be in WD and miserable? I HATED that life, but I didn't know the way out.

Thanks Ashe!! I'm 32 weeks. And I'm just going to not take any now. My doctor said that there is very little codeine in the tylenol 1. 8mg. But still with being hormonal and starting to worry about everything!! I should know better than to read stuff on the internet!! I’m in the UK and a number of times when reading posts have wondered what certain drugs are in the US as they are all called different things in the UK. What exactly is Vicodin, Percocet etc? We have codeine phosphate here which contain 30mg of codeine each. When I see people talk about 5’s and 10’s etc, are they talking about pills with 5mg or 10mg of codeine in or is it completely different?

I had terrible headaches the entire treatment of 48 weeks. After numerous appeals for help and testing to make sure I didn't have a brain tumor or something like that, my GP put me on darvon and then, when that didn't work, put me on NORCO which is hydrocodone with tylenol, but less tylenol than usual. It really helped with my headaches and I credit it for helping me to stay on SOC and eventually SVR. I was taking alot of them though and had to be weaned off of them at the end of tx.

I would say no. I get migraines and just try to manage along with my 17 month old and 7 yr old. If your strongly considering make sure your Dr gives you the okay. Remember everything you put in your body your baby absorbs. Not that I'm one of those people anti meds I just worry about the baby. I had my wisdom teeth taken out last week and they gave me oxycodone /Tylenol for the pain. They said they wouldn't prescribe anything they think could be harmful and the stress from physical pain can cause more problems than the medicine. I was worried at first but I had an u/s today and everything is healthy as ever, and I didn't have to deal with horrible aches either.

I'm hesitant to answer this because no one can guarantee the safety of any medicine, no matter how well-known or understood that medicine... however...opiates by themselves don't do "damage" persay...aside from the obvious stress on your liver and addictive potential, they don't get in there and permanently damage your systems. They do screw with your endorphin production but I really don't think it has anything to do with what you described.

Oxycodone also has an option without Tylenol. it is available in a 5 mg strength so this may be an option too. You need to discuss this with your doctor and ask him what options he/she can offer. I would highly suggest not going in and asking for a specific drug, this raises huge red flags. Just speak to your doctor and inform them that the Darvocet is not controlling the pain and that your concerned about the Tylenol content on a daily basis and they will adjust your medicines accordingly.

I have a fear of addiction, so I was taking percocet for two weeks and then tylenol 4 for two weeks. I went away and left my percocet, but had four tylelnol 4. I had gone through withdrawal with tylenol 4. I used to not take it for a week to give my body a rest. The withdrawals were only stomach cramps and diarrhea and imodium took care of that. Now I have more withdrawals (I have only been taking the percocet for three months) the worse is the anxiety and goose bump feeling.
