percocet and prednisone

put me on prednisone, and percocet, have been on prednisone for four days and beginning to decrease my dose...find little relief with percocet 7.5/500 taking 1 every six hours, will run out tomorrow. Am really beginning to worry and become weary with all this pain. Stitched area healing fine with no signs of infection. Have limited function in the right arm which leaves me helpless as this is my dominant side. Any suggestions?

I started taking milk thistle and charcoal but is there anything I can do to lower my liver levels?

While I was there, they gave me an iv with fluids, 60mg of prednisone, and because my hives were painful and did not itch they gave me 20mg of percocet. With my fever and generally feeling of being out of it, I did not tell them I am a addict, not to mention my husband was there and he doesn't know of the situation. Anyways, I am worried how I will feel tomorrow with the percocet being in my system. Am I going to feel any type of withdrawl? Do I have to start my ticker over?

I went to the ER this morning and they said it was just hypersensitivity to the solarcaine and gave me prednisone and percocet. The percocet is not helping and is making me nauseous. The prednisione has helped little or none. My parents are pretty much ignoring me and pretty much telling me to stop complaining. I want to jump onto a bed of nails. Any remedies would be greatly appreciated along with any ideas as to how long this will last. Thanks.

nurses tried to draw blood and I had red areas of bleeding under my skin. I was on Percocet 5 every 4 hours or 2 tyenol. I also took 15-30g of glutamine for a few days and 2g/day of methenamine, 2g/day sodium salicylate for a UTI. I have NAFLD but neg hepatitis I started 6g-9g day NAC, 500mg choline, milk thistle, protein shakes. I hope my liver isn't scarred or I got hepatic encepalapothy, ammonia damage?

4 months ago I began a therapy with prednisone (25 mg per day) and one month lather I got tested for hiv 1-2, the result hopefully was negative and all my blood exams were normal (but antibodies against HBV positive, without virus). PM doc gave 6 day course of prednisone for "costochondritis". Orthopedic surgeon said rest and take NSAID's (can't due to stomach/liver problems) Taking Meloxicam 3x a day and Percocet to sleep. can only lay in one position for 14 months. It is REALLY painful!

I took prednisone 60mg plus 2 steroid dose packs plus a short acting and long acting steroid injection in the past 6 weeks. Read all the side effects of prednisone, it might be that it is related to the prednisone or prednisone is causing the water retension to be worse... just a thought. Maxing out at 200mg per day of Imuran with 400mg hydroxychloroquine and 60mg prednisone was of no use for me. Addition of rituximab induced a 14 month remission. I think Imuran works for some people and not others. Even at 200mg Imuran, I noticed no side effects.

On the way out I talked to a lady there and I told her I was bipoler and was on prednisone for joint pain. She told me that prednisone can bring on a psychotic phase in normal people and with a pre-existing condition it can be really ugly. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

My question is, how much prednisone (and for how long) do you prescribe before and after treatment. Do you recommend prednisone for everyone, or only for those with eye disease? My endo said that he thinks the risk of prednisone is greater than the risk of eye disease and doesn't want to prescribe it. I know that long-term use of prednisone can block thyroid absorption but would a 6-day course of prednisone (METHYLPREDNISOLONE 4MG DOSPAK 21) block absorption enough to bump a TSH from 0.11 to 22.06 even while taking the required thyroid supplements???? The last time I *had* to get my TSH this high (for RAI) it took me 4 weeks and the low iodine diet to get my TSH this high (and I still had remaining thyroid tissue). Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. In theory, potent immunosuppressive therapy might delay development of antibody and hence a positive HIV test. However, I stress "in theory": to my knowledge, no such cases have actually been reported in the medical literature. And although you took a hefty dose of prednisone, it's not all that potent compared with other immunosuppressive drugs, and only 5 days treatment is unlikely to have had any effect at all.

I have since refused both prednisone and inhaled steroids and am much better for it. I use natural anti-inflammatories. However I do not have IPF, but COPD. I don't know if that makes a difference. P.S. My pulmonary MD has a hard time accepting that I reacted in this way. Also the treatment caused me to suffer adrenal fatigue.
