So I had my little girl on Feb 18th and I was only taking Motrin. Well today my pain has hit a all time high so I decided to take the Percocets that my Dr gave me from my Csection... Can I still breastfeed while taking them?

By the way, take some major pain meds like percocet and muscle relaxer and a motrin 800 combined. It wont kill you trust me, my doctor put me on flexiril, percocet, and motrin 800 and insisted I take them at the same time. It will ease the pain a lot a it will help with your uterus contracting. It also relaxes you and will help you sleep through it. Good Luck honey and sorry to hear that.

You are smart to recognize that you've got a problem. For one, NO dental issue should require pain meds for a year. The answer to dental pain is always to fix the problem. I'm amazed at how many people (addiction issues or not) think they HAVE to have a narcotic after dental work. I've had extensive dental procedures and have never been Rx'ed a narcotic for pain. Motrin and tylenol always keeps me comfortable.

I have bad back and neck trouble, and yes you will build a tolerance to them to where you need more and more, I would try taking one of the four closer to bed time, so when its time to come off it wont be so hard 4 a day is not that bad but you can still have w/d even on that amount. Maybe try alaeve or motrin at bed time with a perc, TRY NOT to take more than DR order.

When I was still on Peg/Riba combo tx for HCV, the Dr Rx'd me 2 Percocet a day which worked great and my ALT stayed in the 20’s. Now that I’m back at work, I don’t want to take the Percocet because I have a lot of driving to do so I switched to Advil during the day and my ALT started to rise. Maybe I’m better off just taking a Percocet to get me through the day. I can get by on a lot less Percocet than I can Advil.

They gave me motrin for the first 24 hours, then percocet. They give you the options of one or two and I just took one. The best way to heal after is to get moving (slowly), and without pain meds u you tend to walk and move guarded, so you could heal slower. I was worried about being loopy, but I wasn't at all and was able to enjoy my baby. I only took one percocet after leaving the hospital and took the motrin for a few days. I do have a high pain tolerance though.

Can I take percocet or tramadol to control the pain.

my only suggestion would be if you have to have any more surgeries ask for something non-narcotic.....motrin 800 works great for me when i have true pain....hang in there and please post if you have any more questions....

Its hard with other kids and the worst is bending and walking up the stairs. She gave me some vicodin but only a few left and motrin does nothing. What worked for you?

There are no problems with narcotics and pregnancy. Especially as early as you are. Percocet is also a very mild narcotic. You can take it safely and in fact pain will cause stress and many other related problems which are harmful for the baby. I have a disease and was on much stronger narcotics for my whole pregnancy - I have a healthy happy 4 year old and 2 month old. Don't worry!

So here I am at over two months sober from Percocet, and I had an accident which landed me in this hospital. When I was there, nothing was given to me for pain, although it was offered by the doctor who saw me. Here is the thing... I am in a lot of pain right now, and they gave me 45 Vicodin to go home with. The pharmacy [in this town] is inside the hospital, so when you're discharged, the pills are discharged right along with you.

While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.

You may require another type of pain medication along with the Motrin like Percocet or Vicodin. This can help alleviate some of the cramping you will experience. Take care of yourself Sweetheart.

Hi and welcome~ You're wise to be concerned. Addiction is no picnic!! But,personally,I think you're fine. You seem aware of the pitfalls and can go days without anything. If you're able to, take Motrin,try 800mgs. between each dose of Percocet. You can take it up to 3x per day. Also,try other things to cut down on your foot pain like hot soaks several times a day. And good shoes! Very important...

Motrin, hot baths,rest,etc...Be patient.

im very head strong, im not gonna be taking percocet everyday bc of a headache, its just this pain and pressure and nothing over the counter really works for me, i hate percocet actually my drug of choice was hydrocodone 10/325, so when i take a perk it doesnt phase me in the least, weird huh??? But I need the advice..I have a family party to go to today I cant be all in pain and **** with my head and its OUTSIDE! wonderful....

I just read this post and am not sure how helpful my response will be now...but, I am a week off snorting percocet and oxy contin now and feel fantastic! i hear ya tho on the sinus and nose pain, even your eyes. I will tell you what helped me, right or wrong it WORKED for me, with of course the will power and the want to quit it.

after my c-section i alternated percocet and motrin. i did not feel any weied effects, and both are safe for bf'ing. the motrin was actually more effective, but i did need extra pain relief between doses so i took the percocet too. i would ask your ob what you were prescribed and discuss it with him. as for the sweating... i noticed that too, although mine lasted a few weeks. i think it's hormonal shifts. you may want to purchase a waterproof mattress pad to protect your mattress.

o mannn i tried not taking the percocet and i'm not a very happy camper right now!

The only medication I've taken since getting off the pain pills is Tylenol or Motrin, and that's because I have legit issues with my back and leg. Other than that, there's been no consumption of any medicines. Like I said before, once life slows down a little bit for me, I plan on seeking out medical assistance from a doctor -OR- psychiatrist to see what can help me with the anxiety without the use of medication, period.

ve been taking Bayer Headache, Advil, Motrin, Excedrin, and a couple other store brand non-asprin type pills and NOTHING has given me any relief whatsoever. They gave me a percocet, which also did nothing for me.... I started crying and practically demanded a CAT scan when he tried to brush it off as a normal headache and send me home..

granted it dosnt go away but it makes it bearable...and chances are if you take that percocet it will make your headache worse....I hope this helps...good luck!!!

It all started when i got a tooth pulled. I was on the percocet, while on them i still had to go to work and it just made the day fly by. It made me concentrate more..It made everything better....until now. I am so consumed with this ****** addiction and im ready to kick this habit.It has effected myself,my family,my financial security and my relationship...I spend about $80 a day 7 days a week. You do the math..Its terrible.

We all have aches and paind from time to time and if you are doing well, then I would just stay focused and get rid of the percs. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I have been taking 2-4 percocets per day for about a year. Like most people I try and stop and can only last a couple days. My question is besides cold turkey is there a method out there that works? Is there other meds available to stop the cravings? what damage have I may already done to my brain/ organs Thanks in advance for your responses.
