Percocet and laxative

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and laxative

percocet

433485 tn?1321813390 I am in Pain management and take 15 mg of percocet a day. I have bowel movement, 2 or 3 every day, but sometimes I will miss a day. When that happens I take miralax. I also take fiber everyday and when I think about it ( bad I know) colace that was prescribed by gi. they sent me home with presciption for miralax and had me drink citrate magnesium that night to clean out. I am now following directions and doing what I was told to do. My question is has this ever happened to any one else?
Avatar f tn -when you stop laxatives, you may experience discomfort of constipation and bloating. I upped my fibre in my diet and used natural ginger supplements to combat the bloating. A diet, high in fibre will get your bowels moving on your own again.
Avatar f tn I was severly constipated when I was first pg....im now 23w6d and have no problems. Good luck...i know it ***** and hurts but try a stool softener or start taking 1 in the am and take another before bed.
Avatar f tn Okay so my aunt gave me The brand name Fleet Saline Enema Laxative and I'm 9 weeks pregnant. I wanted to know what this okay to take or no.
Avatar f tn -) they taste amazing, have boxtops and clean you out
Avatar m tn Do you think laxative use about once a month is too much and will cause lazy colon or is that not so bad? I do have bowel movements but sometimes i just need to get "the rest" out after a month or so.
489000 tn?1364302227 I did, however, need to take laxative, since constipation (a side effect of percocet) had taken over. Man, thank goodness I had been warned by moms how aweful and painful constipation in pregnancy can be. I would have been freaking out if they had not shared their stories with me. So, the point of this post...just wanted to put this out there so if unfortunately anyone else goes through this, you know you'll eventually be fine.
620923 tn?1452915648 I am also taking pepcid, valium, and percocet for one more day. Then the doctor wil switch it to norco (sp). I am allergic to one of the meds and have a rash, but not severe enough to stop taking any of them. I also got a UTI from the catheter while in recovery which is why I am on antibiodics. Any advice on the nausea would be apreciated. Thanks all!
Avatar m tn It is over the counter and is an osmotic laxative. The bottle says take 15 ML for laxative affect, but for me I have to fill the little cup that comes with the bottle to the top (60 ML), then you drink a pile of water and within a few hours your system is flushed, literally. I also take Percocet for the pain but being a narcotic, it is constipating as well. So without Milk of Magnesia, I would not have even a semi-normal existence. I hope you can try some.
Avatar n tn A couple weeks ago I was vaccinated with 3 vaccines and then I took a extreme HARDCORE laxative (4 days later after my vaccination) that gave me diarrhea 7 times and which lasted for 7 hours and now I'm wondering if I flushed the dead virus before I was immunized to meningitis, hepatitis A , tdap. -------------------------------------------------------------------- ((Note: I'm not an anorexic, and I studied psychology; I know that anorexic deny their problem.
Avatar f tn Over a 4 month period I was Rx'd Vicodin 10-325 tab, Percocet and than Roxicet for pain related to b/l rotator cuff tears. I was not advised to take a stool softener and at times was very constipated. About 4 weeks after one shoulder surgical repair and when I was using Vicodin intermittently, I than developed gastritis. Zantac calmed my system after three weeks and was than discontinued. Now I have a heavy feeling in my stomach and significant burping. My bowel has also slowed.
Avatar f tn I was very weak and my parent disagree. Therefore doctor asked me to take Dulcolax ( laxative) daily to make my bowel moving. He told me there is no side effects of the Dulcolax. I have been taking it for 12 years and recently, my digestion turns worse. I went to x ray checking, gastroscopy and colonoscopy again. My result was not as what as expected. For x ray small bowel checking, doctor said my small intestine becomes lazy, suspected over years using Dulcolax.
Avatar n tn Hi Keisha! My name is Laila and I am 20 years old and I was also an anorexic, and then I became a Bulimic. I abused numerous laxatives, and enemas, and I also "cleaned" my body out by using cleansers. They did work for a short amount of time, but now I have noticed that when I tried to quit using them all my digestive system was terribly slow. So I decided to speak to my doctor about it.
Avatar m tn s been retained in your body and liquids are absorbed inside the intestines. And go buy some prunes and eat a few of them. Do not be surprised if you experience abdominal pain as the warm water and prunes begin to push the dried fecal matter through the intestines. When you do go, expect you are going to have dry, hard fecies followed by a blast of diarrhea from the warm water and the prunes.
7570109 tn?1399081069 I was stopped up for 10 days and the only thing that gave me relief was an enema or 2 and the clear laxative in the glass bottle.
794656 tn?1237171629 Laxative abuse can cause permanent damage to your kidneys, liver and colon function. Because laxatives work on the colon and not the stomach all but 12% of the calories ingested are excreted with laxative use. In addition, laxative abuse can cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalances (causing arrhythmias and heart attack), bloating, gas, severe abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. Avatar n tn I had my results back from a previous test today and they where clear, however i overdosed on laxatives today badly and became really dehydrated. I need nexts weeks test to be clear too. Will it show up that ive used laxatives? Surely a week of using them wont make a difference if i was fine before?
Avatar n tn i have had 2 bottles of magnesium citrate, one at 6 pm yesterday and one at 4 PM, 2 dulcolax tablets 4pm, MoviPrep 32 ounces of MoviPrep and will be taking another 32 ounces of MoviPrep at 4 AM in the morning.
Avatar f tn What is the best way to help my body to recover from laxative dependency?
Avatar f tn I drank an entire bottle of mineral oil laxative in about 3 days. You're only supposed to take 3 tbs every 24 hours, I've taken much more than that. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Or is this no big deal?
1222635 tn?1366396286 after i eat my belly becomes bloated below my belly button, where my intestines are. i try to take gas medicine but it doesn't help much. ive become obsessed with this, as i am a thin, toned girl but i HATE the fact that i become bloated. if it gets bad enough or ive eaten a lot the night before and i know it'll happen once it's digested, i take a laxative. i take phillips milk of magnesia, as it's not harsh or a stimulant. i only take a laxative maybe once a week.
Avatar f tn My suffering has served to open an investigation at my clinic. I hope that my perserverence has helped to open the eyes of the clinicians and administrators to this potentially lethal misdiagnosis' I worry about folks that aren't as aggressive as I had been. Do they go home and accept they will suffer? How many would be so depressed and sickened by this they simply give up. How very sad. Thankfully I had been in this clinic for many years and was not frightened to speak up.
Avatar m tn My HR is a little elevated probably due to the stimulant laxative (around 100) and my BP was about 125/85 - 135/85 right when i wake up from that short nap and lower when i have been up a little bit I tried to get in to see the doctor but no luck Any suggestions? I am going to have to cut down on the amount of food, thats for sure.
Avatar f tn i've taken laxative orange sugar free powder and stool softner and all i do is pass gas... I want to use the bathroom and do # 2.
Avatar f tn Try drinking warm lemon water every morning and drink a lot of water throughout the day, add more fiber and greens to your diet. Eat fruit like berries, pears, and apples to your diet as well and stay away from starchy high carb foods. Prues also work but only if you drink lots water.
765828 tn?1306263868 My PA prescribed Miralax for me and I suppose it works - I started with a Fiber Supplement (laxative and something else, I forget) and Benefiber as well as Ensure (weight gain shakes) with Fiber. That helped a little, too. He told me to stop taking the fiber supplement but continue with the Benefiber and Miralax. But I'm curious if it would be safe to add a stool softener to these two fiber/laxative treatments? I have chronic constipation, rarely diarrhea.
