Percocet and fibromyalgia

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and fibromyalgia

percocet

Avatar f tn The pain is getting worse with each day. Has anyone gone through pregnancy with fibromyalgia? I have no clue what to do. I was diagnosed after my first pregnancy 8 years ago. This is all new to me and I didn't know that I will be in this much pain so early. I am only 4 weeks and I need a solution for the rest of this time. Any advice?
Avatar f tn I would go with the oxycodone (percocet) over the hydrocodone (vicodin), because it's possible to get the oxycodone in it's pure form in a pill without the tylenol in it. The -cet suffix on the percocet is what denotes the acetominophen or Tylenol. In the generic form, it would give the mg strength of the pill (ie, 5/500) and then say APAP on the label.
Avatar f tn all she wants to talk about is fibromyalgia and that my pain is subjective not objective...then the next time I see her she says fibromyalgia does not exist...I found out about the results of my xrays from disability insurance when I could not take the pain anymore and had to stop work. Okay now to the point of my question...right now in the past 2 weeks she has taken me off both trazadone and flexural at the same time and prescribed Nortriptyline.
Avatar n tn I have chronic pain and fibromyalgia and have seen a number of different specialists and tried lyrica, cymbalta and lots of different medications before my pain management doctor put me on Percocet. It is the only thing that helps me function everyday. I am now pregnant. My pain management doctor refused to continue to prescribe it to me even though I have been on it for almost 2 years now. She told me to take tylenol which doesn't come close to helping with the pain.
Avatar n tn A good say for me with just little pain would require about 6 percocet a day. With my most recent pregnancy my PCP had me at that dose and I managed fairly well. My problem is that because I metabolize meds faster than most because I'm pregnant so how do I get good pain management?

Avatar n tn The two types of pain are different. The fibromyalgia is primarily a pain in the muscles and tendons, whereas the neuropathies are of the nerve fibers. The first presents with soreness and achiness or tenderness, and the second, burning, or electrical type buzzing, or sharp cutting pain etc. Diabetes and peripheral neuropathies often go together. Also, Asthma can masquerade as COPD, and visa versa. So I don't know if any of that helped, but it's additional information.
Avatar f tn I also take Lyrica for nerve pain, Trazadone and Flexeril at night to help with sleep and muscle spasms, and I am on Zoloft and bloodpressure meds. I went a long time with no pain meds then to Tramadol then to Lortab, etc.... I have very high pain levels on a daily basis plus I have a high tolerance to meds so the weaker ones never worked well for me. The meds I am on now help more than anything else ever has and I am so thankful! I still have pain but it is a lot easier to deal with now.
Avatar m tn In order to help the WD effects, I took whatever I had in the med cabinet... Imodium, Ativan, Gabapentin (sp?), lots and lots of Smart Water, and prayer. Anyhow, I feel great now and honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal, but here's the PROBLEM: Tomorrow, my prescription will be available. Should I fill it? I don't think I should but then my mind tells me that I may need one for my knee or fibromyalgia. I am in much pain now, with a fibro flare up. ugh.
1548147 tn?1293815905 t helping one bit. He upped my Lyrica to 75mg twice a day now and I am still taking the percocet as well. I have looked online and my symptoms seem to be just like the ones listed as fibromyalgia symptoms so I am going to make an appointment with my regular doctor on Monday and see if she can maybe run some tests to see what can be found and ruled out and go from there. I am just worried that this is something I may have to get used to and it really scares me because it makes me miserable.
Avatar m tn Went back to dr for follow up,wanted to give me Tylenol 3 and flexiril. I went back to ER got another shot of dilaudid and a Percocet then had a pain management dr appt next day. Went there here perscribed dilidid and a muscle relaxer. Not working. I'm switching back and forth to Percocet. I also have norco I've thrown in a couple times. Help!?
Avatar f tn 5mg limit 6 a day, nuerontin 600mg tid, and esgic plus 50-500-40mg however my insurance stopped covering the percocet 7.5mg and so they had to prescribe me the 5/325! I just found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks 3 days my obgyn said that th percocet was fine for me to continue howeveri would have to disconinue the other medications. My problem is tht the 5mg percocet was already not helping enough with my pain and now stopping the other medications its really not enough!
Avatar m tn Ok, I was prescribed Percocet 5mg for my fibromyalgia and pinched nerve. This is the second script. Now I didn't even take any of the pills, because they don't help me enough and I don't wanna OD on them. I didn't mention flushing them to the doc because i was worried they'd think i sold them. I only said they didn't help. Can I get in trouble in I flushed my pills and the urine test comes up negative for percocet? Like will my doc drop me?
Avatar m tn I do have legitimate pain issues from surgical adhesions, fibromyalgia and nerve damage. I am trying to manage that pain with over the counter meds, vitamins, and SNRIs now. I don't have anyone I can turn to for help. How long will this last? I just want to give in now and get more. Help!
Avatar f tn put me on prednisone, and percocet, have been on prednisone for four days and beginning to decrease my dose...find little relief with percocet 7.5/500 taking 1 every six hours, will run out tomorrow. Am really beginning to worry and become weary with all this pain. Stitched area healing fine with no signs of infection. Have limited function in the right arm which leaves me helpless as this is my dominant side. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hi, I was in a similar position last May....I was taking Oxycontin and Percocet for my broken tailbone, and was becoming quite tolerant to them, and I had a major surgery scheduled to remove a portion of my coccyx bone--a very painful surgery with a lengthy and very painful recovery. It is very important to make sure that all the doctors know your doses, so that they can give you the correct amount of anesthesia, and post-op meds.

537731 tn?1268265286 She said I will always have to go up in dosage on Percocet and with Methadone I wouildnt and that the difference between sub and methadone is sub blocks opiates and doesnt help with pain but methadone was. I have been on the same dosage of perc for years and they dont work as much as they use to. I was just worried about getting my prescription filled period I wasn't going to bring up I am taking more and they dont work the same I am still in pain taking them.
Avatar f tn ve been taking Lyrica for about 2 years and am now down to a 1/2 dose on it. I have fibro/CFS and was taking OC the equiv of 64 percocet a day, and I'm only 120lbs. The Lyrica has given me my whole life back!! It works for neurological pain, as does Neurontin. For me, just me, it has been nothing short of a miracle as I was looking at taking full disability due to the fibro. The Cymbalta they say helps with the pain and depression, I take that as well.
1069644 tn?1276928863 (neck and shoulders are the worst). I am on cymbalta 30 mg, diclofenac and percocet 4x day. Is there anything else that I can do to help the pain? Will it ever get better or will it continue to get worse? I'm afraid I will end up an invalid, feel pretty close now! Any insight will be greatly appreciated. I guess I still don't understand how this disease works. Thanks for listening.
Avatar n tn I am also on Percocet and Tramadal. I was trying not to take the Percocet because being on two addictive narcotics makes me nervous, but now I am having to take it several times a day in order to control my pain. So my question is, for others who experience the constant nerve pain, what medication works for you? If there is something else out there that will work better I want to know so I can talk to the doctor about it tomorrow. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I would start a new thread "Pregnancy and Fibromyalgia". This way it will be more visible than down under this subject. You'll get many responses that way If Baclofen is available in Canada ask your Dr. about it.
Avatar f tn She has almost become crippled by this hip problem and pain and pain meds and Neurontin do nothing to help. Her fatjher has Multiple Sclerosis and I am desperate to find out what is wrong with her. She is becoming very depressed to be so sick at such a young age. She also has IBS. Do you see anything about all her symptoms that could indicate something?
Avatar f tn I am in terrible, constant, all over body pain and also have an all over burning sensation since an MVA over one year ago. I've tried Cymbalta, Sevella, Neurontin, Vicodin, Tramadol, Darvocet N 100, Nucynta, and Percocet. I've also tried anti depressants, Ativan, and Valium in conjunction with the pain meds. I've had steroid injections in my spine and also tried Lidocaine patches. Does anyone have experience with a pain med that works for this type of chronic pain?
426655 tn?1219893192 sad anniversary of enduring constant agonizing pain in my leg and also pretty much everywhere (feet, knees pain and weakness) I did get an ANA, ESR, ANCA, RA factors being investigated and it is all normal. Rheumatoid Arthritis was ruled out and Fibromyalgia score 9, so too low apparently for this disease. Bone scan was normal too. Heat brings me comfort, but I'm never pain free. I stopped taking Topamax as it alter my eating habits so much that I was virtually living off yogourt.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Percocet 10/325 three times a day, and it's just not working as well as it has been (I've been taking it for about. 4 years now). I don't know what to do, go to longer acting products or maybe just see if she will up my dose to every 6 hours. I've been trying to make it work for the last 1-2 years because I hesitate to ask for more medication even though she is a pain Dr.
Avatar f tn I have Spinal Stenosis throughout the spine, and Fibromyalgia along with other things I see a pain management Dr ( neurologist) since watson stopped making the percocet and now is replaced by Activas I have been having more problems and last month he said try it for 1 more month which I did so on Friday what he did was e - scripted 2 prescriptions 1 for the non - generic and one for the Activas.
Avatar n tn Prednisone was a nightmare, made her super manic and hyper. They sent her to a pain clinic and gave her percocets and tramadols but she has developed a high tolerance to them so she is back where she started because they won't increase her dosage and they won't offer her any other options. Anti-inflammatory over the counter pills don't help much anymore. Plus she is on blood pressure medicine and I heard that low blood pressure can make Fibro pain worsen.
Avatar f tn My mom has been on Percocet and Oxyneo and Oxycontin for 20 years, taking them everyday. 6 Percocet and 40 mg Oxy three times a day. Some times she would take a little less depending on the pain but never has stopped Her doctor is trying her on some different medication in which she had to be off Percocet and the Oxy for 48 hours. She said she hasn't had anything since Monday. I would of thought she would of been feeling terrible, really bad withdrawal.
