They have me on 30 mg oxycontin, twice daily, 10/325 percocet 6 a day, soma 4 times daily and xanax 2 mg for anxiety.
What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough. I talked with my doc last time I was there to see her, and this is when she switched me to the percocet from Vicoprofen, due to the fact that it was doing nothing for the pain.

Oxycontin usually comes in 10, 20,60,80 mg and typically doesn't have any tylenol.
Morphine comes is pill form as well as intravenous for severe pain.
So if you were prescribed 10 mg of oxycontin you were receiving less than 1 mg of oxycodone per hour versus the 10 mg of percocet that was released immediately into your system.
I don't know if you have had addiction issues in the past as you didn't state anything that would make me believe that. If you don't have addiction issues, it is very unlikely that would become addicted to the medication. Your body may become dependant but that is completely different.
I am on Percocet 10/325 and have been for 1.5 years for neck and back pain. I read some of the posts and someone suggested using Jeffjeff's method but I couldn't find it. If anyone has it, can you email it to me at ***@****.
I've tried going off this stuff cold turkey and the withdrawal symptoms are way too overwhelming. I can't do it. It is literally torture, it is hell! I'd much rather deal with the pain than be a prisoner to Percocet.
I was given percocet 10/325 for pain for surgery and was told to take 1 - 1 1/2 pills every 4-5 hours. I'm opiate tolerant but 15mg every 4-5 hours seems like a lot. Also I have percocet 7.5/325 that says I can take 2 every 3-4 hours. Is this posing any possible over dose problems or health problem? This will only be taken for a short amount of time.No more than 2 weeks. Any advise on the saftey of this would be appreciated.
not the whole 20 together, but I think she said she took 1 10 mg around 9ish and the other 10mg around 11ish. She has also taken 1 gram of Xanax. Is that safe? Can you take the both together? She is a very good friend of mine and I really just want to make sure she's going to be ok. They're typically low doses, but 2 different pills at the same time.
I've been able to reduce my addiction down to 1/2 a 30 mg pill every 6 to 7 hours with an occasional relapse into small binging. For some reason I can't reduce my taper to below a half pill every 7 hours. When I'm lucky enough to sleep and go beyond 7 hours to 8, I feel awful and crazy enough to behave foolishly in public. So I snort another half a tab. Were I to swallow the half pill rather than inhaling it, I wouldn't feel the effects enough to ward off withdrawal symptoms.
I admit my own naivity on the subject, so I leave it to one of you to help understand. I have come in contact with Percocet, which contains 2.5MG of Oxy, but then I also see an 80mg Oxy tablet on the market. Is the 80mg a time released version? Can you cut the pill four ways to instead have 4 20mg doses? Can anyone send me to a decent place to learn about Oxy doses?
Percocet has oxycodone in it rather than the hydrocodone in Vicodin. Oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone. In my experience, the oxy worked better and I had less side effects (upset stomach and "dumb" feeling).

Knowing she has fibromyalgia...her dr is probably prescribing LDN which is "Low Dose Naltrexone". While it is an opiate antagonist and blocks the effects of opiates at doses of 50 mg to 100 mg....
Her dosages have increased so much over the year...at first Tylenol #4 ...then percocet..
I quit cold turkey and I was on my 4th day and I just took a 5 mg perc. Was that a bad idea I was withdrawing really bad for not being on them for that long, should I start lowering doses or just go back to cold turkey, I felt so crappy work was impossible I was throwing up all day today, which lead me to take the 5 mg perc to ease the pain! I don't know what I should do! Help!!
