In regard to injection, if u pull back and see blood does it mean you hit a.capillary,or vein or what? Last week the nurse who gave me the shot did.not pull back and check for blood. If there is blood can u withdraw needle and inject in different spot in same area?

The nurse gave me the Pegasys injection intramuscular in my arm instead of subcutaneous? Will that have any effect on the course of treatment? Does it have the same efficacy?will I still benefit from the injection in the same intended way?

then he recommend Pegasys, injection po siya for 48 weeks, Salamat sa Dios kasi he lead me to my new Dr. I believe that God has a plan for all of us. inform you guys what will happen. after I'm going on my third week now taking this medicine after the fourth week I will have my sgpt test. I would like to avoid injecting in my thighs if possible due to the irritation at the injection site and the fact that my legs ache so massaging them would be difficult coupled with the irritation. I just took my 4th shot so no irritation there yet, but the first 2 places have a brown colored appearance and the 3rd site is still red, itches, and feels like a bad sunburn. All these splotches are not quite as big as a tennis ball.

I think you'll find that a lot of people have irritation at the injection site. There were a few things that we found to be very helpful, and which reduced the redness at the site post-injection. One, make sure you've warmed up the Pegasys between your hands before, you don't want to inject cold interferon. Also, massaging the area for a few minutes post-injection was very helpful. Once we started doing these two things, the redness went away for the most part.

My physician prescribed PegIntron and gave me my fist treatment shot (he had a supply in the office). Come to find out that even after our insurance coverage, my out of pocket expense is $973 per month or PegIntron. I simply can't afford to pay this. I did some research and found that Pegasys is comparable and my copay would be $50 per month. I am also taking Ribavirin. I do not know if I can stop the PegIntron and start the Pegasys.

For Week 1, a nurse injected me to show me how Peg-Intron was administered (I had used Pegasys during my first treatment). After the first injection of Peg-Intron, I was completely immobilized with flu-type fever, chills, body-aches that lasted for about 3 days.

Your regular weekly Pegasys injection is on Monday. You remember on Friday that you forgot to take your injection on Monday (4 days late).You should inject your regularly scheduled dose immediately on Friday and take your next injection on Wednesday (5 days after your Friday dose). Your next injection will be on the Monday, 5 days later after the Wednesday injection. You are now back on your regularly scheduled day and should continue your injections every Monday.

m really worried about that clear liquid (looked like the pegasys) that slightly leaked out of the injection area.. blood followed. Hopefully I got enough of the meds in me.

Thanx Steff and studyforhope! 19th injection will be pegasys! It comes by the name of Exura by Roche in India. One thing I should say to myself that I should not expect some wonder to happen on changing but will it be safe in context to inmunological point of view. Though I'll be certainly changing to 2a next week.

I had only mild effects from Pegasys injection the first 24 - 36 hrs. and the first week was the most effects. Each week after that was less and less until after 20 or 30 weeks I hardly noticed any side-effects at all. It was so little that I thought that I got watered down Pegasys. I must have got used to it. I was HCV-1b am now cured. My blood was a little low but it make me sleep better.

So I ended up finishing the injection, and obviously I did not get the full amount of the pegasys in me (just another thing for me to worry about). In retrospect, maybe I should have pulled the needle out, and started with a new one - and chance having more pegasys, rather than less. Would it be bad to have extra pegasys? Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to handle an injection mishap?

I started Pegasys injection in June 2010 and finished the treatment in May 2011. In total , I had 48 jabs. My hair( only some parts of my head ) got thinned 4 months after I started Pegasys. Now, 1 year after I finished the treatment , the hair remains thinned and shows no sign of regrowth. I am afraid my hair will never regrow. I am just 29 and I am very self conscious about my appearance.

I just started TDF+ Pegasys (180 mcg) weekly+NTZ+vit d. I finished my 3rd injection last week. Only the first shot made me feel sick like having a flu. The whole body ached and felt cold but my doctor gave me Paracetomal to take if I cannot stand the pain. There was no more problem for 2nd and 3rd week.
