Pharmasset, Inc. The literature does not mention increased flatulence for Inc., but Inc. causes so many other rectal side effects, it would not surprise me if flatulence was a side effect of Inc.
I have cut my fat intake in half since I stopped Inc. a month ago but I still eat a lot of fat with my Riba pills. The flatulence disappeared very shortly, within a day or two, of stopping Incivek a month ago. I came to the conclusion it was the Inc.

Yes. With the older Pegasys & Ribavirin treatment, people had to be virus free for about 10 years before claiming they were cured. With the new triple therapy (Pegasys, Ribavirin, and Incivek or Victrelis) I suspect people will be able to claim they are cured if they are virus free 6 months, or maybe a year, after completing treatment. Bottom Line: If someone has a Sustained Virological Response (SVR) they can be considered cured.

REP 2139-Ca used alone or in combination with Pegasys®, ZADAXIN® or Pegasys® and ETV was safe and well-tolerated and resulted in an antiviral response that was profound and includes: the elimination (up to 7 log reduction to LLOQ) of HBsAg in the blood seroconversion for both HBsAg and HBeAg and, the elimination (up to 6 log reduction to LLOQ) of serum HBV DNA.
Congrats on finishing on INC. I just finished two weeks ago and I originally was taking my INC & Riba together 8 hours apart. When I finished the INC, I moved the Riba to 12 hours apart for one week and discovered the stuff was keeping me up all night. So with the help of our warriors and a call to my NP, I got the ok to move the riba back to 8am and 4pm. So this week I will see how it works out. I am thinking so far this will be good, at least it was today.

I suppose I will take the Pegasys whichever anti-viral I use. But I wonder as I was a "partial responder" to Pegasys before (no virus @12 weeks, 212,000VL@24 week and no virus@48 weeks) I'm wondering if I might be better off this time with the Peg-intron. Guess I might flip a coin.
BTW, I'm 70 miles south of Tampa in Arcadia. Guess I need to add that to my profile.

ready to start by 10 week of triple with inc. Do you feel better and able to get off the couch after completing inc.?
One, I was not up to the 60 grams of fat needed with inc. also, I wanted the month of lead in with soc to see how my body responded . I have been doing Vic one week now, at four weeks I was undetectable. I also was not up to the rash. The treatment time is a little shorter with incivek so that is something to consider.
Good luck with you decision and treatment. Be sure to talk to your doctor about pros/cons. I think you have a fantastic chance to clear. Have you had a gene test done?
Merck will market Victrelis as an addition to the Peg-Intron cocktail, while Roche will promote its combination with Pegasys. And Pegasys has muscle; it currently owns about three-quarters of the interferon market in hepatitis C, Bloomberg says. Plus, Merck’s trials for Victrelis tested the drug in combination with Peg-Intron, so having Roche put its stamp on Victrelis as a Pegasys add-on could help offset the lack of data there.
I was taken off Xanax and Nortriptalyne (An AD used in low doses for Migraine control - dual duty for me) before starting my Triple TX of Incivek, Pegasys and Ribavirin. I have begun experiencing mental side effects along side my already rough physical ones. My doctor prescribed Cymbalta and I learned after I filled it that it interacts with another medication I take, Imitrex for migraines. So I do not wish to take the Cymbalta as I fear the interaction is too great of risk.
