Here are my observations. Two months ago I traveled and took my RediPens. I bought a small travel pack at the pharmacy and it had a small icepack in it. I put it in a plastic bag and pointed it out to security and had no problem. However,when I got to my destination the ice pack was melted and my meds were warm. Since I don't trust the RediPens, I had taken two and had to carry one back home. I borrowed a regular ice pack from my sister and put the Redipen and Icepack in a ziplock.

I guess the 'analysts' say that meeting the main goal of non-inferiority compared to Pegasys is not enough. They don't put any weight on the advantage of injecting bi-weekly, which I do. These analysts say albuferon must show numerically BETTER SVR rates to be commercially viable. If I had a choice between weekly or bi-weekly injections, everything else being equal, I'd choose albuferon over pegasys.

Just got off the phone with the manufacturers of Pegasys' nurse. She said you can (if absolutely necessary) leave Pegasys out of the refrigerator for up to 24 hrs., but obviously not in a hot car or out in the sun. As for injections... You can inject up to 24 hrs. ahead of your scheduled weekly injection (for example let's say you inject every Saturday at 9 p.m.), you can inject Friday at 9 p.m. OR 48 hrs. later, which would bring it to Monday 9 p.m.

I am using Pegasys prefilled syringes, anyone knows what to do ? How long can the prefilled syringes stay out of refrigarator ?

I need to lose weight, I have a child with special needs, I'm a single parent and time is very short. I don't have a lot of free time and any I do get is in short bursts of 1 or 2 hrs.. I would welcome any dietary or exercise idea's as I'm fed up of living on convenience and junk food. Bad diet and stress is making life more difficult than it needs to be but I don't no where to start changing things.

The driver apologized and said his workers packed them and they are supposed to leave them for him to pack last so they can go towards the front of the truck and get delivered early. He waited while I checked and sure enough the ice was melted and the syringes were not cold....I called the specialty pharm and they gave me some wacko story that the meds could stay good room temp for 2 weeks or something crazy like that. She wouldn't budge.

Get a note from your doctor saying that you must travel with interferon, an injectable medication. Carry on a small six pack cooler with an ice pack and hand it to the person as you go through security. If it is a long flight, bring a ziplock bag and ask the attendant for ice. I flew international a couple months ago and had no problems at all. If you are still concerned you can call your airline and they will put a note on your reservation.

I got 3 from walmart. They are extremely comfortable and seem like they are going hold up. They have a 2 pack for 16 dollars and I got one on clearance for 5. Mother hood also has good but they cost alot more.

As far as I know, I don't think one is more accurate than the other. I think it's just a matter of convenience. With the test strip, you have to first pee into a cup and then dip the strip into it for a few seconds and lay it flat until the result is ready. The midstream is just how it sounds, try to hold it in your urine stream for a few seconds. Personally, I buy the test strips from early-pregnancy-tests.

I took shorter trips with a pegasys freezer pack and they didn’t last 5 hours. I’m also concerned about freezing as portann mentioned and that packaging sounds like a good plan. I’m going in next Tuesday and I ask the nurse to contact the drug company. I’m sure that I should get a good response from them as well. Perhaps they have a study going on over there and I could pick up a redipen and not have to worry about it.

I had a migraine new to me about a month ago went to a neurologist he prescribed meythpredislone 21 pack and after that was completed he prescribed neurotin gabapentin which I am very afraid of taken but I started taken 1 before I go to bed. Why did the neurologist prescribed that if it was just for headaches?

Does anyone have any experience in this sector or for that matter any international sector? Airline advises me to carry the pegasys in thermocol packs with ice pack and in checked in baggage. All your views would be appreciated.

I believe most do it a home, mostly for convenience from the comfort of your own home, no need to drive anywhere, etc. Also, many do it later in the evening just prior to bed which makes self injection an easier choice. If a spouse or friend is available to help if needed, even better.

JiimJim What is the difference between those 2 interferons that are out there? Is one better than the other, as this hepatologist has now put me on the Pegasys,but when I was at St. Luke's hospital there was another one that I never heard of that you give yourself a shot everyday. Can't remember the name, and then there is the Peg-Intron interferon by Sherring.

I evacuated before the storm came and only took a 2 wks supply of my injections. I left most of my meds (2 pegasys, and like 8 neupogen) at home in the fridge beause i didn't want to take all my meds and have them spoiled just in case i get delayed on the road. Now i'm safe, but i'm worred about my meds at home bc i know for a fact that my entire street is out of power.

According to the Pegasys medication Guide, Pegasys should be injected in the stomach or thigh (http://www.gene.com/gene/products/information/pegasys/pdf/pegasys_mg.pdf). Pegintron can be injected in the stomach, thigh, or back of the arm (according to the Pegintron medication guide). I've had both Pegasys and Pegintron. My experience is Pegintron is much harder on my skin so I was assuming you were on Pegintron .......

The nurse gave me the Pegasys injection intramuscular in my arm instead of subcutaneous? Will that have any effect on the course of treatment? Does it have the same efficacy?will I still benefit from the injection in the same intended way?

I start pegasys in July. Are the side effects really bad? I know everyone is different.. Do most people lose some of their hair? I just wanted info from someone that has been on this.

Has anybody out there been treated with COPEGUS and PEGASYS? I saw a gastroentoligist today and he has ordered all sorts of blood work, but says if I start treatment this is what he would give me. I asked about the new VERTEX drug coming out next year and he said it probably wouldent be out that soon.

Now then in morning knee lil swollen, pain when walking, no bending or squatting which would lead my proffessional opinion to be you over streched tendons, possibly a slight tear. Use an ice pack for 2 days twice a day 30 mins each. No more weights till Friday. If everything returns to normal leave the squats out for an additional week. However by this Friday if knee is still the same, go see family doctor. Be smart and avoid all the costly tests.
