Avatar m tn In general, are the effective optics diameter normally the same as the optics diameter described in the IOL specification ?
Avatar m tn I just found that the optics diameter of Crystalens HD is 5 mm while most of the optics diameter of mono-focal IOL are 6 mm. What are the diameters of other multi-focal IOL like RESTOR, REZOOM ? Will the optics diameter of 5mm of Crystalens cause more glare and holos ? Does Crystalens HD improved regarding the glare and holos compared to Crystalens AT45 due to a 0.5 mm bigger in optics diameter ?
Avatar m tn It was more sensitive to residual astigmatism and many doctors stopped using it and returned to the AT50SE. The AT50AO (aspheric) is the AT50SE with aspheric optics. Aspheric optics are an advantage in low light conditions when the pupil dilates. Some argue that in bright light condition that results in small pupils there is no advantage to aspheric optic. Aspheric optics are used in cameras, microscopes, etc. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn I am 22 yr old and i have hepatitis c genome 3 and i am taking pegasus\once weekly and ribavirin since 19-6-08 my question is have i to do weekly CBC or I can do every 2weeks before the injection ?
Avatar m tn As I mentioned before you should get a book on optics. You will waste your time looking on the web without the medical background. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn Crown glass does have better optics, but with a low prescription like what you would have its likely most people wouldn't notice the difference. Most people tend to avoid glass these days due to the risk of breakage, the extra weight and because other options are often cheaper. It does tend to superior optics due to things like a higher abbe number as this explains: http://www.allaboutvision.com/lenses/how-to-choose.
Avatar m tn Can someone explain, in “Optics for Dummies” terms, how intraocular lens power relates to contact lens prescription power? I’ve had monovision correction with contacts for several years; -9.0 D for distance, -5.75 D for close-up. During cataract surgery, my doctor implanted a 12.0 D intraocular lens for distance and a 14.0 D lens for close-up. Intuitively, I would think the more “powerful” lens (14.0 D) would be for distance while the smaller number (12.0 D) would be for close-up.
1470607 tn?1286716300 Due to the optics. Look at a basic books on optics. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn Pegasus and Dr. Lupo, I have almost the exact same thing. I have a multicystic nodule on my left thyroid and every now and then i get a pain in my neck followed by a minor sore throat and some hoarseness due to a cough i usually only get when it flares up. I recently have been getting an upset stomach almost everytime i eat and i thought it was due to my acidic levels.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new here, and my husband is in his 10th month of treatment. Just had his second transfusion, and he isn't bouncing back. They upped his procrit, and he has had to stop taking ribavirin again. He's still on a half dose of pegasus and his viral count is undetectable. His doctor said he hated to pull the rug out from under him last visit, and it looks like I"m going to have to take him before his next visit. I think he may need another transfusion soon.
Avatar n tn Will the Pegasus work without CoPegasus, I'm getting alot of side effects, I cant sleep and itchy rash's, I can handle the Pegasus alone but the Copegasus makes me feel bad. My liver function test are normal. Has anybody gotten rid of the hep without it?
Avatar m tn Just got my Pegasus and co Pegasus. Was hoping just for just the Pegasus, But there was a study that said non responders faired no better than responders on there study. Why this applies to me I do not know. I am a relapser. This cost the insurance company big money. Any Ideas? At stage 4 i have no time to wait. Have had the same issues getting into the studies. Relapser. Life can be hard at times.

757137 tn?1347196453 Thanks. I have small pupils and an optometrist once commented that that was good, but I never asked him why.
Avatar f tn You need to call the "eye doctor' that did the exam and discuss. Normally they would have you come in to check your eye especially your cornea. Ask about charge, normally our practice does not charge for this type of visit.
Avatar n tn First, it corrects chromatic aberration. Second, it uses these optics to extend the range of quality vision.” ' Unfortunately there is no guarantee of the results of any one patient with any lens. Some people have problems with halos even with a monofocal lens, there is no lens yet that doesn't give a small percentage of people problems unfortunately.
Avatar n tn Over the seven years i have gone from acuvue 2, acuvue hydraclear, and O2 Optics lenses all with absoultly no problem or discomfort. Recently I moved back to the O2 Optics lens and they were ok but with a tiny bit of discomfort and were tough to put in (felt hard). I went back to the eye doctor and told him they didnt feel right and were starting to bother my eyes, so i got moved back to hydraclear lenses.

862235 tn?1336060295 Which one would you all recommend she go on, the Incivek 12 weeks plus Pegasus 48 or the 44 weeks Victrelis plus Pegasus 48? I think the Incivek has a few more sides but a better success rate. Is that true. Do patients with a lot of Incivek sides normally improve after the 12 weeks? Any info to help in the choice would be great.
