Common Questions and Answers about Pegasus on the fly

pegasys

Avatar f tn Just an opinion ... in taking a interferon shot once a week I don't think one needs to be so precise in the timing. If the difference is the two hours from 22:00 to midnight, shouldn't make a difference.
Avatar n tn I think the SOC is every 2 weeks at first and less later if all is well. The main reason for CBCs is that the blood can tank so fast - both white counts and red counts - and you need to be aware of what is happening. I think the once a week CBCs are a good idea. Have you discussed with your doctor what happens if the WBC or RBC go down too low?
Avatar f tn Im 32 weeks and will be moving to texas soon, is it safe for me to fly on the airplane ? Another question ... I have medical, & was wondering will I be able to get insurance in texas for my pregnancy .
Avatar m tn Nobody on this forum is a doctor or a clinician but I will give you my 2 cents worth on the issue. My understanding on uveitis is minimal but I have heard that it is rare. Since you already have issues with it and your specifically asking whether IFN/interferon/Pegasys would provoke your "uveitis" my unprofessional answer is yes. Whatever health issues you have going into tx almost always errupt into a problem. If I was you, I would only tx if you absolutely have to.
Avatar f tn Yes you are fine to fly in the 3rd trimester youashould be cleared by a doctor before doing so but you are still so early it's fine.
3159290 tn?1384128440 well its like this: i went to uams in little rock arkansas for help with the type 1 stage 4 hep c for a year and a half. after that time i asked the dr. why i haven't been put on pegasus and he said he was afraid it might kill me due to having an ammonia attack 8 months pryor. i stated the fact to him that i had been given 3 to 4 years to live and i would rather die from trying to put this disease "under arrest" than to die from.
Avatar n tn What are you taking along with the Pegasus? Though neither tx is easy, I found the Pegasus to be much easier on my body, mind than the Pegintron. Have you had a biopsy to see how your liver is doing?
Avatar f tn Lupo, I have almost the exact same thing. I have a multicystic nodule on my left thyroid and every now and then i get a pain in my neck followed by a minor sore throat and some hoarseness due to a cough i usually only get when it flares up. I recently have been getting an upset stomach almost everytime i eat and i thought it was due to my acidic levels. if i follow your advice about the antacid, would it help my thyroid at all, or just the neck pain, cough, hoarseness, and stomach aches?
Avatar m tn I would recommend educating yourself on the latest treatments and finding a doctor who is aware of the latest knowledge in the field of Hep C. Find out how you responded to previous treatments. When do you drop more than 2 log. When did you become undetectable etc. You need to know what sub category of non-responder you are to learn what your odds of success are. Sorry for the bad news, but having cirrhosis, time and effort is of the essence. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new here, and my husband is in his 10th month of treatment. Just had his second transfusion, and he isn't bouncing back. They upped his procrit, and he has had to stop taking ribavirin again. He's still on a half dose of pegasus and his viral count is undetectable. His doctor said he hated to pull the rug out from under him last visit, and it looks like I"m going to have to take him before his next visit. I think he may need another transfusion soon.
Avatar n tn Will the Pegasus work without CoPegasus, I'm getting alot of side effects, I cant sleep and itchy rash's, I can handle the Pegasus alone but the Copegasus makes me feel bad. My liver function test are normal. Has anybody gotten rid of the hep without it?
Avatar f tn Today is the 10th day post IVF transfer of 2 embryos. I peed on the stick and it came back with 2 lines. This is the second ivf cycle we have gone through. Blood test on 8/25. I screamed when I saw the results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hang in there everybody!
Avatar f tn Very long story short, they told us they could give us what we wanted but when we went to sign everything the had failed to mention that we would be paying on it for 7 years! I went off!! I was so irritated that "failed to mention"that, that I just went off on them. We ended up getting the car and we pretty much met them half way, but after we left my husband was like "I was really proud of how you handled that!
Avatar m tn ive had this virus since 1969. when i was at your stage, i would get pain on the right under the ribs, only when i drank booze. many things can cause that right side discomfort. Gas can also cause that pain.
Avatar m tn I I will be taking pegasus soon.can my wife be subjected to any of the drug through oral sex with me ?not a joke question.
Avatar f tn About two months ago somehow my ins. got some wrong info they said no to the meds they have been given me since Aug 2007 so i had to get to the bottom of it. It was a nightmare. the ins company said they didn't deni the claim and the caremark said they didn't deni the claim. I was getting desperate I was still takin the meds. I called caremark to see how it was if I paid for it.he said for a month of the meds it was about $2700.00 thank God my claim did come through.
Avatar f tn Cross sensitivity is extremely high between the two if we are applying the same definition. They both encode for almost the same amino acids and very little difference will be observed concerning side effects, severity, etc. I hope this answers your question.
Avatar n tn Yes different sized Peg molecule is very interesting but which is better no one knows, the seem to work about the same, I did both relapsed on Pegasus 24 weeks tx. Svr on pegintron 48 weeks tx. I think the most important thing is that they are both good meds and one may work better depending on the body chemistry of each person. Pegintron is smaller so maybe it can get into places that Pegasus can’t no one knows for sure.
862235 tn?1336060295 Which one would you all recommend she go on, the Incivek 12 weeks plus Pegasus 48 or the 44 weeks Victrelis plus Pegasus 48? I think the Incivek has a few more sides but a better success rate. Is that true. Do patients with a lot of Incivek sides normally improve after the 12 weeks? Any info to help in the choice would be great.
Avatar m tn Seeing that there not doing any more trials in my area for Sofosbuvir I am now looking at Faldaprevir. Is anyone on a current trial with that right now. Also if you failed treatment with Pegasus,Riba and telaprevir would I still be able to do it?
550943 tn?1330727580 ve heard from one person on here who says recent research has proven that it may not be safe to fly during the first trimester. However what I personally think is that miscarriages are unstoppable and I doubt that flying will have any effect. I flew in my first trimester and in my 3rd trimester and my daughter was fine both times. That is even with me having a miscarriage 6 weeks before I conceived her and bleeding from a subchorionic hematoma for 5 weeks during the first trimester.
Avatar m tn I really know nothing about the length of time a Genotype 1 person should treat with Pegasys and Ribavirin because most of us who are Genotype 1 are now treating with 3 drugs (Pegasys or some other type of interferon, Ribavirin, and one of the new drugs which became available in May 2011 (Incivek and Victrellis). Beng on the three drugs gives us Genotype 1 people a much better chance of clearing the virus and resching a sustained viral response (75 - 80% chance now).
